I love how Tip actually pointed out the inconsistency of Jeanne not being suspicious of Dr. Sigurd. I mean, it's not like she was so suspicious of Viola that she straight up opened fire on her in Rodin's bar and immediately began questioning her on her abilities. Oh, but this random scientist that just so happens to know about the Alphaverse and has the same color pallette as the enemies they've been fighting? Nah, he's totally not an imposter or anything.

@@lolbots686 Even so, there is no way that Jeanne of all people, who is consistently described by Kamiya himself to be on par with, if not greater in power to Bayonetta, would ever be offed by something as stupid as the most generic twig of a lazer blade in the entirety of science fiction. I was waiting for Jeanne to give the guy a whole beat down during that scene, (with Singularity somehow escaping because plot), and yet he just backstabs her and that's it. Like really? So either Kamiya just really hates Jeanne for whatever reason, or he really is just that bad at writing a story.
@@ruinparadox4812 His story writing isn't bad, Bayos 1 and 2 and Okami had great story. The problem here is that powers and characters are nerfed to give the impression that we are dealing with a much greater threat and the stakes are higher.

When I saw French Bayonetta's Rosa I wondered why she is wearing a gold monocle, like a Lumen Sage does, as where the version we've seen previously is wearing glasses as seen with most Umbra Witches. I wonder if French Bayonetta's Baldur died instead of Rosa and she wears it to honor him.
He could have died to save her so their daughter had a mother to raise her.

Explaining the lore of Bayonneta 3 to a lizar is the most emotional "that's me" moment ever.

You know I just realized in Bayonetta 3 when you look at the character descriptions it shows that one and two have gone through almost identical paths they have both fought Jubileus that's because their the same person so that means the reason their separate is because Bayonetta had a haircut đđđđđ
I love the absolute sass had by Tip during this story's telling. It feels like bayonetta herself telling the story.
Also to explain things a bit more accurately, what happened on the moon is Bayonetta used her reality warping powers to free all of the souls of the previous bayonettas from the singularity. In so doing with their souls restored, their worlds came back as the power that universe vested in the bayonetta returned. The glitching you see is each of those bayonettas temporarily crossing over into Bayonetta 3's world in the same way that the jaunne fight in egypt worked. They're not actually there in Bayonetta 3's world but they are on the moon in their own worlds, fighting singularity in the same way bayonetta 3 and egypt jaunne fought. Once all hit, the singularity banishes himself from those worlds to solely focus on this bayonetta.
Jaunne comes back as well, though I'm more inclined to believe that she did die afterwords as she exploded into blue light.
Bayonetta 1 and 2 do show up... because they are also from completely different worlds. Bayonetta 2 experienced the same history bayonetta 1 did and bayonetta 3 is the cereza from bayonetta 1. Bayonetta 3 did not falter during the witch hunts and, 500 years in her future, found her father who she defeated though not in the same way bayonetta 1 did. Jubeleaus as well. She also defeated Loptr at the top of mt Fimblebenter, just not in the same way 2 did. 2 also defeated balder from 1, just not in the same way 1 *or* 3 did.
They're back because their souls were also trapped in the singularity fight on the moon, they just didn't join up until later when the bayonettas returned to manhattan. Why? No fucking clue. But thats how they're here. They may have gone to their own island of Thuule to use the portals there to travel to Bayonetta 3's world for a more... permanent fight against the singularity after he banished himself from the moon.
Is that all confusing and convoluted? YES. YES IT FUCKING IS.

That's only an interpretation of what happens during that scene, so unless Kamiya himself says that those Bayonettas are actually alive again and their world is restored then there's just as much leeway for that explanation not to be true as much as there is for it to be true.
Also the New York they fight in isn't the same from the Prologue, it's an alternative universe NY.
**Also** also the B2 design Bayonetta could very well be the Records Of Time one from the second game, not the one we play as in it. It doesn't necessarily imply that the first 2 games are different universes. (Cause otherwise that'd be such a shit retcon that fucks up the lore of this series).

That is... quiet the story that someone decided was going to be the plot of this game. Will give them credit for this, though - Viola does feel like exactly the sort of kid Cereza and Luka would produce, what a beautiful little hot mess. It overall feels like a lot of very cool ideas being executed rather poorly. Kudos to Tiptoe for making these two videos as comprehensive (and comprehensible) as they are.
Completely agree. feels like two games worth of story and character moments smashed into one very short game
the Egypt chapter was the saddest and my personal fav there was so much character and it played out like a tragedy when eventually everything was destroyed
Notes:
Final battle wasn't Eve Origin's home world, it's shown to be an alternate verse when you first arrive there.
Jeanne B3 WAS the Arch-Eve, but it moved to Bayonetta B3 after Jeanne died.
Singularity has control over the 'truth', so he can just decide that the truth is he isn't hurt, which is why he keeps getting up after being beaten down.

Though the "passing the torch" thing was handled kind of poorly. I just love how much Ex Machinas happens in the finale.
Just to be clear, you _are_ in Singularity's home turf during the last chapter, you just happen to fall in NY, the same way Wittingham Fair Bayonetta does. This is confirmed by the coordinates at the beginning of the verse when you get to NY. Same place, alternate universe.
29:36 I don't know why, but that line (that they are the most important people to him) made me realize that since Luka now absorbed all the Lukas, he IS now Viola's real dad, from her world. But this Bayo (Brave Cereza) isn't her mom.
Which begs the question, why isn't she going home to her real mom at the end of the game?
Viola got stucked in the Main Universe, Thule apparently is destroyed when the artifact was activated, and might be no Sigurd anymore to create another device like the one Connors Sigurd gave to Viola.

Honestly these two videos have actually made me pretty upset. This two videos together are honestly more a satisfying story telling experience than actually going through the games proper. The descriptions used make everything sound so grand a personal but when you get to the game itself it feels so much more deflated by comparison. I've been saying for a while now that what disappoints me in Bayo 3's story isn't so much what happens (I.E Bayo getting with Luka and dying as well as other things.) But how it goes about doing them. These videos show how a lot of the ideas on paper could have been fun but Platinum just dropped the ball on execution. Oh well, Fanfic Ho!

Honestly I feel like with more explicit explanation the story would be better, like an endgame approach where the rules of multiverses and timelines as well as this unique enemy we face are laid out in the beginning which cuts out most of the guesswork out for the player. I feel like the biggest problem with bayo 3's story is that it feels like two different games the first feels like your facing this new unknown threat as Bayonetta while the second half is an entirely different story arc that doesn't really have any impact it's still good but that's about it tbh

So reading the bios in game the bayos you see at 36:40 are the bayos from 1 and 2 the second game being a bayo that went through the first and second game while bayo 1 we only know as having gone through the first game in her universe. Cereza The bayo from this game is actually the child version of her from the first game thats why bayo 1 says what she does to Cereza when she shows up. The Bayo we see at the very start of the game that is viola's mom isnt Bayo 1 because in Bayo 1 she gives Cereza a red ribbon and if you pay attention Bayo 1 at 36:40 only has one ribbon while Viola's mom has 2 ribbons. Though its not confirmed i believe the Bayo that is Viola's mom is actually the Bayo from the movie since she never gives Cereza a ribbon.
Oooh, I was trying to say away from spoilers but this video just started playing and I couldn't stop watching the narration was amazing.
I can totally understand why people hate the story and ending for this, as do I.
It's all other the place and some of the deaths were unneeded.

I usually don't care too much about the story in the Bayonetta series, but this one was *so* badly done it brought down my enjoyment a little bit. Thanks for making as much sense outta this mess as you could, haha!
A lot of people hated Viola and seethed at her being Bayonetta... But I can see it, all the flaws she has make her something unique, and some like her Claustrophobia are good things that can be used for future growth, as she becomes a woman I'm sure she'll become more confident, and powerful. Her clumsiness though, that'll never go away, that there comes from Luka, and if anything that might make her more op and lucky.
The problem people have with her being "Bayonetta" is that she's different stylistically, thematically, and mechically than anything associated with the franchise. It's less like a child taking on the reins of their parents and more like switching Link from Zelda with Minecraft Steve all while getting rid of Ganon and Zelda.

@@Cytran I like that she has this need to prove herself, despite being so young, and I'm pretty sure her mother and as confirmed by Rodin, her dad want her to study and maybe have a semblance of a normal life, but also for her to enjoy her youth, she kinda tries to be cool like a grown up, and it usually backfires when Luka's inherited Clumsiness puts her in her place, which I theorize will eventually become a gag that will grant her some form of good luck in the future. Or it'll be like the recurring gag in MGR where Raiden gets a close call by scraping his chin.

And our Bayonetta got help from all the other versions of herself, making a Bayonetta army! But our big bad was to strong and unstoppable so he got rid of them! But then Bayonetta 1 and 2 appeared! (Ignore why it wasn't just Bayonetta 2, nostalgia! And didn't you love the first game?) It seemed like the tides had turned, but Singularity was to epic and had them on the ropes again, oh no!
Also, they never made it clear that thing was a AI. I thought it was Dr. Sigurd the whole time.
I love your videos! Although I don't believe Sigurd was taken over by Singularity, Sigurd IS Singularity. He had a variant of himself in the Alphaverse to keep it running (this variant may have been there against his will) and the Sigurd in Viola's world was in fact good. We didn't know that this world's Sigurd was lying to the good Sigurd of Viola's world in order to accomplish his goals. Also, most of what Singularity did was undone in the end. The city's destroyed are standing again, Enzo's family is alive again, and all other Bayonettas/Jeannes who's energy was stolen to power Singularity have been returned. The only 2 who didn't return were our world's Bayonetta and Luca (who has combined with all other Lucas). It's unknown if they truly went to inferno, or if his fairy powers took them elsewhere. But for now, Viola has taken up the mantle of Bayonetta in this world because of Cereza's absence.
The variant he was using was the real sigurd of our world who was fighting against him...singularity is a sigurd that was created in a GORC facility via an "anomaly" making him a fake human but he still discover and investigate the multiverse ...he prob is also from the future
@@frankus321 Right! The video claims Singularity took over Sigurd similarly to how it takes over the French Bayonetta and Rosa, which isn't what happened at all.
Singularity is the Sigurd from the alphaverse. He just switched places with the Sigurd from bayonettaâs world. So yeah, singularity didnât take over the other Sigurd. But singularity still isnât from bayoâs world.
Just a theory: I could imagine that before Singularity could destroy the small world bridge device, they would probably absorb its functions in a nanosec before crushing it, and maybe offscreen they may have absorbed the corpse of Conor Sigurd to portray Sidmeyers Sigurd, before killing him prior to the events of Chapter 1, all in the midst of Viola time-traveling to Brave Cerezaâs timeline. Another theory: While I got this from RakunX and Johto Johnny, I can agree that there was a lot of fairy magic involved. Starting with the Thule mechanization that broke down, the portal back to New York made by Luka/Lukaon (Luke-on), the passing of the witches projections, and Brave Luka and Cerezaâs kiss (all variants of them fused into one respectively, except for Cerezaâs remaining two), they all carry a blue essence/glow, all points head to Avalon Forest, the magical afterlife.

When the big vortex at the end appeared I was hoping they were going for a whole multiverse reset angle. Which, that particular world seemed to fix itself. But I was hoping the surprise twist would be that all the bayonettaâs were ok in their universes. Maybe they are and just this games girl canât come back since she actually got dragged to inferno instead of being absorbed in singularity
I love these games but I always appreciated your videos on them because I could never make sense of them on my own completely.
Love this game too but things don't completely mesh once it's over, hopefully a followup will retroactively make it all feel like some grand plan. lol

From what Iâve seen here, this feels like a game that was made so people could make compilation vids of CZcamsrs reacting to certain movements, like Bayo 1&2 popping up at the end, and the rest of the game in between was purely to get to those moments
i do feel we have a good set up for the fourth game in the series which i feel will be a combination of viola and bayonetta's story
the red and blue witch's universes were apparently destroyed and brought back together some how same with enzo's family so it could be deciphered that the universe viola was in reset and shes the new eve origin of that universe hence why bayonetta is gone and luka is still "active" in inferno. this could also imply the other universes that were destroyed at the hands of singularity are possibly reforming including viola's. i imagine a possible plot is viola traveling through inferno to find a way to meet her original possibly revived mother. its confirmed paradiso and inferno are linked to each universe and possibly have a Fimbulventr which acts as the entrance to inferno and paradiso meening we could also meet a lokki
now for bayonettas inclusion rodin could have told her and Jeanne about viola going through inferno to find her making a split yet unison story where on one half Cereza and Jeanne while the other half viola and lokki reunite and a possible antagonist could be many of the infernal demons and possibly a fully fledged form of queen shiba, and with luka vibing in inferno hed make appearances too
Tiptoe thank you for making sense of this! I love how in all your videos you effortlessly put the story together in such a way and explain the over all plot. And the bit about trying to explain it do the lizard was hilarious.
If I could give my thoughts on Bayonetta 3:
Maybe I am hopeful but part of me thinks that this Bayonetta in 3 is Little Cereza from Bayonetta 1. Where the plots of Bayonetta 1 and 2 do happen and run in a similar fashion in terms of how we get to point A and B they are their own separate entities. Rodin is noted as being the Only Rodin throughout the multiverse, and then the weapons of Scarborough Fair and Love is Blue are quoted as "Made by Rodin for a Witch in another World." (Paraphrasing here) So adds some hope that Bayonetta or the Bayonetta we know of hasnt been destroyed by Singularity. My hope is that the worlds did get returned/restored (explains why both Bayonetta 1 and 2 come to help Bayonetta 3 out. Plus how else did New York recover so damn quick from the flood plus Enzo's family are alive so it leads me to believe that things did get restored in some type of way.)
However I understand that this might not be the case and its not like Bayonetta is completely gone anyway considering how Rodin is keeping in contact with Luka, which means Bayonetta is not too far behind if that were the case. So there is a sliver of hope for Bayonetta to come back after Viola goes and does her thing.
Its just sad because I dont want to let Bayonetta go in Main continuity and for Bayonetta to die...to a plot that has ppl searching for answers online because the game did such a bad job at explaining everything (If we have to find it online to figure out the complete story or go through books published or other supplemental material to spell it out for us...the story telling is not what it should be presented by the game) kinda...breaks me a little. So I have hope yet I am still in my feelings about how this especially with the drama that happened prior to release.

This is perhaps wishful thinking but I like the interpretation that when the Arch Eves were released from singularity, it wasnât just their spirits but actually them which means their own realities were restored as well. And they stayed long enough to help Bayo but ultimately were dragged back to their own restored realities because technically they canât dimension hop like bayo or viola. With all realities restored, Bayo 1 and Bayo 2 are the only 2 Bayos that manage to dimension hop back into Bayo 3a reality to help her in the end before theyâre also sent back to their own timelines.

This in-depth analysis really emphasizes just how horrible the narrative was and how this franchise does NOT have a promising future. How could they have possibly believed it's a good idea to have Bayonetta games WITHOUT Bayonetta and half the characters that actually made the games memorable?
Great point. However, because this narrative is so shitty and most things are very unexplained, literally everyone (like Jeanne) might be alive and BayoLuka will have some way to escape Inferno if they want. Despite the fact that this world has very cool consequences (like Umbra witches being dragged to Inferno if they die in exchange for their demon contract), they leave easy retcons or further explanation for the future to determine whatever they want to do with these characters. They can also just continue with any other Bayo and Jeanne in another timeline like 1 or 2. This multiverse shit was so pointless though.

I think changing her design and redirecting the âtwistâ that sheâs BayoLukaâs daughter would help. I really donât like the overusage of purple in her design, but I think Platinum should have taken more time to develop her before giving her the family name. She has a lot of potential to be a fun side character, but she will never replace Bayonetta.

She may be the Bayonetta of the current universe, but there is genuinely no direction that we can see that Platinum will take with her. We just know Bayonetta will be continued âin a new generationâ. The negative reception towards the ending could still shape the way Bayonetta 4 will be produced, and I doubt Viola will be the only character of the next game. Platinum has got a lot of work to do, but Iâm sure they know they canât leave Cereza, Jeanne, and Luka out of the series. It seems like theyâre just going to expand on the faeries and Iâm down for that as long as we get more lore expansion of Paradiso/Lumen Sages and Inferno/Umbra Witches. They have potential to make Bayonetta 4 amazing while having Viola serve her role as the new Bayonetta while having Cereza come back one way or another. They could also bullshit Jeanne dying because even though she died and came back during the moon phase, if we interpret the glitching of the AU Bayoâs, Singularity, and Jeanne that could imply Jeanne is in another universe and even though she disappeared, we didnât actually see her die. The way Bayo 3âs world is restored implies that all of the other worldâs may be restored and maybe Viola has taken the mantle of Arch Eve just like Egyptian Jeanne was. I kinda hope they purged the multiverse but at the same time the poor storytelling fails to convey a clear image of what Bayonetta 4 will look like. Regardless of how it turns out, unless Platinum wants to purge one of its strongest IPâs, Viola will not be alone in her new role and Bayonetta 4 will (hopefully) be more thorough in executing what itâs setting up.

couldnât be, there only exists 1 Jubileus, so the events of what happened in Bayonetta 1 happening anywhere else besides the main universe timeline (Bayonetta 1&2) is impossible. Bloody Fate is also regarded as not being canon to the games by Kamiya too

Bayonetta 4 opens with the ending of Bayo 3, and then after "let's dance baby" Enzo suddenly awakes in his bed, screaming. Bayonetta woke him up with a gunshot aimed at his wall, telling him he's late and was having some kind of bad dream.
