5 Greatest Offenses In NFL History - Sport
It’s only right y’all do the top five greatest NFL defenses in NFL history 🤷🏾♂️
Cuz the giants had a stingy defense. They were lead by a STOUT front seven and a smart secondary that kept the patriots top ranked offense to just 14 points
Yerp
2000 ravens
My top 5 in no particular order
76 Steelers, 85 Bears, 00 Ravens, 13 Seahawks, 15 Broncos
Honorable Mentions: 69 Chiefs, 72 Dolphins, 77 Falcons, 84 49ers, 86 Giants, 91 Eagles, 08 Steelers, and many more.
2000 Ravens where monsters
The 1998 Vikings should be in the top 3. They absolutely changed the game and made the deep ball a regular thing. And they did it with ease. They also set scoring records that year.
Purple people eaters came from that. You’re right
Cris carter. moss. Loved that team. Giants dismantled them. Giants did it to a lot of these teams on here. Pretty nuts
@@xancypillosi9497 you’re not talking about the 1998 Vikings then… they were 15-1 with the one loss to Tampa bay, and lost in the NFCCG to Atlanta.
Facts
Peyton isn’t a “lock” for the hall of fame. He’s already IN the hall of fame
This was recorded before I think
The 2013 Broncos were led by Manning, who was a lock for the Hall of Fame. He wasn't in the Hall of Fame in 2013. Basic comprehension isn't your strong point, is it?
@@byronandujar7453 The video is discussing the 2013 Broncos, and Manning was not in the Hall of Fame at that time. Why is that so hard to understand?
@@RandomUser20130101 the video was narrated in today’s view point, not 2013. Also why did u get so triggered lol
@@nintendostyle3500 Listen to the dialog in the video. It clearly frames Manning in 2013, not today. The video says: "The 2013 Broncos offense was so special that..." . This is basic high school-level logic.
Still insane that Patriots team didn’t win the Super Bowl.
Tyree’s helmet catch prevented that ….
Yeah they would have had a 7th ring if it weren’t for the lucky helmet catch
1 tyree catch away 😔
Its actually way more inspiring that they didnt. True cinderella story
No it isn't. Brady can't scramble and the Giants had Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora, and Justin Tuck on that defensive line. New Englands offensive line gave up just 12 sacks all season, but were sacked 5 times alone in SB42. In hindsight they stood no chance. Doesn't help that a cocky Brady laughed at Burress' prediction of only " 17 points " scored for New England, which inspired the defense to hold him to only 14 (after averaging 36 ppg during the regular season) in the biggest Super Bowl/NFL choke job in NFL history (only team to blow a perfect season in the Super Bowl). Only referencing Tyree's helmet catch is highly laughable. That wasn't the end of the game.
I love how the giants beat 2 of the 5 offenses ever in the playoffs that’s wild
Offense wins games, defense wins championships
Also the greatest show on turf was the only team to win the super bowl in their historic year
@@scrambledsenses i always tell people exactly what you said. Defense wins championships. Even with the Greatest Show On Turf, it was a DEFENSIVE play that (barely) stopped the Titans short of the goal line and sealed the SB win
@@weegeemike very true
No they didn't
@@poopsock7493 yeah they did
0:19 2011 Green Bay Packers (35.0 points/game, 405.1 yards/game)
1:34 2018 Kansas City Chiefs (35.3 points/game, 425.6 yards/game)
2:56 1999 St. Louis Rams (? points/game, "over 400" yards/game)
4:24 2007 New England Patriots (36.8 points/game, "over 400" yards/game)
5:39 2013 Denver Broncos (37.9 points/game, 457.3 yards/game)
I don't know how this video is ranking the offenses, but the data they provide is incomplete and imprecise.
If you go by points per game, then the top-10 are:
2013 Broncos (lost SB)
2007 Patriots (lost SB)
2018 Chiefs (lost AFC champ)
2011 Packers (lost NFC div)
2012 Patriots (lost AFC champ)
1998 Vikings (lost NFC champ)
2011 Saints (lost NFC div)
1983 Redskins (lost SB)
2016 Falcons (lost SB)
2000 Rams (lost NFC wild card)
I double-checked the records. None of the top-10 highest scoring teams won a SB.
Miss the 99 rams
@@coco-lb3nn They were not an all time top10 scoring offense, just missing out.
The rams had like a 30 ppg average
I guess this proves defense wins championships
Just below the '00 Rams are the '19 Ravens, '21 Cowboys, and '18 Rams, all of whom also failed to win the SB.
98 Vikings? 2 top 10 All time WRs and had a nearly elite QB at the time
@Interdimensional Bigfoot no they weren't
@Interdimensional Bigfoot okay
@Interdimensional Bigfoot hold my poop
Why are you booing him he’s right?
i agree
2011 Saints deserve to be in the conversation. They still hold the record for most all purpose yards in NFL history, Brees threw for over 5k yards and are still in the top 10 for points scored per game in nfl history.
You should know by now, any team that isn't an NFL media darling isn't under consideration.
Goes to show how important defense is, when only one of these teams won the Superbowl the year they put all those points!
Great videos Nonstop sports
Honorable Mentions
1998 Minnesota Vikings: Randall Cunningham, Randy Moss, Chris Carter, Robert Smith
1989 San Francisco 49ers: Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Roger Craig, Tom Rathman
1984 Miami Dolphins: Dan Marino, Mark Clayton, Mark Duper
2011 New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston
2016 Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan, Devonta Freeman, Julio Jones
2012 New England Patriots: Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker
1959 Baltimore Colts: Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, Lenny Moore
2004 Indianapolis Colts: Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Edgerrin James
1983 Redskins: Joe Theisman, Art Monk, John Riggins, Charlie Brown and the Hogs
Honorable mention to the 1950 LA Ram's which stills hold the all-time record for average points per game. 38.8.
2013 Broncos vs 2007 Patriots would be amazing to see
Your channel is great. I stumbled on your channel today and your videos a interesting and I can’t get enough 🔥
Imagine if the 2007 patriots had Gronk 😳
Imagine if the 1999 Rams had Gronk...I dont get your point.
Falcons literally matched the greatest show on turf
Top 5 greatest offense of all time
1) 13' Broncos
2) 07' Patriots
3) 99' Rams
4) 98' Vikings
5) 11' Saints
Honorable Mentions: 18' Chiefs, 83' Redskins, 11' Packers, & 16' Falcons
The 1983 Redskins are the greatest offensive Super Bowl winning team of all time as they are the highest scoring Super Bowl winning team of all time (541 total points). 2nd on that list is the 1999 Rams (526) followed by the 2009 Saints (510 total points).
What set the Rams apart from all but maybe the 2007 Patriots was their defense was ranked 4th in the NFL in 1999 (Patriots defense also ranked 4th in 2007)
1989 49ers
@@yaahlabanyamyan144 it's a debate of either the 83 Redskins or the 99 rams are the greatest offense to win the SB
That is a quality list. I would add the 1950 Rams.
1998 denver broncos was the greatest. Great run game and efficient air game.
2015 panthers were electric
The 2011 Packers were so great that their backup quarterback threw for 480 yards and 6 touchdowns in a game Aaron Rodgers sat out of.
Yeah and no ring to show for it.
@@yaahlabanyamyan144 your point is?
@@goddammitnappa1617 his point is pretty clear...I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Where are the 84 and 89 Niners?
I'm not disagreeing with this list and agree with it, but I feel like the 1990 Buffalo Bills offense should've at least gotten a mention. They had Jim Kelly at quarterback, Thurman Thomas at running back, and Andre Reed and James Lofton at wide receivers, all of which are Hall of Famers. And they even had a good offensive line with the likes of Will Wolford, Kent Hull, who both made it to the Pro Bowl that year and Kent Hull was first team all-pro along with Thurman Thomas, and they also had Jim Ritcher who is considered one of the Bills' greatest players. And I believe this was the year they blew out the Raiders in the AFC Championship game 51-3, and they were the first team to really master the no-huddle offense
People don’t realize they scored 19 points on an incredible defense and did so with only 19:27 time of possession. And they only lost because the kicker missed a 43-yarder, which is a gimmy in today’s NFL. And I’m not biased-I’m a Dolphins fan.
NS. Stay dropin the heat🔥🔥🔥
man that 07 patriots team was fun to watch. absolutely ruthless nothing but shotgun on every down. 4th and goal up 30 points? go for it.
Peyton Manning had the best single season passing stats and loses 43-8 in the super bowl
I was looking through the comments to see if anyone else noticed that the video left out how Manning's Broncos were DECIMATED that year 😆. We were rooting for the Seahawks, but even WE were embarrassed for them a bit.
@@j-rey- whole roster was out for sb. No wonder they lost
@@j-rey- The Broncos had 7 starters out that game
Replace 2018 chiefs with 98 vikes and this will show you how offense will get you there but defense will win it all
No
The 1980s Buffalo bills definitely deserves a spot on here Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed took the team to 4 straight super bowl appearances and Jim Kelly was a 5 time pro bowlers
It’s sad how truly slept on Brees is..
The 2011 Saints are among the best offenses ever and Drew has been rated the 3rd best quarterback ever in the "First Scientific Study of the Greatest Quarterbacks of All Time". Of the recent stars Manning comes in at #2 and Brady ranked #6 coming into the 2022 season and may have dropped to 7th with his subpar final season. Aaron Rodgers ranked #8 coming into the 2022 season.
The Fouts led Chargers should easily make this list. Fouts invented the 300 yard game. They averaged 40 points game, they just gave up 50 ppg.
2019 ravens should be here. Scored over 530 points. First team to average 200 passing and rushing yards per game. Single season rushing record of 3,296 yards. Lamar Jackson broke the record for most rushing yards in a season by a QB. Led the league in TD passes with 36. Was the NFL MVP. Averaged over 5 yards a carry. 3.2 yards before contact was all
Tops in the league.
That’s crazy.
In a pass heavy league a team breaks the single season rushing record
@@Terror832 yeah their passing attack was in the bottom half of the league but it was enough to produce the league lead in TD passes🤷🏻♂️
word.... 2021 ravens gonna be here too
@@Sam-ib1vx nah, their O-line is weaker compared to last years top 10 unit. The O-line was a key part in the ravens downright explosive offense in 2019 and 2020
@@dominicmeyer4689 L sadly
Where is the Fouts era Chargers?
If they had ever had a DEFENSE in that era, they'd probably have won at least 4 Superbowls in a row.
that 90s jaguar offence
I feel like at least one of the 80's or early 90's San Francisco Super Bowl teams should have been on here. Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and the rest of those boys were damn near unstoppable during that time. They also played in an era where officiating didnt blantantly favor the offense like most of the teams on this list.
They are going off stats and stats alone so they don't care too much about the past
@@trey8725 they won 4 Super Bowls in 9 years with 2 different coaches. Definitely one of the best offenses ever.
@@Mac10Daddy they are going off stats for 1 season only not multiple seasons.
Those teams wre led by their defenses
So..Not one 49ers team or 84 dolphins? 🤦🏾♂️
Fun Fact: 1999 Rams Offense is the only one on this list to win the Super Bowl
Not sure how you can overlook 1985 San Diego Chargers and 1984 Miami Dolphins and they did what they did when the rules weren't totally to the offense's advantage
In my opinion the 07 pats were better than the Broncos , the Broncos team was stacked with talented players
Lol what are u talking about the ‘07 patriots were stacked too not only that their defense gave up only 17 points a game they were stacked on both sides
That comment makes no sense, both teams had talent!
2010-2011 packers had an astonishing line up of receivers, (not a packer fan) that was very stacked what made jordy Nelson grow for the next year
I think the 2016 Atlanta falcons deserve to be in this conversation
2016-17 STEELERS!?? HOW IS THIS NOT ON HERE
So, the NFL has existed for more than 100 years, but the "Top 5 Greatest Offenses in NFL History" all came out of the last 22 years?
Interesting.
Yes because of the game change. The most impressive one of the the bunch is probably the 2007 patriots or the rams.
Top NFL Offenses Of All Time
1999 Rams
1998 Vikings
1984 Dolphins
2013 Broncos
2007 Patriots
Honorable Mentions
2011 Saints
2011 Packers
2019 Chiefs
2020 Chiefs
1989 49ers
1990 49ers
1992 Cowboys
1994 49ers
1996 Packers
Man, It is too bad what happened to Hunt withe KC. Imagine what this team would look like if they still had a legit reliable 1000+ yard runner that can also go get you an easy 500 yards receiving.
God bless you
I may sound biased but 2019 ravens should at least be an honorable mention
Funny how only one of the teams mentioned won the Superbowl
The lack of 98 Vikings kind of invalidates this list, if not the entire channel.
2016 falcons too
98 Vikings were the greatest offense before the Patriots that year.
Broncos were really something special!!
What’s interesting is that these offenses except for one didn’t have that protect the wide receivers rule.. imagine if those offenses had that back in the day…
I’m 30 plus years of watching football at every level, I have learned that great offenses usually don’t win championships, but great defenses do!
Great teams do. There are 3 phases to a team
Interesting that only 1 of these teams won the SB that year
Defense wins championships???
@@spaghettibrad4297 Pretty much (especially in the case of the Broncos)
To not have the 1998 Minnesota Vikings on this list is criminal.
That Broncos team is the only team where 5 position players had 10+ touchdowns in a season.
The 2018 chiefs were especially good considering their defense allowed 421 points
Patriots 18-1 team still the greatest ever. They dominated from start to finish and had a great defense. One Asante Samuel drop, Eli escape, tyree catch, and they got upset by 3 points, to a team they just beat down in week 16
No, they aren't. The greatest team ever, at least for the Super Bowl era, are the 1991 Washington Redskins. It was close but the Redskins' strength of schedule is way above that of the 2007 Patriots, the 1991 NFC East was top to bottom one of the best divisions ever in the Super Bowl era, while the 2007 AFC East was mediocre at best and I would call it pitiful. Besides that Redskins team would have never lost to a team lead by ElI Manning.
@@MegaStephen68 if that's the case the 03- 04 pats was greater because they had the longest reign of wins and dominated 2 years. With an overall defense and offense. And the GOAT coach and GOAT QB running the ship
2017 ATL Falcons
God bless don't forget to keep God first
1977 Buccaneers have the worst offense in NFL History
107 Points in 14 Games
Their QBs went 131/321 (40,8%), 1,714 Yards, 3 TDs, 30 INTs, 22.5 Rating
😭😭😭😭😭😭
The 1977 Buccaneers had 4 rushing touchdowns, and 3 passing touchdowns...for THE ENTIRE SEASON! Astounding.
Their lifetime win/loss record is 278/429.....the worst of any professional sports franchise.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@tyrone-tydavis5858 Other than a couple decent seasons (1979, 1981), that team was basically in hibernation for their first two decades of existence.
2013 Broncos offense vs the 1985 Bears defence.
4:21 Stafford, Kupp, OBJ, and Donald have entered the chat
Rams are the greatest offense ever. Simply cuz they won the big game and were the last team to have the league MVP win the Sb and SB mvp
The 2016 falcons was great to
It seems to me that so many teams with All time great Offenses to fall short at the end of the year. Some examples:
1984 Dolphins
1990 Bills
1998 Vikings
2001 Rams
2004 Colts
2007 Patriots
2011 Packers
2013 Broncos
2018 Chiefs.
You still have to play defense and eliminate turnovers.
It would have really helped the 1984 Dolphins if they would have had a decent running game to go with Marino's passing.
4:20 me watching this after superbowl 56 are you sure about that
Only Super Bowl win in their history but then they were on their way to winning another one at the time of this video.
My boy Reid claims one of those 6 interceptions in Rodgers’s best season
So the moral to this story is Defense is the key to winning a title.
1979 Chargers and 1984 Fish deserve a mention.
To me, the 1999 to 2001 were the greatest offrense ever, period.
The fact that only one of these teams won a super bowl should let people know just how much defense wins championships. Quarterbacks and offenses can be damn near perfect, but at the end of the day a solid defense will bring it home more often than a great offense will.
IS THAT WES WELKER IN THE THUMB NAIL?
1950 Los Angeles Rams: 38.8 points per game, with two Hall of Fame Quarterbacks...Bob Waterfield and Norm Van Brocklin, and two Hall of Fame ends...Elroy Hirsch and Tom Fears.
Sadly they lost 28-30 against Otto graham and the browns
Wait so your saying the teams of this list are the greatest teams to touch the field but over 50% lost the season and none of those teams are mentioned
Its funny for the broncos cause he said they came up short but the score was 48-3
I'm not sure how many of these offenses would have fared in the 70s and 80s. Rules were different and didn't favor the offenses so much. Just saying it's hard to compare teams from different eras. The Chargers with Fouts and "Air" Coryell were pretty dang good - had to out score everyone 45-41 every week it seemed.
Rip DT 😔
“As they tore apart opposing offenses” i didnt know the green bay offense only played against other offenses
2019 Bmore RAVENS😈🖤
you could have done top 10 because i would love to see the killer bs
2011 Saints and 1998 Vikings would like a word with you.
This just proves the saying that defense wins championship's.
R.i.p D.T
We don’t talk about the end of the 2013 season
On the pacers he said tore up opposing offenses instead of defenses
1950 Rams averaged 38.8 PPG.
92 cowboys and 89 49ers and 1966 cowboys
What about the 2020 Jaguars???
2016 falcons?? I thought statistically they were officially the 5th best nfl offense of all time. Am I wrong about that?
R.I.P D.T.
honorable mention, 2016 atlanta falcons
Day 18 of asking nonstop sports to bring back the deep voice guy
If the 1998 Vikings aren’t on here this list is bunk
mans forgot the dolphins in their undefeated nfl season
He said the Patriots were the only team to go 16-0 in a regular season. The 1972 Dolphins went 14-0 in the regular season.
The 72 Dolphins played the easiest schedule of any team in history , a 370 something winning percentage.
Only one of those legendary teams won a SB. It's always better to have a great defense than a great offense.
A prolific defense with a mediocre offense > a prolific offense with a mediocre defense
1995 st Louis rams the greatest show on turf 🏉
You forgot about the killa b’s
Holt should be in the HOF.
2019 Ravens
This video proves that defence wins championships
