It came out so GOOD!! When I first started I used curtains , sheets, and pillow cases lol and I still would tbh. You get a lot more yardage for the price especially if you’re making summer clothes I say GO FOR IT !!

Supah cute! I’ve recently bought a couple of thrifted bedsheets just to use for sewing because I want to get into it without spending a ton of $. I bought a retro dress pattern and started cutting out the pieces. Now I want to make a skirt like this! It’s a little nerve wracking but there are tons of youtubers who share sewing tips, etc.

Girl 😭😭the shirring is what pulls in the waist - you decided not to do the required (for the pattern) shirring so of course it would not fit! Adding elastic and shirring elastic is completely different! It's a better idea to use a pattern that's EXACTLY what you want ❤❤❤ You did really well though!!
girlllll i get what you’re saying but the skirt had way too much fabric everywhere! shirring a couple inches at the waist wouldn’t have changed that
