A.R.P.U. - which stands for ‘average revenue per user’ - is a short dystopian film inspired by the Netflix documentary ‘The Great Hack’ and the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The film explores our relationship with our online data, and what could happen when we give it away so freely.
Maeve Fairfeld is a woman who seems to have it all; a loving family, wonderful home and successful career. That is until Mr Jones knocks on her door. An employee of Tekhnes, the tech giant that owns everything from your fit watch to your home hub, he is here to call in a debt. With her most personal information laid on the table as currency, Maeve must play a dangerous game of cat and mouse in order to protect her family and her way of life.

Call it a warning, call it predictive programming... we are going there.
Oh fuck wow, I'm only in 7 minutes in and I gotta to say the camera work, editing, lighting, acting and especially the script are on point. Those little subtle hints that Mr. Jones already gives during the introduction, the credits at the beginning with superb tracking and shadows, the slight camera push-ins, the blocking, the composition ... I could go on and on .. .Chefs Kiss, really. That's damn good work for a short film. I am very impressed and can only learn a lot from them. I'm definitely excited to see how the story develops and the resolution...
This would make an interesting full movie

A rude awakening finding you should have read terms and all that stuff. But who reads that stuff anyway? Once you've read one, aren't the rest about the same? Well, maybe not. Nice short film. Well written and acted.
That was a brilliant short and to be honest, it is a real shit, if i think about all the data we willingly and unwillingly are sharing with whomever...I am really thinking about, which one of the familiy is changed in terms of paying back the debt? At first i thought, the mother has changed herself, then i thought maybe the mother has changed both, herself and her daughter, bc she didn't want her daughter to be alone. At the end i wad thinkling maybe she changed her husband, bc she has troubles with the marriage and the living with him.....i love it, if i can think about all such stuff happening in the movie, after finishing it^^
I have to say, i really like this little movie, perfect shoot in every angle, very good actors and the story was interesting, disturbing and real at the same time! Very good job!
The aspect that the "mother" changed her habits and provided a commercial justification for doing it didn't give it away that she gave up HERSELF in place of her daughter? Even the husband realized that there was something in the discussion.
GOOD ONE.......i usually pass on short [ and long , for that matter ] " sci-fi here on utube , but this was as i like sci-fi to be , predictive and intelligent...subbed for as long as you keep up the good work
