To me, Dawn has a big incense note. Same oud, but with a lot of incense. More wearable too, smells less animalic even if it’s not an easy one. I have to try the Moon, I love Promise and they are much more closer to my price range

How smell changes through the time...tried the night on the skin today... don't know what happened from last time,just sniffed from the sprayer....I thought it was so skanky...the opening is just a little bit too harsh,but just wait for a couple of minutes...it's phenomenal oud rose combo...I don't know what happened to my nose?Nothing skanky/barnyard/funky...this is beautiful scent.Wait to settle down,it will reward you.

The way Eugene describes it as repulsive yet captivating reminds me of Kouros .... the way it smells up close is kinda pissy/urinal while the powdery Sillage it puts off is absolutely splendid 🤷♂️

Have you tried MFK Absolue Pour le Soir ? It is a definite animalic / musk . But some how if I spray it sparingly it gets complements ,that actually surprise me 🤔

Here's the thing in middle east Eugene like Frederic Malle mentioned himself... Oud is worn by women & the rose is worn by men (which is weird to the westren culture) because women love their man to be "ultra masculine"/harsh/protective (however u put that) with the OUTSIDE environment but when it comes to the relationship between them they tend to prefer that SOFT heartwarming attitude which is interpreted by rose
On the other side oud is worn by women cuz it gives that kinky/dirty feel 🤣 and to be straightforward "eating a**" is the term here & that's why the fragrance is called THE NIGHT which represents love/romance in Arabic and you'll find that's the case behind the names in the desert gems line... Dawn represents the prayer which your wife picked that up initially, The Moon represents beaty and elegance/class in general and the fragrance is more for a night out smoking chicha... And Promise is more for events/meetings which may doesn't sound like it compared to The Moon or Dawn but that's what people are rocking here in the middle east it's much different than the west
So essentially, the middle eastern woman would love 'The Moon' on a man compared to the rest of the Desert Gems collection? Love to know your thoughts.

Synthetic oud has always come off to me as like off spray. Like almost mosquito repellent like. For instance Dior Oud Ispahan which I do like a bit but it smells reminiscent too Off mosquito repellent.

@The Backup Bottle Boss It's not a cookie and it's too dry to be overtly feminine, though it is quite powdery. It smells like peanut dust, chalky woods and dry iris. It's more like freshly-ground flour than a baked thing.

I've got a total barnyardy smell when I've tried The Night a couple of years back in Moscow, but now, the fresh tester shows a different experience. It's now classy, leathery, with an infinite depth. Completely NO traces of shit, so I think a reformulation occurred. (It's an official Malle corner, so there's no fakes here). I'm really into Malle easterns right now and wish to re-watch your reviews, so, Eugene, could you unlock some of your previous videos here?
Ilya Galkov I wonder if that (reformulation) has anything to do with the repacking of bottles, you will notice the label got wider once they decided to have the English spelling on the Desert Gems collection. A possibility but not certainty.
U Smells Good , I tried it today on skin. No, it’s not new styled bottle, it’s an old one, with The Night on the back only and Arabic on the front. Absolutely stunning smell, leathery, woody, with an infinite depth into it. There’s no cow shit at all. Some goat cheese in the opening, that’s all, all other animalic notes are leathery. Think reformulation was done before repackaging. Decided to get a small decant to enjoy this rare beauty occasionally.
@@hexaeth my very strange experience from my 50ml bottle was INTENSE poopy opening with not the best projection after say 4hrs. What's strange is 3 wearings later (a week later) the poopy opening is completely gone in the opening!!🤔
Now I get this red wine vibe and the barnyard stuff comes in about 30mins later - but not overwhelming. Maybe I drink too much wine lol and i'm mixing it up with the rose but man I get a red wine vibe.
Hey how would I find out if my 50ml bottle is the old style or new? Can't find a lot of info on The Night online😫. What I did notice is the Arabic logo on the front has 2 variations

I’m exploring FM middle east line right now, and the night-that skanky cowsh*t diaper-is actually my favorite; I went to test it out with my friend and we agree that the night dries down into a very smooth scent on my skin! All my FM bottles are 100ml and so I want the night in 100ml too 😂
Also, my worry is that the scent might go bad within 10 years?
