My animation tab is not clickable. i cant apply any effect.
what could be the reason. thank you

My guess is you don't have something selected that you can apply an animation to. Try this:
      1. Insert a rectangle on your slide
      2. Select the rectangle with your mouse
      3. Navigate to your Animations tab
See if that solves it for you.
Often times when something is greyed out or not clickable in PowerPoint, it means you've either (a) selected something that cannot have that effect applied to it, or (b) you don't have the correct thing selected.

how do I delete picture but not the placeholder ?

Hi there - if you have a picture inside a placeholder, you can delete the picture and then hit 'Reset' on the Home tab. If the template is built correctly, the placeholder will reappear, empty.

Agree that these shouldn't be called Templates. They are Slide Layouts. I've yet to find any "free templates" that actually use the Slide Master feature in PowerPoint. Therefore, after finding a collection of slide layouts that I like, then the first step is to convert (manually) them into slide layouts so that the presentation can be properly produced.

Totally agree and it sounds like you are doing this the CORRECT way. Find a free template, use it for inspiration and then set it up properly :). There are a few that I've found that DO use the slide master like. Check out the first two in my video here: czcams.com/video/ynuVhMmqLuk/video.html

@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining I even got a refund from Envato after I paid and discovered that their "30,000 Presentation Templates" proved to be nothing more than slide layouts. They suggested that the refund was a "one time thing", making me feel like they were doing me a favor by issuing a refund.

@@JBHaber Yes... there are a few templates we recommend from Envato, but most are as you said: Not Real Templates. If we were more than a two-person show, I would consider creating a REAL PowerPoint template website service. Real PowerPoint Templates for Real PowerPoint People :). Glad they gave you the refund!
