Plenty of talk about attack angles these days with wedges. The bad news is that there is no right, wrong or optimal. Too many players succeed with too many different attack angles that we can't look to one as the key to success.
In this brief video James explains how to match your intended attack angle to intended low point and what works best. Once you understand this you will quickly see what works and hopefully what works for you! - Sport
Any tips of where we should be aiming i.e 3/4 of the way to the target also can you show that in relation to a clockface😊
Nice explanation, thanks Mr R. Out of interest do Ping have a greenkeeper who works specifically for them at their HQ? Do they have a course attached to their facility (similar to how the UK set is)?
I assume someone keeps the green on staff. No course attached to the facility, it's in a pretty urban area
I use TrackMan and in my pitch shots around the green I am generally -3 to -4 from a normal fairway lie
So I am fairly shallow so I need a higher low point than someone who is steeper. What is the best way to achieve a higher contact point?
Thanks
Push up with legs as you rotate 👍
Any thoughts on numbers to look for on track man for low point for steep vs shallow? Thanks!
Great question but... It would depend on a few things. Primarily how fast the attack is changing, how quickly the grip is working up and how much the club deflects down from from ball contact. That said, 3-5 ahead for steep and 1-3 for shallow is a see decent ball park to start with.
thank you!@@JamesRidyardGolf
What causes a “Topped Ball?
Ball sitting down… steeper attack 😬
Make another video when you know what you're doing 8
😂 Thanks for taking the time to make such a great comment!
