How To BIOS Mod Your RX 5700/5700 XT In Windows:
𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑 When it comes to GPU Mining, remember Silicon Lottery! Results MAY vary from GPU to GPU so your Clocks/Undervolt/Voltage shown in my videos may not work for you because of GPU Brand/Memory/Manufacturing what have you. Temperatures and your Cooling methods will also play the part and have an affect. Test at your OWN RISK and do your OWN RESEARCH.
𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐆𝐏𝐔-𝐙 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐆𝐏𝐔!
    1: Go to www.igorslab.d... and 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐕𝟑.𝟎𝟒 . 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝟐.𝟗𝟑
if you are using google chrome the download may be blocked, in which case you go to Show Downloads and Keep Dangerous File
    2. Extract AMDVBFLASH_Windows.zip onto the main C Drive in a folder called amdvbflash.
3: Run insttool, right click run as administrator, which is located in same folder to install amdvbflash binaries.
4: Go to Start Search and type CMD which is short for Command Prompt, then right click it and run as administrator.
5: In Command prompt type in cd c:\amdvbflash
6: Type amdvbflash -i to get the bios name and info of your gpu
7: Next we want to save the BIOS so type amdvbflash -s 0 originalbios.rom (can be any name you like) and be sure to SAVE this original bios everywhere as the PID of the Bios/GPU matters in case you have to RMA the card. Some brands may not accept the gpu if it has a different PID (notibly Asus).
8: Now we want to download Red Bios Editor (www.igorslab.d...) and 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐭.
9: Open up Red Bios Editor and click on Load, navigate to your C: amdvbflash folder where you have your original Bios saved and click on the original bios.
10: Click on VRAM Timings Tab and some cards may have 2 "Memory Type" and some show 1 "Memory Type" but we need to do the same thing on both anyways. Copy the 1500/1550 Mhz strap and then paste it below in the other timings (1800/2000/2250) then click Save and call it whatever you like (ie. Modded1.rom)
11: If yours has another Memory Type under the drop down, we need to do the same thing as step 10 so first click on Load and open the saved Bios you just did.
12: Verify your timings you moved from 1500/1550 have moved to the other timings below, then click on Memory Type and click the other memory type. Copy the 1500/1550 Mhz strap and then paste it below in the other timings (1750/1800/1875/2000 Other GPUs may be different) then click Save and call it whatever you like (ie. Modded2.rom)
    13: Close Red Bios Editor
14: Go back to CMD (make sure its open as administrator if you closed it) and go back to C:\amdvbflash (cd c:\amdvbflash)
OPTIONAL: Next type amdvbflash -unlockrom 0 (this step some people may need to do but in testing it seemed to not be needed, continue to step 15)
15: Now we simply want to put your Modded2.rom onto the GPU. So type amdvbflash -p 0 modded2.rom
16: It should say Success and Restart! so close everything and Restart the rig and you should be able to achieve 56mh/s+

For people trying to flash Gigabyte 5700 xt Gaming OC and Asus Strix 5700 xt. You need to use these 2 stock bios's because moding the original and flashing it back to the card may produce a code 43 in Windows or brick the card. mega.nz/folder/PFtCTBYS#AzKgME9vJitocIKIGYKw1g

Awesome, The Bios Mods gained me +6% and combined with the Afterburner tweaks have gained +14%. My "MSI 5700 Gaming X" (GPU1) was getting 50Mh Stock and now is now running at +57.1Mh. My second card "MSI 5700XT Gaming X" (GPU2) was getting about 51Mh stock, and is now getting 57.5Mh. But also, Without the after burner tweaks, the 2 cards combined were running around 350watts, and now after my Afterburner tweaks the combined power consumption is about 293watts, peaking at 301watts between the 2 cards. Also, I have the temps that were running into the mid to high 70 degrees C on stock, now running in the mid 60s to low 70s Degrees C. The GPU vRAMs were running around 92 - 94 degrees C on stock, and now are running mid 80s peaking at about 88 Degrees C, despite the effective 114Mhs Boost the cards are working... Just Awesome, been stable for about an hour now... My (GPU2) which is at the bottom PCIe Slot, and which gets more airflow is the 5700XT, and its running so chilled the fan has not even turned on yet to cool it down once... WOW, Just Awesome!

@@CollosalTrollge If You want to add second PSU buy ADD2PSU adapter. Just google "add2psu". They cost $1 in my country. It's way easier than paperclips. If You have just few cards I highly recommend HiveOS. Just download image, flash your memory stick and you are ready to go. You don't need any linux experience at all. The simplest idea for you:
      1. Add 2nd PSU with ADD2PSU adapter if You need more power.
      2. Connect RX5700 and RX470 8GB to your rig.
      3. Replace those 2 RX 470 4GB with RX470/RX570/RX580 8GB (I recommand Sapphire Nitro RX580 8GB).
Simply sell 4GB on ebay or wherever you want and buy used 8GB. You should spend about $100 on that. In total You will spend 100ish bucks and You will have nice 3x rx 470/480/570/580 + RX 5700 rig.
      4. Flash HiveOS to pendrive. Make account on HiveOs.
      5. Turn on rig and You are ready to go
      6. Start with claymore or phonix (phoenix is a little bit better for RX 5700)
      7. Start fun with underclocking. Start with: RX 5700 - Core: 1300MHz/800mv Mems: 900MHz/800mv ; RX 470/480/570/580 depening what you got

There was occurrence of appearing code 43 after moding the bios of Gigabyte Gaming OC 5700/5700xt even bios was saved properly, suspected reason behind it is that newer revision of cards from this manufacturer have some kind of security check that was introduced recently. Problem was solved later on, by flashing older bioses for same model of card REV1 from September of 2019 on techpowerup bios downloads
There is possibly same problem with newer revision of Asus Strix 5700/5700xt cards as it was with Gigabyte Gaming OC 5700/5700xt, problem is currently under investigation, and could be possibly solved same way as Gigabyte problematic cards.

ive been digging thru gddr6 latency settings
modding the straps on navi should get more gains
i think the problem is the 1550 strap is not tight enough so were having to OC the memory much more than needed
i got a gigabyte OC 5700 which has a very low hashrate and gets almost no boost from the 1550 straps so i decided to test other cards
i have a sapphire nitro with the 3 bios dip switch and ive been testing between the modded and the 2nd OC bios
about a 1 MH difference at optimal core settings
i dont think theres much latency difference between the 1550 straps and every one above it
which is what gives the boost to texture fill rates and in turn dagger hash rate
and i also think this is where 5600 xt are locked from being 5700s apart from CUs
my 5600s i have the vram maxxed on every card 930/1860
that means i could get much tighter latencies at lower frequencies

Hey dude. Been watching your vids recently as I'm building a new 8x RX 5700 XT Nitro rig. Thanks for all the advice and help, especially helping me remember how to BIOS flash these babies; it's been a while since I built a rig. Currently running my 8 GPUs with Phoenix Miner 4.6c with some slight modifications to your most recent tune. I'm getting 440 Mh/s total @ 730w for all 8 GPUs; 1200w at the wall. Fans @ 65% @ 45C. Going to keep tuning, and tuning, and tuning... lol Thanks again for the vids and inspiration for my new rig!
Q1: have you had success with Claymore? I run my older RX 580 rigs with it and it's great. However, Claymore has issues modding memory clocks and voltage in console. I've abandoned it in favor of Phoenix Miner for the newer RX 5700 XT Nitros I have.
Q2: how are people budgeting for 200w in system power draw @ the wall?! That seems wild. What am I doing wrong? My older rigs also draw about 400-500. I'm running EVGA 80+ Gold PSUs + disabling unused SATA and LAN ports.

Idk if this will help anyone but if you have a Powercolor Red Devil 5700xt make sure to have the bios switch set to silent mode or youll get an 0FL01 error and it wont flash on the performance mode. I have no clue why but it refuses to accept the mod unless its on that bios. The switch should be faced towards the back of the card furthest from the io shield.
