The redesigned 2018 Honda Accord midsize sedan strikes reviewer Clifford Atiyeh as elegant and tuned with a level of engineering attention usually dedicated to sporty cars. With a new front grille and profile that are almost German, the Accord doesn’t look like a practical commuter’s car. But it certainly meets the expectations of a commuter car while exceeding the performance, handling, and quality of controls delivered by most of them.
The Accord offers two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. Base trims come with a 1.5-liter turbo four that makes 192 hp and lb-ft of torque paired with a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission that works well and feels like a traditional automatic. A 2.0-liter turbo four replaces the previously available V6 and can be had with the manual or a 10-speed automatic. It delivers 252 hp and 273 lb-ft, making it worthy of the manual. Anyone who loves driving but needs a car that can safely carry a family should give the Accord a close look.

Got the 2.0T and LOVE it. My passion for the Accord is reignited, largely due to the outstanding onboard tech. Infotainment system is second to none (though I do wish I could customize the colors!). Active cruise and lane keep assist feel like "Tesla lite". Not quite so advanced that you feel the car could drive itself, but effective and useful. On the highway, my feet rarely touch the pedals and I can steer with a single finger. This makes highway driving considerably more relaxed. One very minor complaint is that the 10-speed feels immature, having just been introduced. Runs smoothly when you're pushing it, but not so smoothly when driving gently. Smart styling and back seat space that feels like a limo. The Accord is an incredibly well rounded car with top notch tech and good looks to match.

Beautiful car, with great technology, fantastic smooth ride, astounding value, AND can get it in manual. No wonder so many outlets have listed Accord as the 2018 car of year. The real interesting thing is, how can it improve for 2019? Only one way, have a high trim option for us manual transmission lovers!!

Just test drove a Touring 2.0T after driving an Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 430i and 535i. For the price, the Accord is very compelling. The seats are harder than Audi and I could feel vibrations in the left foot floorboard vs. feeling very little in the Audi, but the price point is $10-12k different. Other than that, Accord has all the tech the luxs have and is on my short list.

I recently tried both the 2018 Accord and Camry. I went with an open mind, and test drove both. I wanted to like the Accord, but ended up buying a Camry because I preferred the quieter cabin and less bumpy ride. Didn't really like how the Accord's road noise sounded like it was emanating from the floors beneath me like the ground was hollow. But the Accord for sure has better tech than the Camry.

My 2018 Accord 1.5T just had a fuel injector fail at 58k error code P0172 (posted on my channel). It's a good looking car but once the warranty expires you're on your own and you have no idea how expensive modern Honda engines are to fix. Oil changed at 80%, Shell regular used 80% of the time, always did warm up the car in the winter. Dealer so out of touch they recommended brake fluid replacement at 30k. I've never seen this part fail in ANY of my past cars. When asked why fuel injectors failed so early they said they see them all the time and $1600-$2500 (must replace all 4) would fix my out of warranty problem and the new injectors warranty is only for 12k/12mos! Made a case with Honda and the person assigned has never called me back once. Called for 3 weeks until I realized the could care less. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice...

You slammed the Accord Hybrid. I TOTALLY disagree with your summation of this incredible model. I recently bought a 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring (in Modern Steel), and LOVE it. The engine is smooth (NOT "harsh"), it is plenty powerful when needed (I unintentionally spun the tires pulling out into traffic), the eCVT is smooth and always ready, and this car is quiet. However, I will say that the 47/47/47 mpg rating is not accurate. I got 55.7 mpg city mpg today and average in the 50s combined. This is a FANTASTIC car. Great looks (MANY compliments from friends and strangers), superb quality and a quiet and luxurious ride.

If you could somehow remove that chrome unibrow strip on the front it would be a good looking vehicle. Maybe you could somehow unscrew it and mold a fiberglass replacement piece that was body colored. It could look dignified and British without the ugly chrome. The headlights in themselves are not bad. It's the damn unibrow that blows the looks for me. If I owned one, I might try to buy some matching paint and just paint the chrome brow.

I can tell you the Honda door sounds better than the Toyota, more European than Japanese. However the fit and finish, and the details still lack the sophistication of the European. This is not expected since you are buying an economy family midsize sedan. Most glaring are the body panels don't seem to fit as consistent. While you have to look for these imperfections, I've seen better tolerance on the Toyota, and especially any European car.

    Top 5 problems 2018 Accord : (1) CVT (not a transmission) on all models except 2.0 Touring. (2 )
Turbo 4 cylinders is all Accord has 2018. (3) Not a single Accord model 2018 has a 360 degree bird’s eye top-down panoramic view back-up camera like Acura advanced, Camry, etc. (4)
Blind spot with cross traffic does not stop Accord 2018 if car cuts across your rear bumper but Camry does. (5) No side curtain air bag in 2018 Accord for the rear seat.

      1. All models with the 2.0T have a 10-speed auto and both the 1.5T and 2.0T Sport models can also be had with a 6-speed manual. And a CVT is most certainly a transmission, hence why it stands for, “continuously variable transmission”.
      2. The Accord Hybrid does not use a Turbo 4.
      3. Correct, there is no 360° camera on any Accord.
      4. Correct, there is no autonomous braking for rear cross traffic alert system.
      5. There most certainly are side curtain airbags for the rear seat, outboard passengers. There are SRS Airbag badges in the headliner in the rear seat.

New Accord? Way overpriced for that BS interior. $31,000 for a 2.0T and a cheapo cloth interior. No way. The Touring models have leather and fake woodgrain and are very nice. But who the hell wants a Touring?

Huh, at 4:58, "...you can cruise with out feeling the bumps under those low profile tires." So the Accord's low profile tires prevents the occupants from feeling bumps? Really???!!!That statement can lead to a plethora of false claims!!! Another Accord biased review.

Honda just cut their throat, first the CVT, now the turbo. Instead of designing a new normal engine, they placed a kid class civic engine in an Accord. I was going to trade my 2015 CRV for the new CRV except they put that junk turbo in. So I traded it for a good old 2018 RDX with V6 and 6 speed trans before Honda put a turbo and CVT in it too in 2019. Instead of a new Accord, I am going to buy my wife a new Camry with normal 4 cyl and normal trans. Good bye Honda. All that new styling aren't going to gain me back. I am looking or reliability, and couldn't care less about MPG liked other cheap skates.
