Thanks Kurt, I think motorized tanks were popular about 5-10 years before we both started the hobby. I love motorized tanks and seeing the tracks work around the drive spocket, road and idler wheels.🙂
Thanks Skip, yeah the gearbox is extremely loud. I should probably wd-40 and grease the gears. The newer gears and gearboxes are possibly quieter made of plastic or nylon but I question if they will last and not crack compared to the older metal ones.🤔
Beautiful Sherman tank David! You did excellent detail work to it! Love seeing these motorized units! Definitely a lot of fun! Happy Holidays to you and Family!
That kit has got to be at least 50 years old, great kit for the time, I used the HVSS suspension from one to make an m4a1 76 with HVSS. I think I may still have some of the parts of the kit around some where.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The mold says 1970 on the bottom of the hull. This is an older kit because they were phasing these out as I was getting into armor in the late 70s early 80's. You can still get a motorized Sherman with VVSS. The new ones have a plastic nylon gear and gearbox.😊
@@davidchin350 I have the newer Sherman kit with the VVSS, don't have any plans on building it at this time. I think that the HVSS on that Sherman is a little over scale when compared to the new kits that are out today.
Thanks Kyle, you can still get a newer version of this motorized Sherman from Tamiya. I believe the gears and gearbox is made from plastic nylon so should run quieter but don't know if they will last as long as metal.
Super cool, David! I’ve never actually seen a motorized 1/35 scale tank in motion. I’ve seen much larger ones but not 1/35 scale. Hope you have a happy new year.
Very cool build David! I have never built anything yet that is motorized. I have been kicking around the idea of motorizing a future 1/200 ship build but we shall see. I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year David. Have a great week my friend!
Very cool David. I bet you had a fun time building this. I am working on an M1A2 by Dragon. It's coming along slowly, but I am intentionally taking my time on this. hoping to get it done by spring.✌
Pintle hook. I built an easy eight, from tamiya. They are nice kits. Mine didn’t have the motor, but the hull had some ghosted images where the mounts may have been from previous versions. Merry Christmas David 🎄
Thanks Johnny, I knew the hook resembled a pincer claw but had a memory lapse, which is happening quite often😒Yes some older Tamiya molds you see the opeings where the battery, gear box and switch would have mounted.
Very cool David!!
Thanks Tim👍
That's cool. It is fun to see the motorized version, i am so used to only seeing signs that a kit was motorized whike building sone non motorized. 👍
Thanks Kurt, I think motorized tanks were popular about 5-10 years before we both started the hobby. I love motorized tanks and seeing the tracks work around the drive spocket, road and idler wheels.🙂
That's awesome to see its actually moving and great build David ❤
Thanks Shawn, it is hypnotic to watch the tracks move.😊
Cool old build David. It's loud like a real one too!🤠
Thanks Skip, yeah the gearbox is extremely loud. I should probably wd-40 and grease the gears. The newer gears and gearboxes are possibly quieter made of plastic or nylon but I question if they will last and not crack compared to the older metal ones.🤔
A nice motorized Sherman. Very interesting and a cool build, David!
Best wishes, Joachim
Thanks Joachim, this is the last of my motorized tanks in my collection.
Great build, it really looks awesome, great detail work
Thanks Duke, glad you like it.😊
Awesome and loud! Love it!
Thanks John, the gearbox sure is loud 🫨
Really cool David
Thanks Tom, have a good one.👍
That is a nice card! That model is really awesome! Great video my friend! 👍😀👍
Thanks, have a good one.👍
Awesome David! Love the Sherman Tanks!
Thanks Manny, the motorized track action is hypnotic.
Your welcome! Yea it is! @@davidchin350
Very cool build David. I've been wanting to build one. You've made that choice even easier now. I've got to get one soon. Paul
Thanks Paul, this Sherman is pretty easy to assemble. Have fun with your build.
Great Build David. Love that it's motorized. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mike, glad you like it. Love the motorized tank kits.
Nice build, it looks quick and fun. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed, this solid green was easier than camo patterned tanks. Happy Holidays.
Nice work David, interesting to see the 1/35th scale kit motorised
Thanks, love the 1/35 scale motorized tank kits.
This is cool Artilery Tank... I had seen militery diorama on the store is awesome
Thanks, yes hobby stores have some great built up military kits.👍
Dude, that is awesome. Can't go wrong with WWII armor.
I was building exclusively WWII Tamiya armor for a while.
That TANK looks so cool David! I love it! Happy New Year my Friend! I hope your Christmas was FANTASTIC!
Thanks Mark, have a great holiday.
Love it! Can't wait to get to mine. 👍👍
Thanks, your Jumbo Sherman is going to be a great build.👍
Hello,Beautiful!👍💯👍
Greetings Seven🖖
Thanks, glad you like it 🙂
wow almost sounds like the real thing keep them coming buddy
Thanks Gilly, it's loud indeed. I should try to grease the metal gears maybe.
Beautiful Sherman tank David! You did excellent detail work to it! Love seeing these motorized units! Definitely a lot of fun! Happy Holidays to you and Family!
Thank you very much John! I'm glad I still have these past builds. Enjoy your holiday.

Happy New Year, my friend! 👍😊
Thanks Toni, Happy New Year to you as well.😊
Super cool old kit David! Nice work. I think I have their newer tool version but I have yet to attempt a tank. One day soon.
Thanks Kyle, you can still get a newer version of this motorized Sherman from Tamiya. I believe the gears and gearbox is made from plastic nylon so should run quieter but don't know if they will last as long as metal.
@@davidchin350 Interesting. I believe the one I have is not motorized at all. That’s pretty cool.
Great job David I'm workn on my secon tank now
Look forward to seeing it Ruane
Love it
Thanks Dave, glad you love it.🙂
Awesome!! 😁✌️
Thanks Stephen, have a good one.
@@davidchin350 you too, my friend 🙂👍
Super cool, David! I’ve never actually seen a motorized 1/35 scale tank in motion. I’ve seen much larger ones but not 1/35 scale. Hope you have a happy new year.
Thanks Craig, 1/35 scale motorized tanks are so cool because they're not as expensive as the larger RC scale tanks. Enjoy your New Years.

Thanks, I like motorized kits because it raises the level of difficulty/complexity to a build. But I love watching tracks in motion.😁
Very cool David. I bet you had a fun time building this. I am working on an M1A2 by Dragon. It's coming along slowly, but I am intentionally taking my time on this. hoping to get it done by spring.✌
Have fun with your build, I find military builds to be more relaxing since paint jobs don't have to be perfect on cars.😊
This kit is awesome. like 750 parts, photo etch. Brass main gun tube. I picked it up a a models show for 60 bucks.😀@@davidchin350
