Fun fact : after the war in the Philippines, the America handed over their used willy's jeep. The filipinos loved it and modified it and made it longer to make it a public transportation. Up until now jeepney is the iconic public transportation in the Philippines.
And the fact that transport groups refused to phase it out because it's "anti-poor" when they themselves pollute the environment with the black smoke.

Another one: There are also smaller variants called “Owner Type Jeepneys” or just “Owner”. They’re about a bit smaller than your average sedan that are usually used for personal use. They are assembled the same manner as Passenger Jeepneys.

The 3.6L V6 Pentastar btw is shared with the 300C, then theres the I-4 diesel. Personally, I'd have the diesel inline 4, simply because it has more torque :D

My late uncle had a ramcharger with a swapped in big block. He used to win a lot of street races with it in the 80s with it. He’d put it in 4-wheel drive and hook like crazy while the other guy would just spin the tires. He’d be far enough ahead to beat them by the time they hooked up.

I've never been happier to get a notification as when I saw the words "Up to Speed" and Jeep together. I've owned Jeeps from a CJ7, to a XJ Cherokee, to a JK Willys edition, to my current JK Unlimited Willys Wheeler. I am a Jeep diehard. The Wrangler is far and above the best vehicle I've ever owned, and aside from the "premium" price, they are just about perfect.

I’ve been waiting on this video forever and I love it, but let me be an asshole and make a few corrections: no Wranglers were built in 1996, the TJ was released in 1997. Also, the JK started in 2007 not 2006, and the B roll that is shown in the introduction to the JK is actually a TJ with what looks like the Sahara trim seeing as it has the color matched fender flares and rocker pieces. The Rubicon editions also came with locking differentials in those Dana 44s, as well as a slight lift from factory and an NP241 4:1 transfer case being better than the NP231 2.72:1 in all other Wrangler models. The JK was also equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar from 2012 through present day being sold in the JL, not 2013.

TJ production started in January 1996 as a 1997 model year vehicle. JK production started in August 2006 as a 2007 model year vehicle. I'd also argue that while the Rubi transfer case is great for rock crawling, it's not suitable for overlanding. Just ask any of my friends driving Rubi's who complain over the radio that, "Mark, you're going too fast--I can't keep up with this darned Rubi transfer case!"

Mike M They're in sixth gear doing 15 MPH, max revs when everyone else is doing 25-30 is the problem, and it's a nuisance for them to stop, switch out of 4-low to 4-high and stop, switch back when 4-low is useful again. Overlanding isn't always slow.

The JK is not a real jeep, it ditched the excellent tub and frame design for a shortened Ram pickup based design that let all it's guts hang out the bottom and not neatly tucked up to prevent them from getting damaged when scraping over rocks. I hope the JL will be more like the TJ and previous Jeeps

Cool video, Old Cj-5's still had buick V6s until may of 1971. Those late Kaiser Willys 71's were sweet because they had the short wheelbase, tiny V6 and a gas tank that is less likely to kill you

Literally out of no where in 2016 I started seeing jeeps (specifically the Grand Cherokee) everywhere, than I came home and I saw a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016 limited and I asked who’s that was and my mom said she bought it. I have my first wrangler and it’s a TJ. Got it maybe 5 months ago, and I had to do a lot of work to it to get it to run well. It’s literally my dream car! I mean, it’s slow, and my tires are nearly bald, but it’s the love of my life lol.
