I adore #41 and simply stumbled across this gem. I’ve always loved JM but haven’t heard him go off like this!! Sublime solo. Absolutely brilliant feed off of Carter’s tempo.
One of my favorite solos of all time. I still get goose bumps listening to it after I don't know how many replays. Just the total feeling and energy given off. Must have been amazing to see in person. I also love how much Carter is picking up on it and enjoying it. Just a classic.
I come back to this gem sometimes a few times a week. This is at the platinum stage of live music. So many great musicians but Mayer blew this one out of the park.
Best audio, Yes you did!!! ...720hd vs really low rate on pretty much all videos over 8yrs or so is a big improvement...Carter's bass drum! The sound on this mix, comin thru my new Vic Firth brand headphones is utterly amazing. It really sounds like you were sitting close to the many 18" bass PA speaker cabinets at this event getting hit w his bass drum on every lick! TY so much for posting this brilliant best of DMB & J Mayer preformance!
Thanks man! I had listen to a 2min clip of Mayer's solo a long time ago. Was wondering if I would ever listen to the full performance. Many years later here it is.

You have the audio in lossless (wave)?
Hi. I don't, sorry. I found this on Soundcloud so if you want slightly better quality I'd download it straight from there.
Oh I see. Thanks for letting me know! Wish they'd release the professional recording on dvd. John really nails that solo!
Cheers
What song was this
It's called just "#41". Song by Dave Matthew's Band :)
