I love 3d printed 26.5mm flares loaded with smokeless powder, a shotgun primer, and potassium nitrate+sugar smoke compound. They're tons of fun and make lots of smoke.

They need to make a chad version (as you said plastic or aluminium casing) with an extra 50-100% fill on the compound. Those are right on the edge of being quite useful for training. The color saturation is quite nice. If they gave it the more chooch with the same 90 second or less burntime id buy a case. But it for sure needs to be tinned.
the company Enola gaye makes several different models including a high output version, and a mock version of the mk18. you wont be getting them enclosed in metal though as their primary market is airsoft and paintball.

@@djcoopes7569 I dont think weight is the concern when carrying smokes. just the sheer size of them prevents you from carrying a lot. I don't think a thin plastic shell isnt going to help that very much. plus you've got to consider the cost to manufacture those new cases vs the affordability of cardboard. The current EG-18X is absolutely badass, and the price is right. I'm not paying extra for a psychological boost.

@@djcoopes7569 In that aspect you're right, But I still think the economics of the cardboard is an aspect lost on the criticism of this product.
You should look at the Enola Gaye Mil-X smoke grenade. Its got everything you'd want in a civilian accessible smoke.
Is ShutterBombs just a distributor? Did Enola Gaye re-brand as ShutterBombs? Or is there a knock-off situation here? Because I am confused - I've purchased and used some of these exact grenades from Enola Gaye (my understanding is that this was the name of the company as well as the product line) through distributors like airsoft stores. Their official website is still up. But also so is this ShutterBombs site, but it makes no reference to Enola Gaye, even though the devices are still marked as EG. What is going on?
I can ask if they rebranded or if they’re just another distributor.
