I know the drums are just a paradiddle during the soft bits just before the 2 minute mark (least thats what it sounds like between the snare and ride) but god damn is it clean sounding and really adds to the part

Jazz breaks are amazing, and you can throw 'em into just about anything. Breakcore is a genre literally about jazz breaks, specifically the classic "amen break" from The Winstons- Amen Brother.

Jazz was the first to use 8 string I believe, but it was for clean stuff not distorted.
