  • We give you the Mangrove Jacks Lucky Goat Pale Ale Review in 2 minutes (ish).
We've made this brew three times now and in general its a very versatile kits that you can take in almost any direction you want, depending on the additional ingredients you use.
If you want to brew this as a basics brew we would suggest using Liquid Brewing Sugar over Dextrose.
For Liquid Malt Extract we've done this with an Ultra Light and a Light. Using a Light will give it a malt character more consistent with a typical ale vs a pale Ale. The Ultra Light LME was more consistent with the Lucky Goat Kit - a very light malt character and still let the other elements of the brew come through.
Two LMEs that we think would also could work really well would be a Blonde or a Wheat.
There are a number of hop pairings that can work for dry hopping - in general anything fruity or citrussy will go well but note the flavour profile for the Lucky Goat is very delicate and it will be easy to mask the base flavours.
We've dry hopped this kit using Amarillo for one brew or for something more edgy we've also used the Nelson Sauvin. Others that would potentially work well would be Cascade, Citra or Galaxy.
