This tends to happen with anything popular. It gets a backlash from the counter-culture. The most successful movie of all time is, of course, gonna have the most vocal backlash. There's a lot of contrarians who feel the need to "balance" out any love-fest with hate.

well, she is a good actress, so you can't really tell. Many actors don't like watching themself on screen because most "normal" people don't like that. But in this case it'S all CGI so i guess it's easier.

It's one of those few movies where even the actors are flabbergasted by the movie, even though they've acted through it. They'll be surprised watching themselves in a new Avatar, ( forgive the pun) and all other visual elements that weren't present during filming.

@@chelseaamara7218 IMAX has bigger, taller screens (and some movies were filmed specifically for IMAX so you can see more on screen), but Dolby atmos is a better experience all around. Better video and sound quality with Atmos. More immersive experience. 😊

I don't understand the sudden backlash and unenthusiasm towards both the original and the sequel. The original was astounding due to their more limited capabilities and resources in terms of visual affects. The world of avatar was created through impressive, technologically advanced equipment. To see that on a big screen, with how realistic the scenes were and the beauty of the cinematography, was beyond cool. Not to mention, the storyline shed light on the ways that mankind has chosen to treat the land. Although I won't claim that the sequel will be just as good or better than Cameron’s original, I still believe this to be a phenomenal film.
I think a big part of why a lot of people hate on the first movie is because they don’t like some of the humans being depicted as the bad guys destroying the natural landscapes. Although, some humans destroy natural landscapes in real life too.
Because it is a story we seen so many times. White person coming into a native land who didn’t understand it, now help save it. Cameron couldn’t do anything different?
@@lexis4490 Avatar was less focused on racial issues and more so touching upon mankind’s repeated behavior in regards to greed and ignorance. It was about saving planet Earth and taking proper care of its ecosystems, rather than taking them over and causing destruction for our personal gain. Yes, it’s a story about justice and sacrifice for the purpose of preserving one’s way of life. But it’s about a fight for nature. Not a fight against discrimination or current racial tensions. The Na’vi could easily represent the millions of animal species across our world who’re incapable of overpowering the destruction that human beings have caused towards their habitats, and who are therefore helpless and unable to defend their homes. Clearly animals would not revolt in the ways the Na’vi do, as it is fictional and the beings are quite evolved. However, I’m using that example to highlight how the film is meant to focus on nature, not the human race and it’s racial division or colonial history.
- A large cause for backlash during the time the film was released was due to Cameron’s depiction of people, and their role in the destruction of the environment. And he made it clear in statements prior to and following the release of the original, that he “wanted to make an environmentally conscious mainstream movie”, (LA Times).
Because it was Liberal propaganda BS. Duh.

Anyone who says special effects like we saw in Avatar 13 years ago are commonplace now is wrong. No one else knows how to do effects with the quality and precision of James Cameron. This movie is going to be state-of-the-art. It will stand on the backs of a century of cinema and take us to a new height of visual astonishment we've never reached before.
