best scene and one of the best movies ever , made in 1999.... - Matt Damon, Jude Law and Stefania Rocca interpretations are just MAGNIFICENT !! brilliant movie
I felt for Sylvana😢 poor girl 😢 When she was jealously talking to Marge or watching the boat, she knows she can never be a part of Dickie's world . Stefania Rocca was so so so beautiful 😍😍😍😍
I watch horror movies pretty regular... this movie scares the shit out of me. More than any horror. Matt Damon is so sickeningly creepy. The ominous build-up to the climactic scenes on the scooner with Dickie or with Marge are haunting.
Stefania Rocca, morena, belíssima, angelical e escultural atriz de cinema italiana de lindos olhos azuis consagrada definitivamente como o maior e o mais belo símbolo sexual italiano da década de noventa do século vinte.
Greenleaf really does act as if he loves Ripley, like they are best friends. Allies deeper than blood. And then he just... You feel for Greenleaf, but it is a damn deserving fate... And what he did to that woman. Would he do the same to Marge?
Dickie is just a good-time boy with a gregarious nature. I can understand Tom's misinterpretation but it's when he starts to expect things from Dickie that things go wrong. For Dickie it's holiday fun ... which will come to an end. After all Tom lied that he was "just passing through" when they first met.
I thought Dickie had narcissistic traits and features. Tom was very sympathetic. He seemed to genuinely love Dickie in an unrequited way. Well, as much as Tom could genuinely love beyond himself …
She is an italian actress, her name is Stafania Rocca, i like her so much. In the following clip is in an italia sci-fi movie called "nirvana" .. it's something like "matrix" but more old. In "nirvana" she is something like a girl-hacker. czcams.com/video/JU5BJl59Rck/video.html (obviously the movie is in italian).
Nah. I think it's a kind of childish sadness. When confronted by the fact that life isn't all brunch and jazz, he lashes out and blames the world. It reminds me of how Peter Pan gets upset.
Such a powerful scene, it revealed the depths of Dickie’s soul: entitled, childish and wholly unable to accept his blame in the way he played with people’s lives. Jude Law’s acting is great, I hated his pretty face so much 😅
Everything about the movie is great except Matt Damon who is fantastic in his element wasn't meant to play a gay psycho and the movie lost 50% of its punch after Jude Law left us.
Because she's heart broken. She's in love with dickie, she's carrying his child and she knows she can never be part of his world, as symbolised when she sees him on the boat and knows she can never be on it. And in that way she shares a lot with Tom. They are both seduced by Dickie and his opulent life style.
@@Soloohara I think that you are being awfully rude. There is no idea of a homogenous western culture or 'way'. We have folk law and rituals here in the UK that you would also sneer at, but they are part of our traditions.
Dickie's initial stone-faced reaction is classic from Jude Law. He nailed that character.

I don't think she was jealous of Marge. I think she was pregnant and she knew that Dickie was not going to marry her

It was Tom! Tom ripley did it! He kills 4 people in the movie
If this is meant to be a joke - not funny!
Why not
I believe it was Ripley too. Sylvana knew too much
Tom would do anything for Dickie, they’re brothers, hey…
Nah it was obvious from Tom’s shocked reaction and him looking at Dickie that Tom had nothing to do with it
In the movie Dickie Greenleaf is portrayed less likeable than in the novel, perhaps to make Tom Ripley look more likeable. Not a good idea.
