    To be vintage the waist tag must say "Made In U.S.A." If it doesn't say that the jeans aren't vintage. If the jeans lot number (501, 550, etc.) on the waist tag is followed by a little circle R trademark sign, that indicates they are not vintage Levi's. Those are the definitive tests to separate vintage from modern Levi's. There are lots of other characteristics that can be used to date Levi's. But if all you want to know is vintage or not, that is super easy.

      I disagree with vintage are supposedly to be Made in USA, My dad stopped wearing jeans anymore so he gave me all of his jeans, he have this Levis 517 that says Made in Spain and Made in Canada so I asked him when did he get those jeans, he just said its probably early 80s not exceeding 1984.

      Bug then anything over 25 years or so are considered vintage.

    • @drwisdom1

      @@carrasco2011sc That is true, we can now classify things made in the 1900s as vintage. The problem is determining if something is that old.
      Until around 2000 Levi's only sold US made jeans in the US. Where did your dad buy them?

      @drwisdom1 My dad didn't buy any jeans. Lol. I had 2 pairs that I bought when I was around 20 now I am 40. I can't find them anywhere, I am sure they said red tab or something like that.

    Do you know about the Worhol factory x levis collab? I have a pair from there that were given as hand me downs that have painted patches with Jesus on them. I can’t find what year they did the collab

    In the good old days all Levis were USA made - the best, like Docs, boots & shoes were UK made - the best and the only real prefered choice to buy every thing else was second best and not even close. Greetings from the UK

    Levi's is unique because not many people know the difference between the real and the fake. It's hard to understand Levi's if you never buy the original greetings from Indonesia

    I found a pair of brown tabs and were not sure how the old they were, had a lot of stretch so I assumed they couldn't be that old but wondering what you know about brown tab levis.

    May I ask what the stitching is like on vintage Levi's? I recently bought a pair of Levi's online. The seller doesn't say that it's vintage but it has a tag saying made in USA and the buttons also have the number and levi company name but the stitching is a little fishy and the tag at the back is completely washed off (no colour or levi logo on the back) so I'm not sure if I bought some fakes or I'm just not knowledgeable in knowing the difference. Thank you very much for your help.

      @jonesongrowth  Před 3 lety +1

      Hard to say without looking at them, but different years were stitched differently. Here is a guide that may help. www.heddels.com/2016/11/vintage-levis-501-jeans-the-ultimate-collectors-guide/

    What are you talking about dude? Just because the tag is RED does not mean its not vintage. For example an 501XX has a red tag and based on the date on the tag, which btw you never mentioned looking for the dates on the tag, it could be vintage. Orange tag is just a cream of the crop vintage and thats a given.
