    love all your recipes and I have been "dabbling" in Chinese food for decades sadly never really watched my father who was pure Chinese when he did his thing in our kitchen and as much as I hate those ramen things they do make a quick noodle dish when I don't have the chow mein ones around

    Chrissy Harley Try and add some potato starch to the marinade. And also make sure to use top quality seasoning ingredients. Use dragon fly or Lee kum kee premium oyster sauce and Lee Kum Kee double deluxe soy sauce. Also 2 tablespoons of sesame oil is waaayy too much as it can be overpowering.

    A lot of people are saying there is too much sesame oil in the recipe. To be honest I love sesame oil so really... each to their own. Stir fry recipes I find are easily adjustable according to each individual's taste. There is no right or wrong.. I mean come on.. I am sure many people have asked "mum/dad" how much [insert ingredient] do I add to this? Their response: I don't know!!! Just use your taste buds! or something along the lines. It's worse if your parent is a professional cook/chef... conversation normally ends up being... Aiya it's too hard to explain just sit and I cook it for you!

    Thankyou :) Questions if I may..
    When I was young I was told that ginger was for seasoning, but not to eat it, is ginger digestible to the body, and safe to eat? Also, how to preserve the Ginger if not using all of it in cooking? Lastaly, ShaoXing Wine, when opened, do I store it in fridge, or on counter, how long will it last before becoming bad?

    • @elmo41088
      @elmo41088 Před 5 lety +2

      yes you can digest ginger. (try looking up Hainanese chicken with ginger sauce (which lotsss of grated ginger, spring onions and other seasoning, it is to die for)) I store my Shao xing wine in the pantry and it stores for a very long time.. Shao xing is really just your usual cooking wine but Chinese :-)

      She’s doing a great job at what she does, that should be enough. Can you imagine being a TV chef and having fans upset because you don’t respond? You wouldn’t expect Gordon Ramsey to sit down and play ‘pen pals’ with online fans, let’s not put the same expectation on Ching.

    Needs MSG. Why, Ching, do you not use it? I put it in most things. After all every Chinese restaurant and takeaway in the UK uses the stuff.
    Still love you though. ❤

    If you look closely , she had put cornflour in the marinade chicken. Why this was not mentioned or shown in the video is hilarious ,it is very common in Chinese cooking. What you trying to hide Ching?

    A GREAT RECIPE BUT I HOPE THOSE "CHINESE" SAUCES ARE FROM A REAL CHINESE MARKET AND NOT GENERIC. VH SOY SAUCE HERE IN CANADA MUST HAVE 23 INGREDIENTS NOT NEEDED IN SOY!!!

  • @wakaoeh
    @wakaoeh Před 9 lety

    isn't oyster sauce actually MSG. it has MSG as its ingredient.

    • @kenRoberts1984
      @kenRoberts1984 Před 9 lety +6

      No, it's made from oysters. MSG is added as a "flavour enhancer" look for that on the ingredients. If you see "flavour enhancer" it's MSG, which is plant based sodium. So, MSG is ok, but in small amounts.

    • @brandon3872
      @brandon3872 Před 7 lety

      Many brands of oyster sauce contain MSG, but you can buy MSG free oyster sauce such as Wok Mei All Natural Oyster Sauce.
