I made this retro style, industrial looking lamp out of a very nice piece of oak. I dug it out to make room for the bulb holders and the wiring, then I covered it with a piece of iron plate. Wiring couldn't be simpler, as I just connected the two bulbs in parallel and interrupted one wire with the switch. Wood was sanded up to 400 grit and coated with teak oil. I hope you like the result. because I'm very happy and I think I may make a few more in the future! :)

Ho fatto questa lampada retrò dal look industriale con un pezzo di quercia. L'ho scavato per fare spazio ai portalampada e ai cablaggi, poi ho coperto il retro con un pezzo di lamiera. Il cablaggio non poteva essere più facile, perché ho collegato le lampadine in parallelo e ho interrotto uno dei fili di alimentazione con l'interruttore. Ho carteggiato il legno fino a 400 e poi ci ho passato dell'olio di teak.
Spero vi piaccia il risultato, perché io ne sono entusiasta e credo che ne farò altre in futuro! :)

what tool did you use to make those holes? I tried using tools that look like what you have but they didn't make holes, just outlines ... :(
Brigham Jenkins I think what you used is called hole saw, the ones that let you make recesses are called forstner bits :)

pensa che quel bel legno l'ho trovato nel garage di mio nonno, sotto altro legno, tutto impolverato e ruvido. qualche carezza con la pialla ed è tornato così :)

eh lo so, il problema è che è anche difficile installarla, perché il banco è d'acciaio, fatto un po' strano :)
Ti voglio dare uno spunto per costruirtene una (e magari farci un video)

TheKaukas thanks :) thos bulbs are called edison bulbs. they look like old, industrial incandescent ones, but in reality they are LED bulbs and consume very little
