1985 was a season for the ages. Also, so good to see and hear Howie. Summers just don't sound the same without him.
We won against the electric Reds, the Braves, we won against the scorching hot Royals, and now we're going against an also very hot Pirates who just celebrated Cutch's 300 HRs. I hope this injects some confidence in our lineup and get out of their heads

Awesome pitchers' dual, and so appropriate on Doc Gooden Day. Butto was magnificent! Should've sent Marte on Lindor's hit to RF misplayed by Renfro. Otherwise, a very good and close game by two teams hitting their stride.

Not a huge fan of Lindor, but he had a hit, now being unable to score on a noboby out runners in 3rd and 2nd situation is completely unreal.
That QT patch looks terrible on the Royals jersey. I hated it when they started advertising on NBA jerseys and hockey jerseys .Now they're doing it on baseball jerseys and probably eventually football jerseys. Stop the stupidity please!

I was a fan of Doc Gooden when he played for the Mets in the 80s, but his run ins with the law over DUIs and Cocaine he fell out of favor. So for these guys saying "he is a great person" is not entirely true. I am all for 2nd chances, but he had several chances and blew them all, so he was not just endangering his life, but the lives of others as well. It's inexcusable and selfish.
It's too bad that in today's crappy baseball starting pitchers are not allowed to pitch past the 5th or 6th inning. That didn't happen when GOODEN pitched in the 80's , when baseball was still baseball😢😢

Long overdue day for Doc. Tough to forget all the past mistakes but still he was lightning in a bottle during parts of the 1980's.

It was great when the crowd gave Lindor a standing ovation when he came up to bat with the bases loaded...only to pop out on the first pitch. I never bought into this nonsense about cheering for him to be good instead of cheering him for what he's done. A .103 BA and a OPS+ of TWELVE does not warrant cheers.
