    Such a beautiful painting to start off your new journal. It amazes me how you can put pencil to paper, sketch a drawing freehand then end up with a masterpiece. Stunning work by a very talented young woman. I love watching your videos Kirsty.

      I also agree with you about the ‘Faber Castell’ Pencils as they are so much higher quality than Derwent in general! The only set by them which I particularly adore are the ‘Derwent Inktense’ Pencils, but I do also like their ‘Derwent Signature’ Pencils too, I just wish I had gone for the Watercolour Version when I got them instead of the standard pencils as they would have been soooo much more versatile just like the ‘Derwent Inktense’ Pencils!

    I'm inspired. I just drew my 1st sketch in my 1st watercolor journal. I'm going to make it a nature journal. My pic is of a flower that grows in my front yard every year. It climbs between to trees that are close together. My Mom used to own this house & she put lattice up between the trees & planted the seeds. So I love them even more because my Mom planted them many years ago. So I have these huge purple, & magenta, Hawian looking flowers that grow between 2 trees higher than my roof. I wish I knew the name of them. I had to make them my 1st page. Now I only need to paint it. I just got the new Arteza watercolor pencils. I can't decide whether to use them or my reg. watercolors. Anyway, your pic is beautiful. I love it. TYFS

Myself we lived in Toronto Canada but my great grandparents are resting in Pasadena. I too have kinda lost my will lol to draw but mainly to pain. Wonderful neuropathy now . Emma Jane Lefebvre, watercolor artist shared with viewers of her struggles with depression... Shayda Campbell, also from Canada (like Emma) watercolor artist, recently shared her struggles in a very open discussion... so helpful. I also listened to a podcast called The Lies of Perfectionism with Sandi Hester utube artist and her friend Joanne .... that was yesterday. The link was in Sandi's video... profound... I pray you'll be encouraged. With love from a California Gramma ❤️ (southern California in North San Diego County)

      @MrJpm1989 Před 2 lety +1

      @@annenglish2935 Thank you again so much and God bless you. There are very few I could speak of that have lived a most perfect life. Myself having my father pass when I was 1 then mother at 15. My beautiful son passed at 19 from Muscular dystrophy then 20 year marriage gone. Lost a bit for 10 or so years then a brain infection in 2012. Told I wouldn't make it then 5 weeks in the hospital then my life totally changed. No pituitary gland and many pills per day just to stay this side up. Imagine waking up each day after only 3 to 5 hours sleep and feeling like you have the flu. Well believe it you can actually get use to it but not the roller coaster effects of feeling ok then so ill you can barely make it to the bed. This too can be grown accustom to but the next little joker im having an issue getting around. Its called neuropathy and this one bites . Before this I spent close to 2 years going to the hospital and being treated for cellulitis but this wasn't the case at all. Turns out they never found out why my legs looked like they had bad burns and that the skin was breaking up with bad sores. Nothing that 1 prendesone per day for 5 month then stop and so far this one is still on vacation. All and all I think I have had a pretty good life considering the few bumps I have hit. I use to judge all that happened to me but when I was told that my beautiful baby boy would never drive a car or take that special someone to the graduation I realized that I have been a witness to this life and as long as I was just that I would think less of myself and more for what I was seeing. Drawing and painting is something I had always wanted to do . I worked as a chef/professional cook in hotels and fine dining rooms in Toronto and other areas , even competing in Chicago at the pre Olympics so sure the art side came out in many gold and silver medals in full programs and show pieces like fat carvings. Did I forget to say that my mothers side is Irish and English he he . I never speak of myself but for some reason this came out. If I had many wishes one would be that the world would be full of wonderful, loving people like you. You have recharged my humanity battery with our talks and I pray that all you roads be sunny with green grass and the most beautiful flowers one could ever see.♥️🙂.

I didn't think they would turn out a patenting like a regular painting like if you used regular watercolor paint from tubes or pallets..... nice work! And great job on the bravery of trying out a new medium. I would be scared to try it out because the what if i waste my money question would pop up. I wouldn't think you can return the pencils if i didn't like them....

    that emerald green is ASTONISHING. WOW.
    specially just how screens don't show well the in-betweens of RGB

    A set of new pencils... GOALS! I love pencils, I guess even I haven't done a single artwork in the last 2 years, my heart still goes for it!
    The HQ of Faber-Castell is just 20 min away from my home, so I actually have a lot of the Albrecht Dürrer watercolor pencils without ever buying a set, because they sold their selected seconds mostly with a broken tip... also they had some changes in their color palette a few years ago, so they sold the rest of the discontinued colors there as well!

    I really love the gradient idea for your watercolour chart :) I'm still learning how to use watercolour pencils and still keep on pressing down too hard for lighter areas in my drawings!

    Thank you Kirsty for this wonderful video. I like the idea of filling in the colour chart, that would help enormously. I love your final painting. Happy Christmas to you and everyone. Best wishes Ann in South Australia.
