Great cover! Your tone is pretty dark for slap. Not a bad thing just different. Even after playing 15 years I still don't have my thumb and pluck technique down yet. I have a technique like how Geddy Lee or John Entwistle has where they use their finger pads to hammer the strings like in a piano. I find it gets the same sound as the thumb slap, though plucking is still a "pluck" lol. I use D'Addario Pro Steels. Nice and bright!
The soapbar pickups you have are they passive with active EQ?
