Reagan can you do a brandon sanderson recommendations / explanation video I always get overwhelmed by the amount of books he has and don’t know where to start ( everything seems to be a part of the same series to me for some reason 😂!!!)
I can help! You're actually right about all of it seeming like the same series. Most of his books (basically anything that doesn't take place on Earth) take place in a shared universe called the Cosmere, and there are several character cross-overs between the books, but you don't need to understand it all to enjoy the books on their own. If you are interested in his adult fantasy, I would start with the Mistborn trilogy. If you love that, you can move on to the Wax and Wayne series (though it isn't finished), or Elantris or Warbreaker (which are Cosmere standalones). Stormlight Archive is another Cosmere series; it is three books into the planned ten. There are also several novellas and short stories set in this universe. If you don't care as much about the Cosmere, you can always read the Steelheart series, which is an interesting take on super-heroes. There's Rithmatist, which has chalk-based magic (cooler than it sounds...), and he's coming out with a new book (next week!) called Skyward, which is a YA sci-fi. I hope that helps... It is overwhelming, but so worth it!
I think that might have to do with all the books talking place in the Cosmere (name of Sanderson's book universe). I only read Mistborn (original and alloy era) and would say you can start with that one fine. I don't know a lot about his bibliography though. But I'd say start with what you wanna start with.
I read Warbreaker this month as well, it was my first Brandon Sanderson book I've read and I was absolutely blown away by it as well. I was worried his books would be a little dense but they are so humorous and the character writing is so clever. I was amazed how quickly I was invested in each and every one of the story arcs in this book.
Thank you so much for getting me into Brandon Sanderson so much this year! I read every book you did except that other Mistborn book but I am planning to!
I have started Brandon Sanderson books.. Started with Mistborn trilogy.. Finished two books.. Gosh I really loved it.. The magic system is soo unique I think I haven't read it before.. Thanks for the recommendation regan..
I've spent the month reading mainly children's and middle grade books for school, breaking them up with a few manga volumes and a memoir. Very good month for me all around.
Love your videos so much! You're espacially an inspiration in case of High and Epic Fantasy. Last finished I've "A Gathering of Shadows" and currently I'm reading "The Dream Thieves". After that I'll probably start "Kingdom of Ash"
Hey girl, great wrap up! All the books you read this month sound awesome! I saw in your vlog that you were unhappy with your hair. I don't know if you had it re dyed, BUT the blonde high lights and the darker base is making your face light up! You look great!
I love Warbreaker SO much. It’s my favorite of his books and one of my top favorites in general 🌟 I have Truly Devious saved on Scribd and now I really want to dive in!
I've been devouring Seanan McGuire this month, in audio form on my commute to/from work. Finished 2 & 3 in the Wayward Children series, also "Dusk or Dawn or Dark or Day" is one of my new all-time faves. 😁
I just bought Warbreaker in Mass Market paperback from BAM. Still reading Well of Ascension, but I'm also reading some library book and want to get at least two done before or by November 9th.
Still fighting with a reading slump so I've only read two books this month (both 5/5 reads) Vicious and Children of blood and bone. It took me over a week to read Vicious but I flew through Children of blood and bone it was so good!
Wow! So many great books! 😍 And I'm here struggling through 4 books right now. Well 3, because I'll be finishing one today 😁 Lovely video as always Regan! I love watching your videos ❤️❤️
I just finished reading Educated by Tara Westover. It was an incredible but very intense memoir. I wanted to switch gears from that so now I am reading Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, which is great so far!
Greetings!! The books I've read in October---Strange Weather, War Breaker, Strange Dreams (collected Stories and poems and drawings by Brian Andreas) Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and A Map of Days...that's all for this month!!!
Im all in on Kingdon of Ash, only like 22% in and yes it will take a while ha but debating starting a murder mysery at the same time for some balance and breaks.
I read Mistborn in January and Warbreaker in May. Warbreaker is by far my favourite book of the year, and Mistborn are up there too. I’m obsessed with Brandon Sanderson now. Currently reading Elantris and really enjoying it. Have you read that one? I haven’t read the Stormlight Archives yet, I’m getting there 😅
I haven’t really read much recently, but the main ones I’ve finished are Bad Girls Don’t Die which was a really fun and spooky read, and I FINALLY finished Queen of Shadows which was AMAZING. I started Empire of Storms today and it’s just as good as Queen of Shadows so far but I’m gonna try to get to like page 100 tonight and finish it next week so I can move on to Tower of Dawn and Kingdom of Ash.
I'm currently reading warbreaker, my first Brandon Sanderson book ehhe. He says its a good start for people who like books with a romance. So yeah xD Big books are scary but I am loving it
Currently reading “the red pyramid “, by rick riorden ( I have read the Percy Jackson series and heroes of Olympus) after reading the Kane chronicles me and my cousin are reading the magnus chase trilogy in spring break .... and we will read trials of Apollo after the series ends . PLEASE DO A KINGDOM OF ASH SPOILERY REVIEW
I'm so happy with what I read this month! Think I read around 11 books!!! I never read that much xD I've just filmed my wrap up but know it's gonna be a pain to edit haha! I think I'm warming more to trying out Vicious.. it sounds like I'd enjoy it, but I have a feeling I'd probably get to her ghost book before this
Can you please make a video going over how to read the Brandon Sanderson books within the Mistborn world??? I'm so confused! There is the Mistborn book that has that gross mass market cover and then the uk one starts with The Final Empire as the first in the Mistborn trilogy and now you are saying its a trilogy of trilogies. HELP!
It’s not a trilogy of trilogies anymore; Alloy of Law is the first of the Wax and Wayne/Second Era quartet. It directly relates to the following two and I assume the upcoming fourth.
I hadn't heard that he was abandoning the trilogy of trilogies. As far as I know, Wax and Wayne is meant as a transitional series between the first two trilogies. I'm interested if there is a new development though. Do you have a source link, by chance?
As far as I’m aware, Allow of law is part of era 2, but it’s more of a stand-alone with the same characters as the second trilogy (as the AOL author’s note states). And on Brandon Sanderson’s website he said that he wants to focus on completing some of his other series before moving on to Era 3, so I think he’s postponing it, not abandoning it completely
I’ve read all three and Alloy of Law definitely doesn’t seem like a standalone book compared to the next two. Nor do I find any mentions of it being called that on his site. As far as the “trilogy of trilogies” here’s what I’m basing my comment on. brandonsanderson.com/state-of-the-sanderson-2017/ He references Wax and Wayne 4. brandonsanderson.com/state-of-the-sanderson-2016/ He discusses the “bridge series” problem. “Because of fan outcry, we’re just going to call the Wax and Wayne books “Era Two” of Mistborn from here out, and I’m sorry for the “Era 1.5 fiasco” of last year. That would have worked if I’d started calling it that from the get-go, but it’s too late now.” brandonsanderson.com/state-of-the-sanderson-2015/ He talks about the expansion of the original intent. “The original pitch was for three trilogies. The Wax and Wayne books expanded this to four series.” brandonsanderson.com/two-more-mistborn-novels/ He calls AOL a sequel, not a standalone “On my tour, I frequently read from the first chapter of a new novel in the Mistborn world, a sequel to The Alloy of Law.”
Midnight Moonlight I didn’t mean he was abandoning the series, just that it wasn’t just trilogies any more given that second Era is 4 books, and given that he now plans four Eras instead of just 3. (Next will be set closer to modern time, and then one in the future)
Do you know what happened to the Shades of London series by Maureen Johnson? I know this series isn't the same but it just sort of makes me worried that's she gave up on the Shades of London.
Reagan can you do a brandon sanderson recommendations / explanation video I always get overwhelmed by the amount of books he has and don’t know where to start ( everything seems to be a part of the same series to me for some reason 😂!!!)
Oh yes, I'd also really like something like a guide to Brandon Sanderson's books!
I can help! You're actually right about all of it seeming like the same series. Thank youuu that definitely helps a lot ! It still feels overwhelming but I think i can handle it 🙈!!!
Elliot brooks has done a video about Brandon Sandersons books
I think that might have to do with all the books talking place in the Cosmere (name of Sanderson's book universe).

Wait what? I thought the series was wrapped up :( I’ve just started reading The Madness Underneath and I hate reading an unfinished series
Reagan have you given up on Devil in the White City?
queria legenda em português do Brasil
I hated Bridge of Clay.
