Hello, can you please tell me the difference between 1KD & 2KD oil pump ? i am a part seller, still i don't know very clearly the difference between two of them
It's off-putting to see an engine being rebuilt when it's sitting on a dirt floor. How difficult is it to pour some concrete and work on clean, sterile metal work bench on a clean dirt-free concrete floor? "But we've been it doing like this for years" Hyundai/Kia just had a recall for their 4-cylinder "Theta II" engines - metal debris left-over from killing the crankshaft eventually found its way into connecting rod bearings - "rod knock" and eventual a engine seized. So dirt/debris may not immediately show up , but it very well may. Why take a chance?

Are these 1KD engines really good or problematic
Not fuel efficient, but has good power packed. Not a recommended engine for day to day use. I prefer 2kd over 1kd.
1kd engine quite okay service at the right time (5000 km) with quality products & prompt maintenance.
