    The instructions state very clearly on a separate sheet of paper you ignored to install the float exactly as it comes in the package--but it falls out easily when you pull the parts out of the box. The trapped air inside the cup will make the cup float up when submerged in water, as in when you're using it as a wet vac. So the correct way to install the float cup is to install it with the open side down, closed side facing up toward the motor opening.

    Thanks for sharing. You stated at beginning of video that nobody reads the instructions...then you proceed to struggle with assembly eventually leaving float out.

    Nice video but what is that gray plastic cap you left out ? Like what is it for ? I just installed this today to vacuum my girls car and I put that plastic thing inside the other gray plastic thing that you screw in , idk the vacuum was sucking but not as I thought it would. I was wondering if it was because of that plastic thing restricting air flow.

    • @deepsilencersmd7126
      @deepsilencersmd7126 Před 3 lety +2

      I just saw another video and found out what it is. It’s a floater/stopper so when the liquid over flows it raises the stopper to the top and make your vacuum shut off.

      I have an older Craftsman vac that's probably at least 12 years or older. It sucks things up violently. I got this to try out to see if it would be a viable replacement option as it's getting harder and harder to find replacement filters and the fact that I have a lot of Ryobi tools.

    I bought this and had a really hard time getting the top to align and latch onto the base. I'd latch it, but then some sides were sticking out more than others which means it would have been spitting dirty air out of any gap. Plastic latches also felt cheap and the on off switch was really hard to flip. Boxed it up and returned it. Also wasn't a fan of the wobble from the caster design.

    What does that lose cap do ?

    • @MichaelSuarez
      @MichaelSuarez  Před 2 lety

      The loose cap is suppose to trap air inside the cap will make the cap float up when submerged in water, as in when you're using it as a wet vac.
      It is to prevent your vacuum from overflowing when sucking too much water. The cap will float up in the suction hole and suffocate it, which will turn it off.
      In my experience and usage, I don't use the cap and I suck up very little water or half way and then dump it and do it again.

    So I'm a new viewer, I brought this video up on May 4th to see where that silly round leftover plastic cup goes. Yes I too assembled my unit and then disassembled it to figure out where that nasty leftover part belonged. Yes I read and reread the instructions but the comment about the float said to ' leave it in the basket the way you find it'. The float assembly bag needs a STOP SIGN label saying DUMBASS - READ THIS BEFORE OPENING THIS BAG! SHEEZE. OF COURSE THE PARTS FELL OUT OF THE BAG AND I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IS WAS OR THE IMPORTANCE OF REINSTALLING THE FLOAT CUP BACK THE RIGHT WAY. I figured Michael will show me the way north. Then... hilarious Michael had the 'leftover' part too and had to look at it like 4-5 times and must have thought - what the hell is that and where does it belong, but no...he just leaves it out and goes on with his testing. HILLARIOUS! A big Thanks to @ricbechter and @maryeakins7081 - not sure how they figured this out. The part needs an arrow or imprint indicator; UP or TOP stamped into it.
