  • The beautiful New England state of Vermont is one of the most picturesque states in the US.
Its name translates to the "Green Mountain State", although throughout the year there’s a real rainbow of colors as summer turns to fall and winter gives way to spring.
As one of the most beautiful and most loved states in the USA, Vermont seems to conjure up images of everything
that is magical from the eternally popular White Christmas movie to long scenic drives during the Fall.
In fact with its fusion of idyllic farmland, imposing mountains, verdant forests, and impossibly picturesque small villages Vermont is pretty much perfect.
One of the most interesting things about this quaint little state is its moderately low population, which right now is just over 600,000 people.
If you’re looking for an escape from the rat race, Vermont could be the perfect choice for those seeking a tranquil way of life away from the hustle and bustle of city living.
    1. Vermont winters can be harsh.
Vermont is a beautiful state but if you hate winter, you may have a hard time dealing with winters in Vermont.
The average high temperature in Vermont in January is 27 degrees, and the average low temperature is just 10 degrees
    2. Vermont has a very low population.
The entire population of Vermont is less than 8% of New York City’s population.
    3. Vermont has lake towns, not coastal towns.
Though it’s a landlocked state, Vermont still has a seaside feel along Lake Champlain. If you’re used to living near a body of water, consider moving to Burlington or another community on the lake.
    4. Vermont is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts.
The state has plenty of outdoor places such as national and state forests, parks, and campgrounds. Moving to Vermont is a great opportunity to explore the natural world.
    5. Skiing and snowboarding are big businesses.
Tourists who visit the state for skiing and snowboarding are a big boon to the state’s economy.
    6. Taxes are high.
Vermont has some of the nation’s highest income taxes.
Here are the best and most beautiful places to live or visit in Vermont:
    1. Montpelier - the beautiful capital city of Vermont and a scenic place to visit in the Fall, plus high quality of life, a place to retire.
    2. Burlington - a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with a blend of scenic beauty, the best place to live, study and work in Vermont.
    3. Brattleboro - a small and close-knit city.
    4. Newport - cheapest place to live in Vermont.
    5. Rutland - safest place in Vermont.
    6. Barre - One of the affordable places to live in Vermont.
    7. Morrisville - vacation village in Vermont.
    8. Johnson - a safe place to live and start a family.
    9. Woodstock - One of the prettiest historic towns to explore in Vermont.
    10. Charlotte - Homes in Charlotte all come equipped with generous sized gardens.

Sorry, but this is a McVideo! Lots of the footage is not even from Vermont. The mountains in the skiing part of the video are clearly not in Vermont. I've never heard anyone suggest Newport and Barre as top places to live here. But the most egregious mistake is the narrator's pronunciation of Charlotte. She says it like it's a town in North Carolina. Any Vermonter knows that Charlotte is pronounced "Shar-lot!"

While speaking to Barre, you show downtown Brattleboro and the bridge across the CT river to New Hampshire. While Speaking about Rutland, you also clip over to Duo restaurant which is in Brattleboro as well.

Lake Willoughby has the most picturesque lake, hiking trails, and covered bridges in the Northeast Kingdom. The places they chose for this video are the least likely places I would live in Vermont.

I'm a Vermonter and have lived in a dozen towns there. It's really turned to shit over the years. The Freemasons there buried the Burlington mall and direct the education system with agendas to raise hive mind mentality, such as the drones they are themselves. Real estate is overpriced and everything possible is taxed to the max. Vehicle state inspections have grown stricter over the years as well. Every scenario that can get money from you is packed into the privilege of being a resident. Also you showed a cartoon Earth in the beginning of the video, which was kinda weird.

@@perrybelcourt5441 Hi Perry. In theory I agree but in Vermont, especially in the more populated areas, like Burlington, Essex area or Montelier, and almost all of Chittenden County the residents are radically liberal and aggressive, along with some business owners. I know one school district that filed sexual assault charges against two or three middle school children for failing to use someone's correct pronouns. Another school district tried to prosecute a 5 year old boy for touching a little girl's arm at school. School board meetings are the worst experience. Even if you calmly and respectfully state why you do not agree with a specific policy, other community members scream at you, declaring you a hater and racist. The better places to live are in the rural farming areas, as these people are more open, and respectful of opposing views.

Rutland is a shithole, Burlington is a tourist town, Brattleboro is just northern Massachusetts, I lived in Norwich, Vermont for 20 years, and if you want to move to Vermont, you must be wealthy period. And when I left in 2008, they still had no hi speed internet. Weather is horrendous and winter is 9 months long, and blink you will miss spring and summer. Vermont is a nightmare.
