Got to listen to the full album this song is on, it tells an epic story.
Get a few drinks in ya, or what I like is to smoke a bowl of some nice Chernobyl or or a really nice indica strain then slap them headphones on and let the music take you away.
This band is so underrated. I absolutely love them.

Her reaction made me so happy... this is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. So happy i discovered them a few years ago during the release of their 2nd album, i like power metal but i dont follow to many bands.. the thing about unleash the archers is theyre not super power metal.. if that makes sense.. they feel very new wave british heavy metal.. just sped up a little bit.

I like your characterization of UTA very much-they’re very reminiscent of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal)-Maiden, Saxon, early Def Leppard. It’s “classic” metal with highly technical playing and modern elements added. As an older “metalhead,” I immediately dug their sound.

    • @barryvanbeek8868

That song is the first track off of their album ”Apex”. Each track is like a chapter in a book and tells an overall story through through the entire album.

The true core of power metal is that special mix of taking themselves completely seriously while simultaneously not taking themselves seriously AT ALL.. It's cheesy and stupid but it's pure fun and just reveling in the moment.
The best are people that are true masters of their instruments cutting loose and just having a blast, sometimes with the absolute dumbest and over the top premises to the songs and putting their whole hearts into it.

  • @HaibaneRakka571
    @HaibaneRakka571 Před 6 lety +1

This is my first time discovering your channel. I love watching people discover power metal and like it. Some people don't like it (and that's OK, we all have our tastes), but it's cheesy ON PURPOSE and we know it's cheesy, but it's also SO POSITIVE and the whole point of power metal is to make the audience feel amazing and happy. Power metal concerts are huge singalongs, you described her wailing as "light and free", we typically describe it as "soaring vocals" because it MAKES YOU SOAR INSIDE YOUR CHEST.
I'm so happy you enjoyed it, sometimes I need calmer music but POWER METAL is the stuff that helps me get through the hard days; it is too happy and jovial for me to feel bad after listening to this genre of music. I will love to check out your other videos because I love your presence on video, and I'm excited to see what other genres you react to because I like exploring outside my own comfort zone.
PS: halflifesistah, I love the color of your outfit. It's my favorite shade of maroon.

New subscriber here but I've really enjoyed the vids I've watched so far. It's incredibly moving to watch someone begin their journey into metal music and seeing the moment when they 'get it'. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
With that said, I do have a request. Disturbed - Sound of Silence. Yes it's a few years old. Yes everyone else has reacted to it. But if Sistah hasn't heard it...well, she needs to.
    Thanks guys. Rock on.

HalfLifeSistah, you are right to feel happy listening to this song! It is about an immortal who has been asleep for 1,000 years and has just been awakened. He is excited and joyous to roam the earth once again! This is a song of new energy and drive! Perfect to listen to when you need a boost!! I really enjoyed your reaction. You two have incredible chemistry together, and are so refreshing to watch.
HalfLifeSistah, you really feel the music when you listen, which is so purely awesome, and beautifully rare. Wolfkain, I've been in a similar situation with metal when I was in High School. While I always liked pretty much all types of rock and metal, I gravitated towards Swedish Melodic Death Metal for a few years, from the ages 15-18. It was a confusing and very difficult time, and I had a lot of anger, stress, and worries. I would write poetry every day on all sorts of topics and listen to music for hours and hours each day. (I used to also write lyrics for a friend's band). Anyway, bands like In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork spoke to me so sonically and lyrically; they created such brutally beautiful music. I was never into hardcore, but the Swedish Melodic Death vocals were different (a more soothing whispering scream you could say), and were so cool when mixed with the occasion clean vocals. It was a place of comfort for me. I saw In Flames in concert at least 4 times, and Dark Tranquillity and Soilwork twice. It's funny, they weren't my top favorite bands because I appreciate clean vocals more than aggressive, but it was just something very special and unique compared to anything else, and man, they kicked ass in concert.
HalfLifeSistah, it's so cool you're opening up to and experiencing more metal music. There's such diversity in the genre (arguably more than any other genre), which I can tell you have already realized. Welcome to the metal community! :) Metal music is more than music, its a way of life and an attitude, and an artful way to drag out the darkness or shed the light on the core of humanity in all its fragility, anger, power, and triumph. With more time, you'll find your favorites.
Oh, and Wolfkain, I like what you said about power metal. Yes, PLEASE, please give it more listens. There's so much to offer. In fact, here's a small list of power metal songs that are pure awesomeness:
    "The Headless Game" -Edguy
    "Tears of a Mandrake" -Edguy
    "Darkened Room" -Black Majesty
"Birth of the Wicked" -Iced Earth
    "World Gone Mad" -Jorn
    "Fighting the Darkness" -Primal Fear
    "Black Rain" -Primal Fear
    "Metal Warrior" -Riot V
    "Panzerkampf" -Sabaton
    "Welcome to the Real" -Thunderstone
"Blind and Frozen" -Beast in Black
You both are killing it. Stay real and keep em' coming. Please consider reacting to at least one of these songs. I think you'll really like them all! :)
    -Peace

I am new to your channel and so far really enjoying your reactions as well as the team you both represent. What a beautiful couple you are, and one of only two reaction channels featuring a couple that I've enjoyed. If you want to experience metal that has a balance between clean and growl vocals I would like to suggest Trivium, if you have not heard them already. In particular, the songs Kirisute Gomen and Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis are phenomenal songs and great ways to break into that particular band.
