Gemma is such a good actor in this scene. Barely containing her pity and worry behind the mask of Anita as she looks around to see if anyone is watching. The way she can just make you know what mia is feeling without saying a word is done beautifly

I was drawn to show because of the character of Anita. Besides my Anita crush, Humans is a great series & I really enjoy all the episodes.
The thing I find somewhat implausible in the series is the disparity of technology that seems to exist! the synths are light years ahead of any humanoid robots we have today and yet everything else is more or less the same as it is today! I would have thought that a slight "near future feel" would accompany such advanced robotics considering we probably won't have anything approaching this for many decades.

Paradise Noir Yeah, I don't think we'll have synths anytime soon! the timeline of the first prototype synths suggests the tech has been around as long ago as the late 1990's I think of a film like Bicentennial man as a more plausible timeline for androids existing, we have highly advanced synths in "humans" yet the cars the laptops and phones are exactly the same as they are in the present time! I'm thinking electric cars everywhere holographic interfaces minority report style billboards! a bit like BTTF2 minus the flying cars.
you say the synth tech is light years ahead but actually it isn't. we have fully functional prostetic limbs where probes are placed in the brain and map movements, how much of a leap would it be to track the chemical markers for emotions? we can create synthastetic skin which feels real to the touch, realistic hair. we can track motion and movement. so I don't think it would be all that difficult to create a synth similar to this tv series, maybe not quite to their level but still it is possible
