I like this but based on what I've read I won't be able to use it. I've already plugged a BMW iPod cable to the aux connector in the back of my 06 radio. This allowed me to play music through my iPhone via blue tooth. I didn't have the newer aux connector in newer models. I would have done this sooner but I'm able to use GPS off my phone as well.

Whilst this indeed quite helpful in the initial stages of dismantling the bmw parts. I find when it came to the actual aux cable retrieval the lack of detail was a bit frustrating.
As I have struggled to find my aux cable I found I had to rewind the video a number of times just to see if I had the connector as the camera did not cover this particularly well. Also if there is no aux cable visible perhaps some more info on how to retrieve it.

The factory AUX input is the connection between this unit and the factory AMP/Speakers.
I installed the same system after installing it the factory installed Radio is not working ,also the units AM Radio is not working. Can anybody help me pls thx

I wont buy from Seicane again. The unit didn't fit the car they said it would, and I had to pay Aus$80 for return shipping. I'd recommend Eonon instead.
I have a 2006 BMW X3 E83 2.0d LHD. Is there any way to tell if my car has the necessary Aux cable other than taking out the header and visually inspecting it? This is the updated version. I’m not positive if it locks down as it seems to be a larger screen. You have a newer car as I have, so I would say you are fine.

Hi we ordered a kit for 2010 BMW X3 and they sent us a different system my husband thinks it might work except the cables are too short it’s a different model that require longer cables and it doesn’t fold shut like the one in the video

They sent us longer cables and only recently My son has helped us with the installation of the kit and was able to figure it out but the radio antenna adapter was missing. We have contacted Seicane and they have refused to send us the item claiming it's been too long, but will send it if we pay additional $50 Can/$35 US. It is such a small thing, should not cost $50. Do you know if we can purchase the antenna locally?

I have a 2008 X3si with the Business CD system. Bluetooth connected for only phone calls, but has the aux plug in the back of the center armrest. How does this interface with what I have now? Will the radio work from my original head unit, or will it be from the Seicane system?
From what I've been able to find, I believe it should work the same as mine above.
I have a 2006 BMW X3 but it doesn't have the stock aux in cable. Will this install still work or do I have to install the BMW aux in cable and reprogram the radio to display Aux mode?
I suggest adding the AUX cable (bmw only, as amazon ones fail to work). and no reprograming necessary! EVERYTHING is plug and play, even the bmw aux addition! Good luck

did the car have it from the factory? If not you need to buy the AUX cable (amzn.to/38CeAIV) and then replace your CD Changer wire. This is the genuine part (I bout several others that I had problems with). Let me know how I can help.

Thanks a lot for this video. I wouldn't have dared to do this job without it. I received the latest version of the Seicane h6044K with android 8.1. Unfortunately I can’t make the setup of the steering wheel. I asked support to Seicane after sales department, but they refuse to provide me any help, on the pretext that this item was not bought directly from their website, but from Aliexpress Europe. Meaning they refuse to respect their contractual commitments about warranty. Any advice or tips to help me configuring the steering wheel control plug ? (Michel from France)

@@millertimebmw I'm in the same boat. The newer models are not working with the steering wheel controls. Mine came with a canbus unit but it's missing a file. Seicane and the eBay seller won't help. The file missing is can_app.iap

Do the steering wheel control work with for bluetooth and volume, etc? Also can you use the radio knobs and controls for accessing functions?
The steering wheel buttons control the volume, but not the track advance if paired to phone, etc. Still a really great set-up.
This seems to be a gap in all of the aftermarket X3 solutions. None of them can get the steering wheel track advance buttons to work. Would be nice if somebody would figure this out.

I wish I had seen the Avin install before I bought the Seicane one. Everyone stay away from the Seicane one. The bluetooth phone calls are terrible. The boot logo never works. The reverse camera doesn't shut off when you put the suv in drive. The steering wheel controls don't work. The cd player is disabled. Seicane doesn't even support their product. They give you the run around.
I should buy a new unit to compare to this one I have installed. My CD player (in dash) still works ( I never had a CD Changer). The phone call quality is good too. Sorry you had issues. Guess I"ll keep looking for another unit to review!
I was going to order a new one from aliexpress that still has your factory CD player enabled but honestly I think the BMW X3 is a hunk of junk. I bought another Cayenne so the stereo will be the new owners problem. Lol
I do not recommend purchasing this unit. I have a 2007 X3 with factory GPS which also displays some of the car's settings and I have lost the ability to see them, steering wheel controls do not work, CD player does not work. I have gone back and forth with Seicane but they don't ever provide solutions. I sent them a photo of my dash and they confirmed the unit would work without issue but that was a lie. Tech support provides an answer that does not address the question you asked. I have purchased 3 head units from them before and did not have to use tech support but now that I have used them, I would not buy another unit from them. Buyer BEWARE!!

Just purchased a 2006 X3.oi. My local installer guy said I’d have to spend $2,000 to $3,000 to replace the stock radio with a touch screen. I am pretty broke after buying the car. Is there any cheaper models I could buy for the car?

It is wired to your speed sensor? It might disable due to the car moving.

Hi! Seicane released a new model for the E83, it is Android 8.1 and it looks different than the one you show in the video. Do you know about it, do you think it's as good as yours? Do you recommend it?
I've looked at the new style, great price too. I think it has a few extras as far as fit and finish. I think you'll be happy.

No radio /and/ GPS??? No GPS /and/ radio??? OK, sticks and BT are nice, but no radio, too?? Why would I do this?? Sorry, but fail.
There is an external speaker to play GPS commands when not on AUX. But no, not over car speakers while off AUX.

Your radio will have a slot for either the CD changer or AUX. If you don't have the AUX you will need an adaptor.

Hey I'm pretty interested in this, but don't really like that I can't use the radio while using it. Does it support full Bluetooth audio to just play music off my phone? Do the steering wheel controls work for the Bluetooth music? Does the Android OS ever need updating, and if so, how? Thanks for the info!
Great questions! I have not needed to update as of yet, but Iwould connect to WIFI or add a sim car to do that. The audio output works via the AUX function on the stereo, but there is an added speaker they included to have navigation commands read aloud when not using AUX. Pretty cool. my car was never equipped with bluetooth control so I can't speak to those. I would think not. but again, not positive. Overall I"m still very happy with the unit.
Ive installed one and am pretty happy except I cant get my steering wheel controls to work. Program function does not seem to pick up a signal. Any suggestions?
Really great questions. It will stream audio from your phone, iTunes or pandora. and the steering wheel will increase volume only. I love it, I've not needed to update but I can easily by connecting to WIFi (at home or elsewhere). really a slick set-up in my opinion.
