Chris R. - AA Speaker - "It is OKAY to be EXCITED about recovery!"

  • So many times in an AA meeting, we hear someone who is enthusiastic about recovery get accused of being on a "pink cloud" or that they have a "huge ego" just for showing excitement for a life-changing process. In this tape, Chris R. deals with this misnomer directly and encourages the audience to think about those things in a different light. The grace of our Higher Power is not something we should put a damper on, or hide, because we are afraid someone will mock us or say something that might discount what we are saying. I LOVE how Chris is so direct and sincere. His experience rings true for SO many members of AA and he is an absolute joy to listen to. Prepare to be inspired and motivated! Thank you so much Chris!
Addiction treatment WORKS! The Twelve Step Model has been utilized as a treatment for alcohol abuse and alcoholism since 1935. It is extremely important to know that help IS out there and addiction recovery is possible. If you are battling alcoholism, drug addiction, addiction or any other form of addictive behavior, there are people who know EXACTLY what it is like!
You can find out more at: www.aa.org - Alcoholics Anonymous Official Site - As should be blatantly obvious, we are in no way affiliated with them or any other Twelve Step Program. We are just looking to provide hope to those suffering from alcoholism or addiction.
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her alcohol abuse treatment. Substance abuse is a very serious condition and has become an epidemic in today's world. Many people suffering with substance abuse need treatment, such as inpatient stays, rehab, or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction issues. Help IS out there!
From the book Alcoholics Anonymous: "In spite of the great increase in the size and span of this Fellowship, at its core it remains simple and personal. Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope."
Every tape is carefully selected to ensure its quality and that it is entertaining to listen to. You can trust Odomtology 12-Step Recovery Media to be synonymous with the best online recovery material out there. QUALITY is our mission. This is why we have such a large and engaged following. Today, I have 174 days sober, working the steps (doing Step 9 amends) with my sponsor and being of service through commitments to my homegroup and being in constant in contact with newcomers with less time than me. Chris' presentation moved me to tears and inspired me. Tonight, my sponsor and I will discuss if I'm ready to sponsor. I took Chris' message seriously and understand the need to have one less person in this world suffer from the disease of alcoholism and addiction. Wish me luck.

One of Chris's sponsees took me through Steps 1-7 in 6 hours the other night and now I'm ready to do 8-9 which have always been a stumbling block for me. I had a serious spiritual experience but it took two days to sink in. I want MORE no matter what the cost. I thought I knew what I was doing after 22 years in AA but this is the hard stuff and I thought they were nuts.
They are right. You must have a vital spiritual experience NOW and carry it forth NOW to other alcoholics. The 12 steps tell you how. Not me. Thank God for AA Fundamentalists! The people who have blown me off need therapists. The people who have not can't get enough.

Chris and Myers Raymer’s messages finally sunk in and literally saved me from a 2nd suicide attempt due to what they finally addressed as what was killing me DRY: Spiritual Malady.
I knew them through a Primary Purpose Group in my town.
only the original AA saved me. No watered down middle of the road. Thank you!! 10 years of living in full sobriety- I cannot take the watered down approach. I wish there were more women with a AA message like the Raymers . Carrying message of depth and weight & STAY! I was like Chris: A true bottomed alcoholic. Listen to this message and follow it. Pages 1-164 of AA big book. The SOLUTION. You can get well forever.

PEOPLE THAT KNOCK NEW COMERS ABOUT BEING ON A PINK CLOUD are people that are still suffering from UNTREATED ALCOHOLISM -like the ones that wish people a slow recovery ! i have yet to go to a gift shop at a hospital and find a card that say's I WISH YOU A SLOW RECOVERY - ALL of them say wish you a speedy recovery ! the rooms are full of people with untreated alcoholism - people with a lot of years but not a lot of days ! over the 30 yrs i have been going to meetings i see people that just don't drink and go to meetings , talk what GOD has done ! ( removed the obsesion ) yet still stuck in a spiritual kindergarten , most say they work the principles on daily basis , but when the chair person asks ANYONE willing to be a sponsor !!! room full of people and maybe 2 - 4 hands go up on a good day ! if we are not putting our hand up at every meeting - then we are NOT WORKING THE 12 STEPS - and how many actually take a spot check ( step 10 ) and nighty review ! i know i live in whats referred to the recovery capital in the U.S ( SOUTH FLORIDA ) and see zero personality change ! I have spoken to Chris R, many times over the yrs so grateful TO HIS MESSAGE OF AA! his carries THE MESSAGE - OF ORIGINAL UNWATERED DOWN AA ! God bless him ! once formally going through the 12 steps and learning the formula we then live in 10,11 - then 12 if i don't check in my 11th step inventory answering the 10 questions , ask forgiveness where i fell short then meditate and ask GOD on what corrective measures - how can i carry or transmit the message to the new person ! ?????????
