How to RESTART or SAVE A STOPPED Enraving Project Job !
In this video I will go over how to save a job that has stopped In LASERGRBL ! In my case, my Laser became snagged and unplugged ! I just thought I had to share this! Now I’m sure some people will comment that a popular paid program would do it easier with the preview play function that you can scrub to where you left off…well sorry..I don’t think it’s as accurate as this method. By adding a box with the dimensions of whatever offset you initially used to the bottom of your graphic, and then carefully measuring your material for where the laser cut out, you can save the image and then crop it to start right where it left off !! Now what others, & myself have done in the past ..is to restart an engraving but turn down the power to 0 and turn up the speed to get to the spot where it left off faster . Then when it gets to the spot it left off, and using the slider tools function ( you get them by clicking where you see S1 G1 etc. on the bottom right of LaserGRBL) Then when you get to the area you need to start engraving at, you have to turn the power back up and the speed down... Well it's timely if you had 2 hours in and hard to get the exact spot without going over an area twice and having a telltale line that's engraved deeper. :)
LASERGRBL as far as I’m concerned is the go to for engraving software. For me, I get Beautiful, Consistent results and it’ so EASY to learn compared with a payed Laser Engraving Program that would never do a complete engraving for me without errors or freezing!
Also, when you invest in a good Designing Program you have the versatility to design whatever you want ! Not just for Laser Engraving, but for Printing , Cutting, Videos.. wherever your creativity takes you!
I hope you’s like the new Intro & Outro. I’m starting to dabble with animation! So I hope to improve as I go along . I will still keep the format of no music or me babbling in front of the camera. 😂 I don’t want to take you’s away from creating! 🤗🤗
LASER: LU2 10A 10 Watt & 5.5 watt output laser as well.
I am self taught on all my designing programs! I still learn as I go on some of them to be honest !
But 30 years ago I sat down to learn how to use a computer and Software to be able to demonstrate Vinyl Cutters. I went from a Restaurant Manager to a Sign Shop Owner . So if I can do it, you certainly can! Just keep at it! 🤗💖

I subscribed yesterday and intend to watch all of your LaserGbrl videos! They're amazing ~ Thank you for sharing! I use loose zip ties to keep my air and other cords bundled together but I've also noticed that other diode laser owners have used spiral cable wrap. Amazon has 50' for around $6.00.

Welcome Celicia! and Thank you! I am a big fan of Zip ties, a cell phone holder, the spiral cable wrap, and even a flashlight when I first started out with my OLM2 Pro...lol! I have found my issue is about at the half way point as I have the extension kit. There is just too much slack of the air hose hanging for it to get caught up. I will be trying just some elastic cord attached to the hose and the top of my enclosure. I'm very careful not to add to much weight to anything that may add stress to the stepper motor and burn it out. :)
