Strange logic, pulling out of a regional African organization, belittling the voice of the public by squashing democratic engagement, steering society into further indoctrination, dysfunction & suffering?

Let's be honest here ECOWAS doesn't belong to west Africans it's political it has nothing to do with any other country and they requested to be removed and that was rejected , those countries have already been suspended by ECOWAS so what's the point in staying?

Tinubu is the greatest mumu .France and the west helped him to power and wanted him to fight for them in Niger.I did not know why the northerners stopped him.He would have met his waterloo, and Nigerians would have been better for it. O God, why this didn't happen

EXOWAS should listen to what is being said, examine the progress of these 3 leaders then ask themselves ‘who is rejoicing and benefiting’ from their stand? It is painful to know westerners have the ear and support of ECOWAS at the expense of struggling Africans.

Blaming most of the problems of those countries on France is counterproductive , a twisted distraction. Pretending large autocratic imperial ethno States like Russia or China are your benevolent benefactors is dangerous naivety, they tend to encourage dictators, corruption, and economic exploitation without any humanitarian/environmental concerns that “westerner” powers are at least emphasizing in their muddled & slightly annoying way.

Those Nigerian that are calling to condem the military take over should look at their progress since taking over. They did good to leave Ecowas block because being there will hinder there development. Like Sen. Sani said most of the leader in ecowas block has been in power for more than 40yrs, is that a democracy? No. For the Side of Nigeria do not expect anything good coming under one Nigeria. Nigeria suffers from the worst case of colonial mentality. Talking about the Sahel states not having the right to withdraw from ECOWAS. Who is editing this news item? Whe you are talking about rights of States, you start with the concept that a State is not bound by any limitation of right - that is the gravamen of Sovereignty. Only external, extra-legal force can limit the power of a State to change its legal obligation. That is why the Western countries flagrantly violate all international laws and nothing happens. The Sahel states are morally justified to withdraw from ECOWAS, which has shown itself to be puppets of EU, France and USA.

From where I am in the Caribbean, I see not difference between the situation in Nigeria and Niger in terms of relationship with their respective metropolis authorities except that France is more aggressive. Britain may apply soft power by appearing distant in their approach to neocolonialism. France demand and collect colonial tax it entail does the same only they don't call it what France calls it but a percentage of the budget is paid over to Britain nonetheless by all Commonwealth countries.
Mineral resources are treated in like manner between the Anglo and Francophone spheres in that the raw materials supplied to the North and reimported as finished products by southern colonies hence our status as underdeveloped inferior people.

"pedantic"? Nigerians like to use big sounding words, even when they don't understand the nuances of many English words. Sahel state leaders are not sounding 'pedantic' when they say that ECOWAS has deviated from its founding mission. Be sure of the the meaning of the words you want to use. Avoid using words just because you want to sound educated.
