The slide plate, dropping sway bar (optional 4 17mm bolts), remove tire and behind front passenger tire, use opening passed splash guard. Removing power steering pump two bolts and a pry bar to remove and put out the way. No need to remove the 1 bolt that is a guide for starter held on by a nut. Slides right off and through the opening. Done the repair in a Whataburger parking lot in less than two hours. Good vid though, minus the frustration.

Hey great vid! I just did my friend's and everything went well until the pigtail connector for the electrical on the alternator came off. The connector itself has numbers 1-4 but I can't find a diagram of what color wires go to which numbers. Andy advice? I was thinking to try to call dealership or find someone with an '07 Tundra and ask them if I can take a look. I can finish m job until I get this connector back on the pigtail.

could save yourself the hassle by removing the fan clutch and shroud. it makes sense because you'll drain the radiator and remove the hoses for great access. great time to replace hoses, belts, and thermostat. good maintenance goes a long way if you're already there.

Had you taken that bottom radiator hose off and folded it upward that alternator would've dropped right out

Can’t get the power steering pump to come loose after removing the 2 bolts. Any advice?

I had to use a pry bar.

I'm using a heavy hammer and block of wood and it is rocking but still stuck between those two mounting tabs..
WD-40 helps free its movement, but what a f*in stubborn pump to remove..
I saw another video where the guy dropped the sway bar and it just helps get your hands in there to gain access. It's only 4 bolts and rotate the sway bar out of the way, but always soak them before the attempt..
Best of luck to everyone with this procedure.

Use a pry bar to unwedge from pressure bolt.

I have gotten to the point of taking radiator out and got the PS pump off and got the top two bolts of the radiator out but I cannot reache the two on the FCKING BOTTOM. The hard trans oil cooler lines are in the way... has anyone figured out how the FCK to get to them? This video just says "there and there" which is BS... not so simple. (TY for everything else in the video) TIA!

Nvm found it on a Tundra forum... czcams.com/video/7IC5KlzOLIY/video.html
Hope that helps the next poor slob.

Loving JD’s comment.. but sorry my videos aren’t meant for amateurs.

@@TexThaiAuto Then why post it on CZcams where it's all "amateurs" ? As you state many times it's a suck job... I have done dozens of alternators so maybe no expert (if making a video for non-amateurs makes you an expert) but certainly not an amateur.

Not everyone that goes to CZcams is an amateur. Just the ones that like to complain.

This is one of Toyotas most difficult jobs. Right after the starter replacement.

American trucks are easier to remove parts and have a lot of space than Chinese cars. They are good Chinese cars but they are difficult to work with.
