I love the subtle touches where he says that he was a "little farmer boy" and then later mentions "dad had a pharmacy" so he said "little pharma boy" but in a way that people would initially think he grew up rural when he was probably quite privileged. So many layers to the humour!

Omg what a clever family . I can just imagine how devastated Dad was when you weren't going to takeover such a huge responsibility and if course the years of study. You knew what you wanted and you went after it, and hopefully have achieved it. I do feel for dad though. Such an interesting personal side of your life😂 Thank you for sharing it with us🤣👍🥰🥰

AtomicPlayGirl 66 I think that’s fact, kids in UK don’t get the option until what we now call Year 9 even Year 11 in some schools. I totally agree too, it’s tragicomedy, isn’t it? Like you say it comes from life, he feels for people. Chris’ strength is observation but his real talent is empathy; he couldn’t make us care or even believe if we didn’t feel for his characters. Everything he’s ever done is carved out of someone we know and that’s massively unusual, isn’t it? He makes normal funny because it is, he points it out, he becomes it. Absolutely adore him.❤️
@@penelopehughes-jones5265 100%. It was life changing the day i stumbled across SHHigh on HBO here in US. I hate knowing he is having to endure all the pc police as of late. I am so glad he is not changing his comedy just to keep them happy.
