Great set, reminds me of when I used to spin Hardcore vinyl back in the day...
What people need to understand about Hardcore is that it is a genre of music that so to speak revamps what is popular at the time.
1990-1996: Breakbeat style music was popular then and the Hardcore scene had influences of that in it
1996-2009/2010: Trance music was popular especially between 1997 and 2008 so Hardcore had them influences making it the Hardcore we all used to love!
2010-Present day: EDM is the thing at the moment so thats why Hardcore does not sound the same anymore :( but thats progression and to be honest it still sounds banging!
One thing that sticks with Hardcore is that thumping Doosh Doosh Doosh drum pattern!

hardcore has always used whats been around for influence, that influence has just grown as EDM got larger and larger and more exposed, so it takes from that and incorporates it into hardcore

why doesnt he move any faders or levels in the the mix? it fake pure bollox
+Gary Sewell not sure if he is leaving the central crossfader in the middle and using the other ones? i assume that is why he is pushing them up and down, but i aint got a clue if not
He doesn't use the faders, he uses the master levels for each track to sample between and transfer songs. One might think a real DJ would spot that.
Watched Darren Styles in action dozens of times and met the guys several , had the honour of watching him back in the days of force and styles..
Believe me when I say that this is no fake!!! This is a true DJ and artist at work.
He's used the master levels, watched a few DJ's do this now, yeah cheeseburger424 is right, a true DJ would have spotted this. Gammer on the other hand uses the cross more times than I've had hot dinners but's a class of his own.
clearly dont know nothing about djing, you dont have to use the main cross fader..... fuckin noobs -_-
Gary Sewell He uses the master levels on the tracks. No need to use the crossfader then. I find it easier to do, and it might just be a habit of his. But I can tell you, he's no fake.
@3:04 so much needless touching and pretending to turn knobs, i just dont get why dj's do this? they want to look busy or what? Someone like DS has well earnt his chops in the scene, he doesn't need to be doing this Guetta shit.
