Drew Barrymore was gonna play the role of Sydney but she wanted to be the first victim. Just so the audience wouldn't expect it. Gotta react to Never been Kissed, Ever after and Riding in cars with boys. She's such an Icon ❤️

That wasn't scripted, either. Skeet's hand was covered in fake blood, so the phone slipped out of his hand and smacked Lillard. He just rolled with it.
Then Neve stabbed Skeet with an umbrella (the second stab where he yells).
What makes this movie the best is the even ratio of comedy and horror. It's one of the well made movies ever.

19:46 What makes this one even better: this one of the few times the actual character is in the costume. Skeet, the guy that plays Billy, specifically asked for this to be one of them.
In the opening scene, when Ghostface was talking about Nightmare on Elm Street and Drew replies “The first one was scary, the rest suck”, that was pretty much Wes Craven saying that only the one HE made is scary and getting revenge for not being involved in the sequels. Way to go, Wes hahaha 😂👍

Actually, I was 15 when this movie came out. I didn't really know anyone who had a cell phone at the time, if anything they usually had a pager. It wasn't until Columbine that cellphones among teenagers became more prevalent.
I was 17, and I’d just bought myself my first. A Phillips Fizz, lol. It was like a brick.
I came here to say this! I was in high school in the early 2000s and even then it wasn't super common for teens to have cell phones. I didn't get one till I was a senior.
Cell phones were really expensive at that time. Only a few of the rich kids had them.
It always makes me laugh when people associate the song Red Right Hand with Peaky Blinders, when this will always be the Scream Song to me. That and Don’t Fear the Reaper ( an acoustic version plays when billy first visits Sydney in her room ) which I’ve always loved because it was like he was telling us the killer was Billy from the beginning.

In 1996 I don't think cell phones were owned by everyone. Maybe I was late to the party, but by the time I graduated high school in 2008 I still didn't see most of my classmates with them.

Not only do I love that you made the comment about Skeet playing Jughead’s Dad, I love that you used that particular shot to show it because that particular moment in that particular episode is one of the more vulnerable moments for FP and it’s extremely powerful and emotional.

To be fair, when you said ghost face this is where you messed up you had your chance to kill her, obviously after the fact we know that they had no intention of actually killing her there. Which would explain the slow knife along the throat and slow raise. Watching it for a first time you're not going to figure that out though of course. Now they fucked up like 50 times at the end and to be quite honest they wouldn't have gotten away with it anyway but I always liked that they totally let her live the first time.

14:53 there's a popular theory that that's actually the killer from the 3rd movie.
It's a fun theory but it doesn't track well given the backstory that comes with the reveal of the killer in the third movie / their monologue

Another great horror/comedy teen movie is Idle Hands (1999) with Jessica Alba and Devon Sawa. The main character's buddies are awesome side characters. Totally recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it who's at least 17-years-old, I would say.

But he didn't show up as the actual killer in the first movie. Which is what they were asking.
Those who think of themselves as Christians, should never celebrate Halloween. Especially make their kids part of the celebration. Kids have very fragile nervous system, they have very tender hearts, they get scared really easily. They are very vulnerable to the spiritual world. Kids can have nervous outbreaks after encountering the unclean spirits. Its very dangerous to let kids participate in something devilish.
Kids can have depression, anger outbreaks, crying spells... long after the incident.. Unclean spirits can have control over kids and force them to be out of control. When kids brains and hearts are damaged like that, its very hard to make them normal. Only God can heal such kids.
Parents need to go to a church that is in very close relationship with Jesus Christ. They need to ask a pastor to anoint their kids with oil and pray over them in the name of Jesus Christ and God will heal their kids, and make them calm. The Holy Spirit of God will be protecting such kids from everything evil, but parents have to stop forcing their kids to participate in gruesome holidays.

Hallow means to honor as holy, as sacred, to make holy, basically... to worship
