  • One of the most abused Bible verses is 2 Corinthians 5:7. So what does it really mean to walk by faith and not by sight?
    1. “To Walk By Faith” Means You Live Your Life By Following Jesus
    2. Walking By Faith and Not By Sight Means You Consider Eternal Things and Not Just Earthly Things
    3. Walking By Faith and Not By Sight Does Not Mean You Never Plan and Never Use Wisdom

Having Faith in God means that we can trust that He will come to our rescue whether He chooses to "walk on water" to get to us or He chooses to send a boat instead!

I just want to thank you for ALL your work. God is really working through you. After a hurtful breakup i looked up how to deal with heartbreak on google and your online book The Ultimate Guide to Christian Singles came up. Well, after reading some of it, God really worked in my heart through your book and it made so much sense to me. I also started a Single Woman's Bible Study Group using your book as a guide. I just got the books and absolutely love them! I am so thankful for your work and may God bless you and your beautiful family. 🙏🏼 Keep up all your Godly work.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on this. In my current leap of faith, there is a lot of uncertainty, but this is also the latest in a roughly 8 year history of me and my wife walking by faith (although we have been Christians much longer than this). I want to share the super-condensed version of one of the leaps of faith from our walk of faith because it pertains to something you brought up at the end.
Now, I actually agree with what you said about the leaving a job without on lined up; in fact, this is why it took me two years to finally do this even though I believed God was calling me to leave from pretty much day 1 (if you don't count my orientation day where I didn't actually go to my desk). So, for two years, God was letting me know that He wanted me to leave, but I would always tell God, "okay, if you give me another job to go to, then I will leave this one and go to the other one," but every time, I heard in my spirit (not an audible voice, but like when God speaks to us when we read His Word), God saying, "no, that's not how it works. You leave this job in faith and obedience to Me, and then I will give you a much better job afterward." So, finally, after two years of going back and forth with God about this, I finally did it, and He confirmed I made the right decision by giving me a sign as soon as I submitted my resignation. Explaining the sign would add significant length to this post, so I won't go into that right now (but I do plan on making a CZcams video explaining all that, as well as all of our leaps of faith on a walk of faith).
So, now both my wife and I are without jobs (she had already left her job as part of another calling from God earlier), we had one child at the time and my wife was pregnant with our second child. I was a little freaked out by the situation, so I started applying for jobs like a madman. Immediately, I heard God speaking to my spirit, telling me to not apply for jobs, but that He would give me my next job, and that I would be hired without applying. I thought, "this is absolutely crazy. There is no way I can just not apply for jobs." So, I kept applying. Well, God made it clear that He was telling me to not apply by making, first one website crash when I was 100% done with my application and it wouldn't submit, so I lost everything; then on the next, different job, different company, different website, I got 99% done, website crashed; then this repeated for each successive application, each time a different job, company, website, etc.; 95%, crash; 90% crash; 85% crash... and on and on. Finally, it got down to when I started an application and I couldn't even enter information into any data fields - literally 0% completed and I couldn't move forward at all.
At this point, I think I threw my hands up in the air and I said, "OKAY GOD!! I get it!! You don't want me to apply for jobs. You will give me my next job without me applying for it. I don't know how. I can't imagine how, but I believe you."
So, I went to brush up my LinkedIn profile which was barely existent at the time; and lo and behold, there was a message sitting there from a recruiter that had been there for at least three weeks. Even longer story short, I got that job (which was its own amazing story: the manager was extremely hard to impress and had turned down people for months) and they hired me on making 150% the salary of the job I left in faith - all of this was done WITHOUT me even applying for the job. They only had me fill out an application as a formality AFTER I was hired. So, God fulfilled to the precise detail exactly what He said He would do, even from when He first was telling me to leave my previous job on my first day of work.
So, although I agree in principle that just randomly doing things is not always walking by faith, at the same time, like you said in your video, sometimes the Holy Spirit does call us to do things that appear unwise, according to earthly wisdom.
    God bless!

walking in faith: A person who builds a computer builds it by faith in the unseen scientific principles. "What are you doing putting strange pieces of metal and plastic in this outlandish arrangement?" But the builder knows what he is doing, and he is vindicated in his faith when the power turns on and the programmes run. WE WALK BY FAITH IN THE SAME WAY.
Just as the builder trusts in the unseen scientific principles, so we trust in the unseen nature of God. We learn his ways and learn to trust his character. If we are facing a mountain and God's character, his faithfulness to do as he said he will, says we must be able to walk straight through, then faith says the mountain will move. And it will.

good content but the part where you said David fighting Goliath was unwise is actually wrong .The wisdom of God does those things with men by depriving them of their natural strength or numbers so that whatever they do ,they not only wont have ground for boasting but Gods power and wisdom is seen. Those examples you gave were actually the best examples of walking by faith and not by sight

i also think that walk by faith means see God`s love with the heart not with physical eyes, because God made us for love. love can only be discovered by a heart, not mind, a sight. its in us in our souls not captured in a body, but the body is an evidence of His love. so, if you`re trying to see if He and His love is real, you have to do it as a soul that has feelings and a heart, not as a body-only creature, cause God simply can`t F O R C E us to love Him - it isn`t love if it`s forced, so He does everything for us to come to Him but in a gently way. Thats also a way of why satan still exists. God doesn`t want him to stop existing cause He loves him. So, God does everything so we could f e e l His love, not to be f o r c ed to feel it, cause love doesn`t seek its own. God made us so we could love Him, not as sleeves, but as friends, the one who wants us to be forced to something is satan bc he didn`t love. simple, yet brilliant truth, cause He wants us to be filled with LOVE, not with struggles, that`s why everything`s so simple, only satan tries to make it hard, bc he sees God`s love for us, and is jealous.
have a good fay everyone God bless you! sorry i needed to share mu experience and thoughts

@@lamarmills7986 _The 13th Apostle Paul was and is, a wolf in sheep's clothing._
_It should be noted that Jesus of course would have known about Paul even before Paul came._
_And indeed Jesus did foretell to his disciples of what (or who) was going to come during this time:_
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
John 14:29 *And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.*
John 14:30 *Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.*
_The person of Jesus' prophecy in John __14:30__ had to come in a relatively short span of time. Which is after Jesus' crucifixion (verse John __14:28__) and before all his disciples had passed away (John __14:30__)._
_Jesus' prophecy did come true during the very exact time Jesus foretold it would. (Which is during the remaining span of the disciples lives and while Jesus was not talking much with them.)_
_But why didn't Jesus tell his disciples after this came to pass? Because (John __14:29__) he told them it before it came to pass, that, _*_when it is come to pass, ye might believe._*
      Please note the following:
_Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (the 4 Gospels) are record of events which occurred while Jesus was talking much with his disciples._
_Paul epistles (13 letters) are record of events which came during the time Jesus was not talking much with his disciples. (During the very exact time Jesus foretold it would. Which is after Jesus' crucifixion and during the remaining span of the disciples lives and while Jesus was not talking much with them.)_
_Paul came teaching after Jesus' crucifixion and during the remaining span of the disciples lives while Jesus was not talking much with them. ( John __14:28__-30)_
      _What Paul teaches in Galatians:_
Galatians 2:7 *But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;*
Galatians 2:8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
_(In Galatians 2:7 Paul makes it clear that he (Paul) claims a gospel that is “contrariwise” to the gospel he claims was committed unto Peter.)_
Galatians 5:2 *Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.*
_(In Galatians 5:2 Paul makes it clear that he (Paul) says “that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.”_
_According to Paul; Peter was given [by God] an apostleship (Gal 2:8) or gospel (Gal 2:7) of circumcision. Paul then claims (Gal 5:2) “that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.”_
_Paul is claiming that Peter was given (followed and taught) a gospel in which “Christ shall profit you nothing.” (That is; an unprofitable gospel in Christ.) An unprofitable gospel is just another way of saying a false gospel._
_And if Peter followed an unprofitable gospel it would also be true of all of Jesus' disciples._
_I doubt Jesus would agree that Peter (and all his disciples) were given and committed (by God) to a gospel in which Christ shall profit [them] nothing._
_This "contrariwise" teaching only comes from Paul, who indeed came while Jesus was not talking much with his disciples. (John __14:28__-30)._
*_If anyone disagrees perhaps they can show a quote from Jesus saying that God committed Peter to a gospel that was unprofitable in Christ._*
      _Moreover:_
_Paul came teaching after Jesus' crucifixion and during the remaining span of the disciples lives while Jesus was not talking much with them. ( John __14:28__-30)_
Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as *I am the apostle of the Gentiles,* I magnify mine office:
_(In Romans __11:13__ Paul makes a clear claim to be “the apostle of the Gentiles”.)_
_(However before Paul came, and during the time (John __14:28__-30) that Jesus was talking much with his disciples; Jesus had already given instructions to his disciples to preach unto the Gentiles (teach all nations) and (into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.)_
Matthew 28:16 Then *the eleven disciples* went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
Matthew 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Matthew 28:19 *Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,* baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 *Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.* Amen.
_(In Matthew __28:16__ is concerning the now remaining 11 disciples.)_
_(In Matthew __28:19__ “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” All nations would of course include the Gentiles nations. Because Israel was the only nation that was not Gentile.)_
_More in the gospel of Mark:_
Mark 16:14 Afterward *he appeared unto the eleven* as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, *Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.*
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
_(Mark __16:15__ “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Does include all the Gentile people.)_
_And notice again in Matt __28:19__-20 Jesus gave them instructions to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” … “ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world..” (It appears Jesus says he would be with them as they did so, even unto the end of the world.)_
_The teaching that Peter was to preach to a different group of people is directly against, and is contrariwise to what Jesus told his disciple while he was with them and talking much with them. The contrariwise teaching (Galatians 2:7) came by Paul during the exact time that Jesus foretold about. Which is after the crucifixion and during the remaining time the disciples were alive, and while Jesus was not talking much with them. (John __14:28__-30)._
