HAUNTED ARADALE LUNATIC ASYLUM | Did its Ghosts Help Catch Thieves?

- čas přidán 27. 08. 2024
- The very haunted Aradale Lunatic Asylum was opened in 1867 and shut in 1993. Many controversial medical treatments were trialled during this time, and over 13,000 people died. Do their ghosts/spirits remain, and even more importantly, did they help catch some thieves?
We are not presenting this as proof that ghosts exist; how do you prove that? We are only sharing some curious moments during this investigation with any of our followers who may be interested. We will leave it up to you to make of it what you will.
Thanks to Eerie Tours for allowing Haunted Horizons, @AmysCrypt and @ParanormalQuest to investigate. Their episodes can be found on their channels.

Something that really scares me about asylums is if the some of the patients there can't tell the difference between their hallucinations and real life, how would they even be able to tell that they've died? 🥺😳
That is an interesting thought. I also wonder from time to time, when they pass over, do they leave their mental health issues behind due to it being brain-related (physical brain), which they wouldn't have if they are just energy? Maybe that is one we could contemplate in a future podcast as at our own Asylum, we do appear to get what seems like one person but with multiple-personality.
Never thought of that, good one
It's a wonderful thing to hear that spirit was pretty detailed regarding the breakin, and actually helped in finding the guilty ones. Great investigation ladies!
I didn't know until the guides told us when we returned. I just remember feeling very aggitated while on the headphones. Good to see they are still looking after the place. Thanks for watching x
Yes, I could hear the loud humming that Kag was hearing. 😊
It is so interesting how some can and some can't.
Definitely heard it as well I picked it up immediately.😊
You and Amy have become the bookends to my Sunday. I’m very happy to be in this situation. It’s become my Sunday ritual and I’m loving it. Love you both, thanks for this new outlook on Sundays, thanks for sharing, as usual. Many, Many Blessings,❤,❤.
That is awesome iain, so glad to hear we can help make your Sundays a little more enjoyable. Many blessings to you too ❤❤
OOOoooo can't wait for this one ladies.😲😧
Well once again Aradale doesn’t disappoint. Your esties session was amazing. There is something to be said about your compassion and your handling of locations that have been the sight of major trauma. You are both fantastic at what you do. It’s an absolute pleasure to tune in and watch the way you go about your work.
I can’t wait for part two next week. Thank you for all your hard work and much love to you both
THANK YOU! I can't see the point in being rude, and provoking as at the end of the day, these were people once, who suffered enough. Hopefully, that respect shines through. We do have fun, but at our own expense, not at the places we are visiting. I am so pleased this is being embraced. ❤❤
Our rendition of that song in the hanging tower of Old Adel Gaol was amazing!!!! lol... I do enjoy going back to our vid together :D
Oh the acoustics in that hanging tower are amazing for music. You have reminded me that maybe we should try that again 😂😂
Loved the two investigations. It was amazing the responses in the first Estes session. I just love watching you ladies. ❤❤❤
Naw, thank you Janet. ❤❤
Hi girls that sound Kag heard was acoustic feedback similar to the squeal you get when you put a microphone to close to a speaker. Every room has an audio frequency and Alison's voice started to match that frequency causing a feedback with the natural reverb in the room. If a singer can match the frequency of a wine glass they can break it just with there voice. It's a good job there weren't any around when you sang bohemian rhapsody.😂😂🤣🤣At the end of a night when playing in a band I once sang Daddy's home and at the end there was a woman crying. I asked was it the words in the song that made you sad....She said no I'm a singing instructor.😥😥 The bit where it said ...Do you want to die and... You will followed by... Like us gave me goose bumps. I loved it as always thanks gals for a great episode and I'll see you on the next one.❤❤ 👍🏻👍🏻👻👻
Hi Geoff, I did wonder whether it was the resonance of our own voices... but I couldn't hear it to be sure lol. Yeah I must admit, I forgot about the "Do you want to die" and don't really remember saying a lot of this stuff, but when I was editing and listening back it gave me the chills too. Idon't think it felt like a threat, just they were informing us that one day we would be like them.
Great as usual ladies. Look forward to second half. Please take care
Thanks Linda x
Still thinking about those slits on the doors. Something about their diagonal placement creeps me out.😮 Keep up the good work ladies.
Yes, so different from other Asylums I am used to. Thank you Laurie :)
Enjoyed that very much thank you Ladies. That Estes was 👍 well done. ❤️
Thank you Kathy, I am so pleased you enjoyed. Was lovely to see you in chat too :)
Just finished watching! Really interesting how Alison saw a flash and you heard a hum (which I didn't hear BTW lol) Perhaps they chose to communicate to each of you in different ways! I could hear the spirit box going (unless what I heard was EVP thru your mic?) No wonder she's deaf and can only see flashes 🤣 @39:45 I heard Philip BEFORE Alison said it. @40:06 "John" (or "done/Dunn" maybe a surname?)
And the high point! When you guys say "we CAN sing" @40:39 I heard an "ummm.." 😂 I laughed so loud!!
Can't wait for part 2❤
It is interesting you say that Rican because listening back when editing, I can hear several words I didn't call out for whatever reason. I think I tag a couple of them in the next episode. Yes, yes, I do like my ghost box loud... like my music :P
Oh, and you just made me giggle... I missed the 'ummm...' and now just picture them telling the one off that suggested we do that!
@@haunted-horizons 😆
I could hear that humming/buzzing noise
It is so strange how some can and some can't. Shows how different our hearing is.
Love this, appropriately sensitive approach.
Thanks FuerzaArmada, I am huge on supporting mental health and actually Haunted Horizons donates to beyondblue each year to help with this. It is always in my mind to be respectful, these energies were just people once, and nobody chooses to have mental health issues. I am pleased our methods are being embraced ❤❤
Very cool, thank you ladies!
Thank you! Pleased you enjoyed :)
Yay! Good morning to my Aussie friends 😊
Good morning (which it is here now) marybethreimer401 :)
Cool. Love Aradale, look forward to watching tomorrow and hoping you got some creepy stuff 👻
Looking forward to bringing it to you :)
Old asylums have always intrigued me. I enjoy the history that is included.
❤😂😂❤
It is great to find another history lover! The scary part is the thought that in the old days, I would probably have been in one lol. I don't conform too well, and so many ailments listed that would have ticked me off to be in there.
@@haunted-horizons I would have been in trouble too.
Just finished watching the episode and some great intelligent responses were captured past and present. That place is definitely creepy.
It was certainly intriguing, and was even more so when I went back in 2022 to be told the information turned out correct when they were arrested.
Just got to catch up on this one. Loved it 🙂 can't wait for part 2
Glad you enjoyed it Bianca. Hopefully, you enjoy part 2 just as much :)
Awesome as always!
Thank you Melissa :)
Another awesome investigation, Aradale is an amazing place to investigate, during your estes session at the 35 minute mark when just after Kag had said we're all going die, I swear I heard a male voice say what. Could just be my ears lol, thanks again ladies for all that you do ❤
Thanks Elise, I will have to check that one out tomorrow. Thank you for watching and supporting ❤
An interesting investigation...when Alison was on the spirit box and said something was dropped (or similar) my hat stand decided to fall over 😆😬
Thank you pnormal1111. Ooer good timing lol.
A very good morning All
A very good morning to you too John :)
Ok ladies...watching these two again!
I might have to too! I forget so quickly what we have happen in them lol
Wow that was an amazing estes session in 2018. Great job on the rest of the video. Got to day I loved your singing have definitely heard worse ❤❤❤❤❤
You are very kind M&A, I am not sure the spirits would agree lol. We can't help ourselves though, we love just doing it :P
Take a bow....
🎶 Always sing as if no
one were watching 🎶😊
I wish you could find out who Phillip was and his story.
On to Part 2!
Let's see what the spirits
reveal to us 👻 👀
Talking to Di after the Premiere went out, she did say Phillip does come out a lot in there. Who he is in history may be harder to track down as there would probably have been so many. Would be lovely to find out though.
Love this location!
It certainly is amazing :)
Such a sad and creepy location. As always, love the respect and care you show to the people that might remain there. Looking forward to part 2. 🖤👻
Thank you Jodi, I think sometimes it is too easy for people to remember that these were people once too. I like to keep that in my own mind when we are investigating. We laugh and have fun but never at their expense... just ours lol.
Unfortunately, I always seem to miss your premiers so I will show my appreciation and admiration for you ladies here in the comments. You two are amazing and your investigations are always so interesting. Thank you!! 💜👻💜👻
Naw Nikki, THANK YOU!!! That is so very kind of you and will go towards more filming in the USA in 4 weeks time. Huge hugs! ❤❤
Crime solvers - fantastic - Phillip appears to be watching over the place - till next time - thank you for the work and places you take us all to! Cheers N
Somebody was definitely watching them. It is a shame they didn't scare them off... or did they? If I was a ghost there, I would have had so much fun with them lol. Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching x
I've just been practicing singing Queen while I was in the shower. Next time I can sing along!
I love it! When doing the premiere's, we will be seeing you all in our minds, singing away lol
Definitely heard that humm, Kag. 😊❤❤
I think we are getting more hearing than not hearing. So interesting, thank you for adding to it :)
That was great, so much going on, even though you two were feeling tired....looking forward to part two....I only heard the humming when the speaker was right by the cameras mic.
Glad you enjoyed Vonny. I still couldn't hear it when I did that... sighs. There again, as you can hear from the ghost box, I do like to have things loud, so maybe my ears have perished over the years lol

Good morning everyone 👋
Good morning... or evening for us :)
31:11 hear a noise over Kag talking or Kag telling us what to hear when we're meant to be hearing it?
Isn't it weird how some can hear it clearly and others like me can't hear it at all. Thank you for helping with this curious thing. 😊
Still catching up on old episodes. Singing!! 💙Do you take song requests?? 🤭☺You ladies are the best!!!!
Hahah we are two trick ponies! The only ones we know the words to! We should start taking requests though lol. I think it has become a thing on how many haunted places we can sing Bohemian Rhapsody... I wonder if there is a place in the Guiness Book of Records for that 😂
@@haunted-horizons I think you are on to something! You'd be the only paranormal team that sings!! I love it! Yes, I do believe that would put you in the Guiness Book of Records for the most singing in haunted places!! 😂😂💜
Aradale is hands down the most creepy, imposing building I've ever been in, even more imposing than many historic prisons and castles I've been to. While I didn't have any ghostly experiences there, it stuck with me in my thoughts for months and months. Driving up that hill in the dark, and seeing that building loom out of the darkness was so terrifying, even to my husband, who doesn't believe in ghosts. We were there on a really foggy night in June, which made it feel extra atmospheric... an odd choice for a night out on our honeymoon, but it was so worth the drive from Stawell, and worth freezing our tits off for three hours!
As I've said to you guys before, thank you for being so respectful to the spirits. It breaks my heart to think of people being treated like demons not only in life, but in death as well. They were treated worse than animals, and no matter how "insane" they were, or what they did in life, or how they behave in death, they were people.
Oh, the best kind of honeymoon! lol I couldn't agree more with you Belinda, nobody choses to have mental health issues, it is something that creeps up on a person. What they need is help and understanding which they didn't get back then. It is why we are big on being respectful and not forgetting these were once people that were dealt a rough hand in life. It is also why we support beyondblue too and my business donates each year to helping mental health 😊
I was cool. Thanks Alison and Kag
Thank you Johan for watching. So pleased you enjoyed xx
About to rewatch because this ol gal can't focus on more than one thing at a time, lol!
Hahah I know that problem!!! #rewatch is the best thank you!
@@haunted-horizons 😸😸
Love this place and your investigation, I want to give heaps of likes for the singing alone! 😄 I hope you got a good chance to eat, hydrate and rest, take care ladies
#singalongwithkagandali 😂
Kag I could hear the noise you spoke of…almost like a gong was struck or an old church clock bell tolling.
But how it sounded with the talking, made me ignore it because I felt it was just a way the voices echoed as they compiled upon one another while being amplified by the recorder.
But it was still interesting how some people heard it and others couldn’t…for me it was loud and clear as day.
Alison here... I did wonder if it was just the frequency of our voices echoing... but I couldn't hear it to make a judgement. Mind you I have all my music and the ghost box so loud, it is no wonder lol I still can't hear it!
20:50. Estis, can't remember all the names. Lady on estis, she says car, the other two were talking about ' are you ok?" There's a light, middle of the door, was that a car?
You were talking about patric, "scuse me?
Oh, I will have to go and look tomorrow Deirdrelegg. Thank you for pointing out. I don't think it is near the road, so shouldn't have had headlights, but will double check. :)
I heard the noise :)
Definitely heard it and it was creepy...
Hi Jess, thank you for letting us know. It is so interesting how some can and some can't.
I couldn't hear what Kag was talking about, lol. No humming sound for me.
Excellent, wasn't just me that heard nothing then lol.
Has no one seen the orb activity in these clips????😮
I’ve been checking the comments for these orbs.
Active!
Most likely it's dust and that's prob why they weren't identified as spirit orbs.
Ive been here and had some experiences we also had a girl collapse on our tour she know knows she is empath myself and another woman knew things and picked up on things no one else did i dont claim to b sycic but things happend i cant explian and when we spoke to the tour guide later we were both spot on
Thanks for sharing Linda, it is such an awesome place to investigate.
I could defiantly hear the hum ;) To me is sounded like the sound a person who is largely non verbal makes when communicating ;)
That is awesome. It is so strange how some hear it clearly and others, like me (Alison) can't hear it at all. Thank you for letting us know what you are :)
Greetings from Pacific Northwest, Washington ST, USA. I could hear the hum even without headphones. I really appreciate your style of investigation and wonder if all male teams would benefit having a female on board.
It is strange, how half the people can hear it and half can't. Shows how different our hearing is. Thank you for your kind words too. I guess we are able to be more empathetic to ghosts/spirits and remember that they were people once.
See y'all soon
I can hear it
Thank you Colin and thank you for watching 😊
at 13:50 in the doorway, is that an orb?
I heard it Cag.
Definitely so interesting that some can and some can't. Thank you for letting us know that you could :)
I couldn't hear it either
Glad it isn't just me ~ Alison lol
You have to be crazy to go there.
Erm... yes!!! Why we fit in so well lol
heLLOOOOooo
Hello nightheron5892 😊😊
@@haunted-horizons Allison, you and Kag are a breath of fresh air in paranormal media. You are yourselves and don’t get caught up in mimicking huge channels. Love it
Do you think that the all the responses that you receive are intelligent, or are a lot of them residual. Which brings me to the next question, do disturbed people, when they pass
away, revert to normal intelligence.
These are such great questions Alan, and ones I have been asking for years. I think personally, it is a mixture of both. The one giving the information at the beginning seemed to be very precise and aware, yet at other times with the sounds and feelings of emotions, I do wonder if it is just residual too sometimes. Maybe there is no one box, but we are dealing with different layers.
As for reverting to normal thinking, another great question, and I was just talking about this the other day. I wondered, if mental illness is because of a brain functioning issue whether physical or chemical... if we don't have a physical brain that can malfunction over on the other side, do we loose what is affecting our thinking on this side and start to clearly think once more, or do we take that part of our personality over with us. I wished I had the answers.
Well I really like you two however for the most part of the time up to the timestamp 25:00 of this video someone was talking over whoever had the microphone!! Oh I can't say how unnerving that is! Trying to listen to what's going on and you have other people talking over the person with the microphone sucks!! Its very disrespectful for everyone involved! Sorry guys but its true! Take care and best regards.
Hi ts, I just had a look, as was a little confused, but saw that the 25 minutes you mentioned, was footage from 2018/19, which I put at the beginning of the episode. We have evolved a long way since then. We weren't even using microphones back then, plus this was a live stream for our followers and not intended for CZcams. I just thought it was interesting to tack on to the beginning of this episode to recap on our last visit. The good news is anything filmed from our return from U.K. this year, onwards, has microphones and double cameras. Some of the older stuff I am still putting together though as still some interesting stuff, but it won't have mics or documentary-style filming. We were only ever about livestreaming back then... we learn and we evolve lol.
Sorry you didn't enjoy, but we do understand that our style isn't for everybody. Thank you for giving us a try though xx
