  • We did a week long Road trip from Bangalore to Goa starting 17th June 23. On our first day we left Bangalore at 5:30 AM from Whitefield and reached our hotel in North Goa at around 5 PM, thus completing the journey in about 12 hrs with 2-3 breaks.
    Below are the road conditions:
    Bangalore - Hubbali - Excellent 6 lane highway
    Hubbali Dharwad to Ramnagar - Tolled 2 lane undivided highway. Acceptable roads with a lot of greenery.
    Ramnagar - Goa border - Some bad patches of road for a couple of Kilometers. Need to drive carefully, especially during monsoon.
    Goa - Smooth roads throughout. Watch our for Police Speed guns once you enter Goa. Drive at 60 Kmph!

    I did a road trip with my wife on the same route in March 2021... patch roads are still patchy even after 2 years thats surprising

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před 11 měsíci +3

      Right. And these patchy roads go from bad to worse during rains.
      I assume they do a shoddy job of maintaining these internal roads each year and hence they are never in good state.

    @sidhusri07 Před 9 měsíci +2

    You have choosen the horrible road, instead of going from dharwad, should always take left from hubballi-yelapur-ankola-karwar-cancona route, that's comparatively very very fine road & timesaving route as well. dharwad-ponda route is still under construction from ages & none is bothered about that.🥵🥵🥵

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hey. The route to Goa from Bangalore depends on which side of Goa you want to go.
      The Ankola Karwar route is good if you want to go to South Goa. We took it while coming back
      You can also take this route if you want smooth travel rather than saving time...even when heading to north Goa.
      Having said that, the route we took is the fastest when going to North Goa from Bangalore. We found it more more exciting as well, given it goes through ghats.
      So yes, you can choose as per your preference.

    How was the ghat section? Was it too elevated? How much it will take roughly to clear the ghat uphill, I am bit concerned about my car performance hence asking, is it too steep

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před měsícem

      Ghat sections are fine and we covered it in a sedan. It's an uphill sure at sections but nothing that will cause problem. The only narrow section is near Anmod. Drive slow for that sections and you should be good.
      It might be more tricky during heavy rains, but I know people who have recently used the route and did not complain.
      Hope this helps.

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před 10 měsíci +2

      It was PUC(Pollution control certificate) which they asked, expecting if we might have missed to renew.
      Fir second point, normal docs, like RC, Insurance, PUC and your DL!
      Just make sure not to exceed speed limit, specially once you enter Goa as they have speed cameras at a couple of places.

      @thoughtsforliving thanks for informing. I'll keep the speed limit in my mind once I enter goa. Even I reside nearby to Whitefield. So I'll likely follow your tour guide route for reaching goa in less time.

    when does Apoorva open? we are planning on going to Varca in july, and we plan to leave at around 3-4 am, will apoorva be open by 7? or will we have to make a stop somewhere later, and if so would you have any recommendation?

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před 2 měsíci

      I am not very sure about the restaurant timing, but it should be open by 7-8 AM. If you are leaving Bangalore by 3-4 AM ...you should reach there by 8 am at which time it should be open.

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před rokem +1

      Well, it's definitely possible, but I would not recommended travelling at night.
      The highway portion is of course safe, but the road goes through ghat section and some isolated sections.
      You will also miss the beautiful views.
      If you start at night, plan it in a way so as you leave highway at dawn.
      This applies for other road to Goa as well which goes through yellapur, Ankola Karwar..
      Hope this helps.

      @KittuandLilysworld  Před rokem

      Thanks! Glad you liked it.
      If you have full 5 days, the you can spend either all 5 days in North Goa
      Or split it with 3 days in North and 2 days in south Goa.
      Between it, keep 1 day to visit Panjim and Old Goa as well!
      Beaches, Waterfalls, Churches, forts... you will find on both sides.
      If it's party you are after, North Goa will be a better bet!

    Hi🙏🙏
    Will the below route be ok, travelling by next week🙏🙏 as I do a night shift usually feel sleepy during early morning so planning to leave around 1am or 2am, also planning to rest every 60-80kmtrs after 6am onwards for a quick power nap or for 2-3mins to fresh up 🙏🙏
    Hebbal -> Davanagere -> Bankapura -> Hubbali -> Anmod Ghat -> Calangute
    Please advise🙏

    • @KittuandLilysworld
      @KittuandLilysworld  Před měsícem +1

      Sounds like a good plan. We followed the same route for north Goa. Until Hubbali, it's a proper highway so no problem driving at night.
      There are ghat sections on this route near Anmod and mollem, but it's a scenic drive.
      Other option which has good roads is to take a bypass before Hubli toll plaza. Path would be Bankapur -> Hubli bypass-> Kalghatgi ->Yellapur -> Ankola -> Karwar -> Goa, as this bypasses the bad roads through Mundgod. This is a good route through south Goa but I find the route through Dharwad to be more exciting. But if it rains quite a bit, then take the latter route
      Hope this helps.
