The party indication order that appears on screen as ‘Joined the Party’ at the start of the JENOVA LIFECLINGER fight, informs you who will join you and when. This also indicates the order for the Sephiroth fight!
The list will look like this and appears onscreen for a few seconds, be sure you take a screenshot;

Cross reference the above order with your own along with the additional information below, then ‘Retry from Before Battle’ and configure your materia now that you know who you will have for the various phases.

I spent 4 hours in the final boss gauntlet. Didnt even bother slotting materia for half the cast and still ended up beating it. Such fun fights but it was all ruined in hard mode by not having skippable cutscenes.
The fact that this is a thing was beyond ridiculous. They clearly didnt play this part repeatedly. It sucked watching a 2 minute cutscene 50 times
Finally got the platinum an hour ago having followed your informative guides for most of the brutal and legendary vr challenges, and then the hard difficulty bosses. A massive thank you for helping to make the plat doable 😀
I feel like you single handedly raised the platinum % of this game by at least 0.5%. I feel like this should be a sub 1% game considering how hard the brutal/legendary challenges are, not to mention the sheer hours. Gg on all the guides,very concise and informative. Thanks for all the hard work.
Dude, these fights were so chaotic on Normal mode when I wasn't following a guide. Just listening to you describe things step-by-step really calmed things down considerably and made me really understand the battle far better the second time around. You were a great help on some of these boss fights throughout this entire playthrough. Ty, your guides made the ones i struggled with a breeze. Was able to do all this myself and man if you die on any of these segments you gotta rewatch a unskippable cutscene over and over. Man was that beyond annoying.

Usually, I pride myself on beating a game without help. However, after banging my head against a wall while playing the Brutal Challenges, I relented, and sought help from youtube. Your videos got me through the rest of the Brutal Challenges, and the Legendary Bouts.
Then, I went back to the game, and beat all of the hard mode bosses on my own. Until chapter fourteen, that is.
I got through Jenova on hard just fine, but, I kept dying on the Sephiroth fights. I gave up, and once again, turned to you. I watched this video, studied it, then, tackled the gauntlet again. Because or you, I got through it on the first try. I just earned the Platinum Trophy once chapter fourteen completed.
I could have gotten through it on my own eventually, but, I'm still glad I chose to get your aid and spare myself from a lot of time and frustration.

Thank you Opti for all these FF7 guides! got me the platinum. This final fight was surprisingly easy compared to the first playthrough. Bond of Friendship was hell though. Can't wait for what you come up with for part 3 in a few years
Thank you so much! Your materia build for the whole of Ch 14 was so good. However, I stupidly misclicked and ATB Boost didn't add onto Aerith, so I had to improvise.
What I learned in this fight is A) Sephy's first attack is pretty fine and B) Fira is perfectly serviceable if you have an opening. As a result, I ATB Boosted with Cloud, then Faith, then I built ATB with Aerith to ensure Arcane Ward. I didn't go into Prime Mode until after Fira knocked out the Wing, then continued the build as normal. The only issue is that HP gets knocked too soon, as you alluded to, so I had to evade End is Nigh and resort to chip damage to get one more Fira and seal the match!

Your tip on the party setup was spot on and I think my character C being Tifa made it a lot easier against Sephiroth as she KOd the orb in 1 limit break use.

Like many others your strategies have been my guide to platinum. Solid builds for Jenova and Sephiroth. I almost did it first try for both, just the last Sephiroth phase gave me some issue's.

I just finished the fight. Awesome. Thrilled. Thanks for the guide. Took like 3 hours. Now only Legendary battles left.
Most difficult was phase 3 and 7. You need a little RNG luck in Phase 3. In phase 7 I did use limit break straight from the start after ATB boost and Prime. This gives Aerith time to cast ATB boost and Faith. Furthermore, you do not need 2 ATB to cast the first fire l spell during the Whisper. If you have 2 ATB it is nice, but if you Arcane ward 1 ATB with double Fira also works to pressure and interupt. Not ideal but waiting till 2 ATB while getting almost one shotted by Whispers is deadly. Dont take the risc, use 1 ATB double Fira and then flow the guide. Also make sure you have ATB boost and 1 ATB bar ready at end of the fight when End is Nigh gets up so you can go straight ATB boost and double Firaga from the arcane ward. Everything else it the same as Optinoob.

I would have liked the fight more if I was able to grind out more I did like the parts with Zack and Cloud because I know how to use those guys, I did especially well using Zack because I like his character so much also he is a tank taking those shots. Prime mode cloud too. I'm glad the last part were easier at least in my opinion I only had to restart the final part three times. If only they were a way to play Zack all the time...lol. crisis core reunion. I have a few difficult challenges left but that fight primed me for them

Fired fire3 when his health was locked. Used Limit break. Felt epic. Only thing left to so are the dates and scanning sephiroth and virtual sephiroth.

I cheeseballed the end with 2 arises ( I chucked it on Aerith cause I always did) never had any deaths the rest of the Chapter 13/14 fights till Sephy last phase but still got it done. Thx Opti for this Hard mode and all the other tutorials almost everything done. Just the 2 last VR that Odin massacred me a few times but stepped back and researched how he works. Platinum soon! No steel foreskin in this one , its too OP. LOL
