- Cindy Williams Intense Last Interview 24 Hours Before She Died| Warning Signs Were There
In this video I react to the sudden death of Cindy Williams and some of her last Interviews speaking about her career as we remember her legacy and life as an actress
Cindy Williams, made famous for her portrayal of Shirley on the hugely popular "Laverne & Shirley" has died.
A family statement Monday announced her death, "The passing of our kind, hilarious mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed.” It continues, “Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved.”
Williams played alongside Penny Marshall on the popular sitcom for it's 8 seasons from 1976 to 1983. "Laverne & Shirley" was a spin-off of "Happy Days."
The show had a ton of success, at one point becoming the most-watched sitcom in The United States and netting 6 Golden Globes nominations and one Emmy nomination.
Williams left "Laverne & Shirley" during the 8th season when she became pregnant. However, her career saw her take on projects on Broadway, make guest appearances on shows like "8 Simple Rules" and even reunite with Penny Marshall on an episode of "Sam & Cat" in 2013.
Williams worked with some of Hollywood’s most elite directors in a film career that preceded her full-time move to television, appearing in George Cukor’s 1972 “Travels With My Aunt,” George Lucas’ 1973 “American Graffiti” and Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation” from 1974.
But she was by far best known for “Laverne & Shirley,” the “Happy Days” spinoff that ran on ABC from 1976 to 1983 that in its prime was among the most popular shows on TV.
Williams played the straitlaced Shirley Feeney to Marshall’s more libertine Laverne DeFazio on the show about a pair of blue-collar roommates who toiled on the assembly line of a Milwaukee brewery in the 1950s and 60s.
They were beloved characters,” Williams told The Associated Press in 2002.
DeFazio was quick-tempered and defensive; Feeney was naive and trusting. The actors drew upon their own lives for plot inspiration.
“We’d make up a list at the start of each season of what talents we had,” Marshall told the AP in 2002. “Cindy could touch her tongue to her nose and we used it in the show. I did tap dance.”
Williams told the AP in 2013 that she and Marshall had “very different personalities” but tales of the two clashing during the making of the show were “a bit overblown.”
The series was the rare network hit about working-class characters, with its self-empowering opening song: “Give us any chance, we’ll take it, read us any rule, we’ll break it.”
That opening would become as popular as the show itself. Williams’ and Marshall’s chant of “schlemiel, schlimazel” as they skipped together became a cultural phenomenon and oft-invoked piece of nostalgia.
Marshall, whose brother, Garry Marshall, co-created the series, died in 2018.
The show also starred Michael McKean and David Lander as Laverne and Shirley’s oddball hangers-on Lenny and Squiggy. Lander died in 2020.
As ratings dropped in the sixth season, the characters moved from Milwaukee to Burbank, California, trading their brewery jobs for work at a department store.
In 1982, Williams became pregnant and wanted her working hours curtailed. When her demands weren’t met, she walked off the set, and filed suit against its production company. She appeared infrequently during the final season.
Rest in power queen
Did she take the jab,?
😭
Of course, Hollywood is pushing it for us.
She was 75..she died of old age...end of story.
Just like Like L&S director Gary Marshall
and his sister Penny Marshall did..RIP
@@barbaradascalos4411: Duh, 75 is not THAT OLD!
@@reneechaplin8686 I said the same thing 75 is not that old and the brief illness was definitely the vaccine. My all time favorite is gone forever 💔 thus one hurts
Both Laverne and Shirley were comedic geniuses. 0nly women that compare were Lucy and Ethel. The greatest compliment ever. Pure chemistry
Carol Burnett and Vicki Lawerance were pretty good too.
@@ecobean3440 100% correct .
@@ecobean3440 I was getting ready to comment that myself! Glad someone else mentioned Carol and Vickie!
Took my Mom to meet Cindy Williams and attended her show Me. Myself & Shirley last April in Newton, NC. She was incredibly gracious and kind. Thank you Cindy for your art , lots of laughs and for making the world a brighter place. ❤
I really wish Cindy had lived to 100. She would have been my generation's Betty White. Much Love. 🧡🧡🧡🧡
It’s so good to hear her voice. I thank her for making Tuesday nights wonderful when growing up. Rest in peace, Cindy Williams. You will be missed. God is going to enjoy your humor.🙏🌹
Yes they can do a reunion show of Laverne and Shirley in Heaven and make God laugh ;-)
Very Classy!!!
My Youth Is Slowly Dying..😪RIP CINDY
I will always remember her in my favorite movie "American Graffitti" from 1973. RIP CINDY
It's absolutely one of my Top 5 all-time favorite flicks! She was such a pretty young lady.
@GjpgrD She appeared on The Perry Mason movie series in the late 80's
I grew up watching "Laverne and Shirley" and Ms. Williams always made me laugh, feel and smile in every episode. Her other roles were just as enjoyable, as she seemed to do her best to bring every character she played to life. Learning how beloved she was by those who knew her just underscores what a special and relatable person she must have been. May her memory be eternal; and sincere condolences to those who knew her.
Me too! This is a sad day indeed.
Loved Laverne and Shirley. Wish we had shows like this to watch now to make us laugh. Instead TV shows are awful with much death and destruction. RIP Cindy.
We had the best shows back then. Great time to be alive
I also missed seeing Cindy Williams on Laverne and Shirley for one year. Rest in Peace.
R.I.P.
THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU...🌹
Rest In Peace Ms Cindy Williams. Thank you for your amazing talent in the Entertainment world. I love watching, “Laverne & Shirley “ growing up in the 70’s. Your legacy lives on. 🙏🏽💕
I loved Laverne and Shirley! RIP Cindy 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'd been binge watching Laverne & Shirley recently. RIP to both comedic geniuses. Loved their physical comedy.
P
Cindy will always be our "Girley Shirley." RIP 🧡🧡🙏
Always liked her seemed like a true genuine person and lovely also.
I loved watching the show Laverne and Shirley. I will try to watch the repeat shows.
I love Cindy Williams, watched her my entire life throughout her career. One thing I've not hear accredited to her is Touched by the Angel. That episode with her was one of the best they did. My only thing about this, it would have been nice, really nice, to see her in the interview instead of constant moving of repetitive slides. Regardless, thank you for sharing.
Both of them amazing artist! Grew up watching Laverne & Shirley. That was an amazing show
When i was a kid (and now) i loved Shirley Feeney more than Laverne Dafazio. She looked beautiful right up to the end. Love her very dark brown/black hair, naturally pale skin, and red lipstick (on L&S)
I'm watching the box set I bought yrs ago of Laverne and Shirley in memory of Cindy. I watch it at least once a year simply bc it was one of my favorite comedies. I'm only 5 yrs younger than Cindy. You just never know when you'll draw your last breath. RIP Cindy, you and Penny were our treasures. :o)
Loved her in American Graffiti !
That was her high point, as an actress...but I am sure she made more money, playing a goofy gal on the boob-tube. Thatr show was entertainment for those who move their lips while reading.
We humans die at all ages from young to old. When it's your time, it's your time.

According to the Government, we're still pretty much suppose to be working at 75 years old,
so there's that 🤞 🫤🤞
Loved dear Cindy !
"Schlemiel, schlemazzel" ... hopskotch in peace (& matching monogrammed sweaters), "Laverne and Shirley."
She was such a good actress.
Beautiful Cindy Rest In Peace Angel Face ❤️💔
It makes me sad to think of how long ago it was that the show was on. I still remember eating cookies and milk after school watching it. I hate that any of us have to go through dying and leave this earth. Always makes me so sad. It’s like I don’t like the idea of her not being here lol. Or anyone else for that matter.
I LOVED LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY..SHOWS WEEE MUCH BETTER BACK IN 60S & 70S
If you had a 12yo mentality!
This is so sad I just said the other day she was the only one still alive off of the show and then I just learned of her passing and it's O No if you have the discs of the show keep them one day they will be worth millions I am serious. Cindy will be sadly missed RIP Cindy
Michael McKean (Lenny) is still alive.
Michael McKeon is still alive (Lenny)
@@bogeysbaby And he was pretty good on Better Call Saul.
The unexamined life is a life not worth living Cindy Williams.
I grew up watching that show.
Rest in Parsdise..
The BEST Movie She Was In:'THE CONVERSATION'..
AMAZING WORK..
RIP Shirley Feeney..a/k/a CINDY WILLIAMS❤
75 is not that old. Many people live to 85, 95. With the right health care she had a couple decades left, at least one. Most people retire at 65. That's only 10 years of retirement. RIP Cindy.
Don't outlive your money.
However...she did let herself go, got fat, probably became diabetic...just like millions of other Boomer Americans.
Yep. Harrison Ford is 80. William Shatner is 91. They're both sharp mentally and still working. Those are just two examples. You certainly can live a longer life these days and do so with a lot of dignity.
Don't outlive your health.
Rest In Peace Cindy Williams (1947-2023)
Unlike today it was difficult to have success on television. 3 networks so it better be good or it’ll be yanked quickly. Cindy made it big for a long long time, bless her🙏🏻
Did she get jabbed?
Sad hugs, i loved her work. Her role in Return of the Blob is wonderful. Lol.
RIP Condy Williams.
Laverne and Shirley were like Lucy and Ethel. Great clean comedy. Great comedic fun. We don’t have that on television now. It was a great pleasure to watch them. They will all be greatly missed. What were the warning signs? Very bad editing showing all the old photos instead of focusing on showing Cindy during the interview. And the person speaking towards the end?
I loved that show back when I was little .
Loved!!🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🙏💖🙌
Bless your hearts Penny and Shirley! ❤❤
RIH Cindy and Penny Love you Lady's so much ❤❤
My Boo... 💔
RIP My Dark Haired Queen
Doubt this interview was from the day before she died.
I have always loved Cindy, her white skin, dark hair--maybe it was all about her open friendliness & her "approachable" demeanor. She was like someone I would love to have known, been friends with! I liked her MUCH better than Penny Marshall, who just came off as brash & shrill. (Maybe some people liked that. & I respect their opinions.) RIP Cindy. We will never forget you! ❣💔🙏
What were the warning signs as mentioned in the title? I don't get it.
I got to break out my old American Graffiti DVD. R.I.P Cindy Williams 😪

Ah i remember life before cable. I am only a year older than cindy williams so I was so surprised when I had heard she passed. I hope she is up there with penny marshall having a lot of fun.
Laverne and Shirley were the odd couple after Felix and Oscar...The show was funny with Lenny and Squiggy
24 hours before she died? Uh, no.
Loved Laverne and Shirley, I still watch the reruns, also loved Penny and Squiggy, they were all so funny!!!!
great interview.. Love Cindy Williams .. The guy in the bottom right corner of the video is very odd ..
Loved Laverne and Shirley
I always loved the light in Cindy Williams eyes. Now, that light belongs to the angels in Heaven. RIP Cindy, you are missed.
I don’t understand how she looked so well during her last interview, yet passed away 24 hours later. 🤔
The late Debbie Reynolds appeared fine and in good health, but the day she was planning the funeral for her daughter Carrie Fisher...Reynolds had a heart attack and died....
@@alfredgeorge317 I think she had a stroke maybe I'm wrong still so sad and weird.
She looked very overweight!...looked more than her age...Likely had a stroke/heart attack, so common these days.
@@alfredgeorge317 That an actually thing it usually happens with spouses when one dies the one living dies shortly after even if they were in good health.
@@nicoleackerman205 Yup...
R.I.P. Cindy Williams. You made us laugh!
The narrators toward the end of clip barely speak English while diction is poor.
Why can't you hire more articulate narrators?
No disrespect to these narrators, but yes, please. Especially ones who narrate spoiler alerts & info on y&r. I can't hardly understand them!
Loved her 💔Rip Cindy Williams 🙏
Rip Mrs Cindy Willams I saw all of her show on Laverne and Shirley also on American graffiti..😅
The thumbnail circled her neck if one is conhert which she was they will be able to tell something is wrong with their thyroid. How would she die in a day over a thyroid.
This interview was done 2 years ago! Please correct this.
Is nothing sacred to you who wrote this! Who would post a picture of someone who just passed with fake tears put on her picture? God help you
They were the next generation Lucy and Ethel from I love Lucy,!
Was this really 24 hours prior to her death?? She must've been boosted with that new bivalent booster.
Project Veritas
I keep hearing people comment on the surprising number of deaths we’re seeing, but so many still can’t see or believe that great evil is being perpetrated on us. 😢. There’s a mountain of evidence and it all points in one direction.
I don’t know if this is indeed what took Cindy’s life, but I pray for God’s comfort and guidance for her loved ones.
I think it's just that we're approaching the age where our friends will be passing more and more. As will we. Each generation goes through it.
@Krissy Young Lisa Marie presley then Cindy Williams
And don't forget yesterday's passing of Lisa Loring, the original Wednesday Adams.
what were the warning signs?
COVID Jab.
She was once married to Goldie Hawn's ex, Kate and Oliver Hudson's father
🌹🕊
24 hours before she died? Omg.
She didn't even look sick she looked beautiful ibthink the vaccine definitely had a hand in this. Rest well my love, forever my favorite actress 💔🙏🌹
How do you know she was vaccinated?
Btw...the late Debbie Reynolds was planning the funeral for her daughter Carrie Fisher, when she suddenly died of a heart attack.
That was before COVID...and the "jab"...
How do you explain that?
You are stupid!...Clark Gable looked great, but died at 61 of a heart attack. Looks do not determine very much, when it comes to imminent Death.
I agree with you.
The Unexamined life is a life not worth living.
Did she have cancer
No warning signs here. She looked coherent and healthy for her age. Now if she was lying in a hospital bed with tubes attached that would be a warning sign.
You don't need to be in a hospital, or attached to machines in order to have a heart attack....
@@alfredgeorge317 true. But the clip said warning signs were here. I did not see any.
@@thetruthfornow6045 nor did I....
But...as I've posted elsewhere, the late Debbie Reynolds had no warning signs when she died of a heart attack.
.
@@alfredgeorge317 so we agree the clip was incorrect by stating warning signs here and people can die without warning signs.
what the hell is everyine dieing from?? they never say what from.. anyone know regarding irene cara?
I couldn't believe it when I read Cindy had just died at age 75, which is way too young these days. She was always so vibrant, positive, & beautiful. She looked so healthy! I read it was kidney disease. I have always admired her over the years. RIP Beautiful Cindy!!😪💔
@@mintcrush2042 Seventy-five is good enough, if you allow yourself to get fat, get diabetic, that will cut 5-10 years off your life. The average age of Death for women in this country, is 81, for men, 77. To get to an average, some must die on either side of those numbers....which side you will fall on, is the question..the other question is...what is so great about living to be elderly, and suffering the various infirmnities that plague old folks? I watched my dad wither away and die in a rest home, from Altsheimers at the age of 82...he had no idea who he was, or where he was, the last year of his life.
@@curbozerboomer1773
I like Cindy Williams, & just wish she had a healthier, longer life. But for myself, I totally agree w. your perspective-I don't want my life prolonged w. doctors unnecessarily stressing about my blood pressure, choleststerol, or whatever just to keep me alive to be a healthy old lady of 78 or whatever. Or 81, or whatever. For me, & that age, it would be totally about the QUALITY of my life as I know it, otherwise it is just not worth staying alive a long time just to be staying alive a long time, if I am not happy & living life on my own terms.
I grew up witching her
What were the warning sign? Nothing mentioned here. Don't waste your time.
I call it the Hollywood curse!
So she died within 24 hours of this interview?
Does anyone care about what the interviewer thinks?
Are u trying show a Adam’s apple here I mean wtf
He is not a professional that knows how to flatter people's looks...
Good question. what was that about???
Why is the guy in the bottom right corner? So distracting, and unnecessary ✍🏼♥️💐🦋
She looked alot like Patsy Ramsey.
Clickbate….. what warning signs ?
Ooops Lenny
Liar. This was not 24 hours before death
It’s so weird that these actresses keep such an outdated hairdo and lipstick look. Why can’t they age naturally? The generations coming up don’t care about their glory days. It’s so sad.
