I took Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in trade school after I earned a BA in American History and found that I did not want to teach. Have never regretted it.
I don’t agree with this at all. Parents have a right to want to sent their children to universities- Jewish people are known for valuing education and this shouldn’t stop. They are the doctors, scientists, attorneys etc that have added immense value to our societies. What we need to do is review what is being taught in the departments encourage true “diversity” of viewpoints from academics from varying perspectives. This will allow students to think for themselves and cultivate critical thinking skills that is so desperately needed at this point in our history. What has been happening for over 50 years in Academia is that all textbooks, required readings, are mostly completely socialist propaganda. I was a student at Stanford, Yale, and Columbia and it was intense. I had to read dozens of books by Chomsky and other
libertarian socialist or anarcho-syndicalist or communist anarchist, in the tradition of, say, Bakunin and Kropotkin and others. I was never given anything else to read but this. This must change!
Also, billions of dollars are being funneled by countries (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China) into American and European universities which influences what is being taught.

The main issue at hand is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the admissions process of universities and colleges. It is discriminatory and goes against the principles of the American Dream. My stance is in favor of MFE - Merit, Fairness, and Equality. I encourage you to look up this concept and educate yourself on its application in the contexts of college admissions, employment, and promotions. PS - Stefanik is a hero, a great legislator, and a great person. She needs to be the majority leader in the House.
