Hahaha I can relate to that.
My teachers had me paranoid and I hardly talked. From 4th to 6th grade, if you got in trouble (for little things like whispering in line) then you'd have to sit against the wall on the hot ground in the sun (I live in Arizona so summer really sucked, it would get up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit on some days). Teachers also yelled a lot and would call a lot of us stupid. I never talked unless they asked me a question and was terrified of doing something wrong without knowing. I am still super quiet, but I don't miss school at all lol

To explain recess for anyone wondering: basically in elementary school after lunch you would get a break, for me it was 15 minutes but it probably varies. It was outside, there was a playground we would play flag football tag etc.
In middle school for me there was a 10 minute break after lunch, but there was no playground and people didnt really get to do much. It was pretty much a time to talk with friends, sometimes outside if its a nice day but usually inside. By high school it didnt exist at all. People could choose to eat lunch outside (my school had some picnic tables and some benches and bleachers near sports fields) but other than that there wasnt really anything.
