  • In the video I am testing out the new ‪@InfinityWax‬ wheel shampoo and to do that I will be comparing it to what i consider a market leading wheel shampoo from ‪@GarageTherapyOfficial‬ to do this I have come up with 5 different tests to see if I can notice any differences between the products and at the end of the day to determine if this new product from infinity wax is worth you spending your money on.

    Great video showing these two shampoos, look similar, same price , same results, in the words of the great Oscar Wilde “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness” and for such a young brand to have such a great product that a white label manufacturer copies their stuff, just shows how spot on GT has this one 🙌🏻
    Loved the tests , keep up the great work mate 👍

      😂😂😂, yes 2 very similar products! Had it not been for the difference out the foamer id not have been able to split them. Its a testament to GT that other companies can only match the performance of their products.

    Nice test. Glad you used an actually dirty wheel. So many videos on YT cleaning clean wheels with barely any brake dust.

      Thanks mate, yes I totally agree with you. Too many videos out there cleaning a clean wheel and saying a product is amazing, I like to put them through their paces

    Nice test David these products are good for regular maintenance washes but for really dirty wheels you have to ramp it up great comparison 👍🏻💦

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah your spot on Paul, what I was hoping for was a noticeable difference between the products but honestly apart from the way they came out the IK foamer I couldn’t tell the difference.

    I'm happy enough with GT for my maintenance washes and as this seems to be virtually identical in colour and performance, I think I'll stick with what I know 🤣
    Great job with the testing and editing it all together - very thorough... Now get something seriously strong out to clean those track wheel barrels 🤣🤣🤣👍🏼👍🏼

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah if someone is already using GT i dont know if this offers enough to tempt people away if im being honest.
      Haha ive already got something in mind for them and its something along the lines of 120 GRIT sand paper 😂😂, going to be rubbing them down and giving them a refurb as the clear coat is all over the place on them.

  • @gillywash1487
    @gillywash1487 Před 2 lety +2

    Well that’s a great compliment to infinity wax if they’ve made one almost inseparable to the GT Wheel Shampoo. 👏🏼

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Outwith the IK foamer I couldn’t tell the difference mate, both very good products.

  • @sixtysecondsofstephens2386

    Another great test Dave. I do like the way the GT clings longer on the wheels. Saying that all the other infinity wax products I've got already are very good.

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks mate, that was the only way I could tell the difference. Cleaning power from both products was very similar. I’ll need to experiment a bit more with the IW stuff tho

  • @lukefrazer2583

    Great comparison showing these products!! its good to see the limitations of what a wheel shampoo can achieve aswell before having to goto something a bit stronger.

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety

      Thankyou mate, yeah like i said they are both great maintenance wheel wash products but if youve let your wheels go youll need to get something a bit stronger for them.

    Nice Video David. Thanks for going through those lengthy tests so that we don't have to: Infinity wax looks good, but not enough to tempt me away from good old GT. Great upload. 1K subs coming to you really soon 👌

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Gordon, I’ll need to play about with it a little more before I decide but i do like to use the IK foamer and I’m thinking GT pips IW in that department

  • @r49309
    @r49309 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Good video. Not convinced by dedicated wheel shampoos, especially as they seem best suited to maintenance of generally well kept wheels and have limited tyre cleaning performance so not replacing the need for something like Rebound and offering a one stop shop (perhaps GT Decon is better in this regard). I recognise the user experience is more enjoyable on wheels than say Surfex, but yet to see a compelling reason to have as another product on the shelf.

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 3 měsíci

      I do like using them, but my wheels are generally well maintained. Like you say tho, for dirtier wheels they just dont cut it and a stronger product like a dedicated wheel cleaner / surfex or decon is more suited.

    Great video Dave, it just reminded me I have 2 bottles of Auto finesse Revolution that I have had for years and never even tried. My wheels have been coated with KKD Revolve and only need a normal wash with whatever shampoo I am using at the time. These probably have a place on wheels with brakes which have been worked hard on track days etc or like them you used.

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Geoff, with my M4 i had the wheels ceramic coated and cleaning them was so easy. The wheels that came on our X1 already had the start of the dreaded BMW corrosion so figured there would be no point in coating them till they get a refurb so the wheel shampoos are perfect for them. Ive never really used auto finesse products.

    I got similar results to you. I use and enjoy using both. GT is slightly more lubricated in our hard water area. But very hard to tell of split the 2 like you said.

      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Ill have a look, is that on facebook or instagram?
      Yeah its very hard to split them, if your going to be using in an IK foamer then id go GT but in the bucket for me its a case of toss a coin and go with that.

      Same here Kevin i really get on well with their products. the Rapid Detailer is a great product but im yet to use the spray wax they do. I used to do that aswell, wit hthe wheel shampoos having a bit more bite to them than a normal car shampoo i like the additional cleaning you get as well as the lubrication

    I'm Australian based and bought some GT products, tyre shampoo, tyre serum and the glass cleaner
    Tyre shampoo is a good product but only on light brake dust, i found even 100ml of product to 900ml
    water struggled to clean 2 week's worth of dust it cleaned but took me a while, tyre serum is a little glossy
    but can be buffed back, glass cleaner is still a on going test.

    • @DavidMcBay
      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah wheel shampoos are really only maintenance products, what i was hoping to see with this video was a noticeable difference in the products performance. I really like the tyre serum, i tend to apply and buff back to get a more dull finish. Have you tried their decon shampoo?

      @@DavidMcBay No i haven't but at the moment i will pass only due to the postage cost the products themselves are a good price even with the UK exchange rate, but i hope the brand gets to Australia soon.
      We only have one Australian brand that is in the store's they are called Bowden's Own and we have other's that are
      More un heard of but nothing like the UK brands you guy's a pumping out.

      @DavidMcBay  Před 2 lety +1

      Thats a shame to hear that, I thought somewhere like Australia would have a lot of brands pumping out products. Hopefully some of the good stuff we have over here will make its way over to you soon.
      If you are ever placing another order though zero decon is a must, although i can only imagine what the postage costs would be to get stuff sent from the UK to Oz

  • @jonlinder189

    Used the IW a few times now, and while it imitates GT in look feel etc doesn't perform as well IMHO. Suds generally die quicker, not as much transfer to the wheels using EZ brushes or wheel mitt, found myself doing twice the work...even at higher ratios.
    IW is good, don't get me wrong but it's not good enough to knock GT off the top spot, comes a solid 3rd for me, beaten by 26JPN.
