- I usually shoot my videos in one take - but in this case my usual camera-minion wasn't available and I was in a TEARING hurry to do this before the next client came to the door - because that was HIS kilt in the opening, and in fact the minion stopped recording when he tapped on the door!
Why am I the only kiltmaker who takes full advantage of the marvelous service provided by D.C. Dalgliesh?
- Their cloth is superior to ANYTHING ELSE offered for sale today, yet their prices are competitive.
- They will weave ANY tartan, not just a stock list of "what's likely to sell"
- They are happy to do custom orders at a very reasonable price.
- Their customer-service is second to none.
The Greatest Economy lies in buying the best you can afford - and Dalgliesh cloth is both 'the best' and 'affordable'!
Why aren't YOU using Dalgliesh cloth?

Great to know!
Wow !! Good to know. Thank you for sharing all you knowledge and experience. Really enjoying your videos.
Up Dalgliesh!!
Indeed, why?
Awesome information!
One of these days, after I finish making my beginners mistakes with Pakistani acrylic wool. It's about 75% done, and starting to feel like something real instead of a roll of fabric. We'll see if my learning curve is approaching acceptable.
You won't be disappointed! - you'll be wondering just HOW you suddenly got much better at kiltmaking!
Is acrylic/wool better than poly/wool...I'm still practicing too.
@@footstepsinchina299 I don't know, I've only used this and cotton/poly so far.
Acrylic tartan fabrics are much lighter weight and don’t hold pleats very well
I wish I could buy the yarn DC Dalgliesh uses to weave my own kilt (which I have in progress, but would love to use their yarn).
why not ask them the name of their supplier? all they can say is 'no'...
@@robertmacdonaldbespokekilt3063 Good point! I've thoroughly explored their website and noted that colour matching can be done for custom weaves but not that they sell the yarn itself. It's been a bucket list item for me (for a few years) to weave my own fabric to hand sew my own kilt in our family tartan. Strangely, yellow (not gold) is hard to come by for sale. I will write to them and ask, otherwise, I am going to have to dye my own yellow. Thank you for your very educational videos on construction.
@@tls8688 I'll ask on your behalf if you'd like.
@@robertmacdonaldbespokekilt3063 That is incredibly generous of you to offer and I appreciate it. I am weaving a McPhee tartan, for reference to the yellow. I started it in gold, because that was all I could get, but it's just not right. I've joined your Facebook group today in order to carry on any conversation there. Thank you for your help.
@@tls8688 This is a busy month for me - the (brief) period of reliable summer weather is my one chance to do my outdoor chores such as touching up the paint - but we WILL make this happen.
