I bought both Deviate Nitro 3 and Velocity Nitro 3 for daily training. I can't decide which one to return. To be honest I feel Velocity Nitro 3 is a better "daily trainer". It's very versatile and despite not having a plate and superfoam can be every bit as fast as the DN3 with more comfort. The Deviate Nitro feels a little like overkill. I feel super trainers are just to add a little bit more spice to the running experience but they do take a away something and that is the authentic running sensation under your feet unless you give them a specific role in your rotation. Thanks for the video. I could never do it while running.

Really interesting thoughts Snowwalker - thanks for taking the time to comment. I really enjoyed the Velocity Nitro 2, it was the pair of shoes I was always grabbing before heading out until I received the DN3. There’s just something about the DN3 I really enjoy and can’t quite put my finger on when comparing the two.
Where I think these shoes will really shine is mid-block, on tired legs and you need something to just add a bit of pep to the run, rest the legs a bit and have a bit of fun. It could also be a good introduction to carbon plated shoes for those who haven’t tried them out yet. There not quite as aggressive (or as expensive) as the race day supers.

@@TheVeganRunner I totally agree with you that’s why I can’t decide whether I should send them back or not. Have you tried Saucony Speed 4’s? If you have which ones do you like better?

I haven’t tried the Speed 4 or any shoe from Saucony for that matter although I’ve been interested to try them out. Almost bought the Endorphin Elite for my last marathon but went for Metaspeed instead, and so glad I did!

I have the Deviate Nitro 2, they are a cracking per of shoes and lasting very well.

Yeah they’re fantastic - since filming, I’ve had them on for every run this week. Just really enjoying their ride and cushion. The perfect shoe for tapering 👌

The plate isn't 100% carbon. You can confirm the percentage, but I think it's 70% carbon. I've got 180 km on it - I received an early pre-release. I like everything about it but the heel. The counter is weak. There is a half counter and then the shark thingy on the outside of the heel that doesn't do much for me. I need to do the runner's loop on this one, but not on my other 3 Puma shoes (Deviate 2s, Velocity 3s, Magnify 2s).
This version of the Deviates are more stable than the last version, but I think that's more to do with the plate, which I think is stiffer then the last version.
    Thanks for your review!
