About Cold Mountain:
At the dawn of the Civil War, the men of Cold Mountain, North Carolina, rush to join the Confederate army. Nicole was unjustly criticized in this film. She gave a good performance. I won’t nominate it for an Oscar but she was better than Diane Keaton in Something Gotta Give. Zellweger on the other hand was lauded by her “showy” performance but if people actually saw the film House of Sand and Fog, they will know that Shohreh Aghdashloo was the rightful winner that year. 🙄

I've wanted to watch this movie for quite some time. For one reason or another, it just didn't work out. Until I find myself in possession of this movie, thinking with my luck it's be scar arched and unwatchable, I tried it. Looking back (after watching it) it was a beautiful movie, to say that it was quality in every aspect (not like many movies nowadays). It's a story of love, torn apart by war, life and evil. Through it all, they fight to be with one another. Great characters (except the Joker-like Bosie). A few unnecessary scenes amd lines that take away from the story and potential of its greatness, but other than that it's almost perfection. A movie I'd definitely re-watch, but hesitate to keep. If you enjoy a struggling romance or sad films, this might be the watch for you. #MajestikReviews

Without sad ending? No way.... Either its a good ending or bad ending..... There will be some consequences in the movies where one can feel the sadness in the goodness..... That's what movies teach us in building our life's...... Great comment....

I always thought the same thing ! In this time period, girls were married and even mothers very young, in their teens mostly. It seems strange that someone as beautiful and well off as Ada had not come across the right suitor until Inman. He also looks old to not be married already for a man of the civil war era. Still I can’t imagine who could have done a better job than Kidman, she did give a great performance. The chemistry was good between her and Jude Law.
