feel special it's really sad and important for us because twice are at a difficult time back then, in fancy era was the worst, a lot a bad things happen, mina was in a hiatus too, Sana got a HARD big time, jihyo too a lot of polemic, they are sad from at that time onces hate that time and them mina come back from hiatus on Halloween fanmeting and jyp write feel special base and on them feelings, pay attention to the lyrics, specific mina part :/ , and Sana this was 50% the song for her, jyp said. and jeongyeon was struggling too with anxiety and in 2020 she went to a hiatus
Fun Fact: Noticed that Feel Special Momo did not have bangs? cuz it is the first time Momo didn't have bangs and she's complaining because shes not used to it AHHAHAHAHAHAH

Fun fact about Feel Special : This was the first time Momo had a style without bangs. When her promo pictures dropped, it broke the internet. An Apple event was taking place at the same time and Momo managed to trend even above them on twitter, leaving people wondering what the hell a Momo was.

Yeah Fancy was definitely the start of a new era for TWICE but Feel Special will always be one of their most definitive and special track for ONCE.

Feel Special was well, Special. This was around the time Mina had anxiety, didn’t went to the concert back in 2019, everyone missed Mina. Seeing Mina at the start just brought me chills. When they came back in 2022, seeing Mina and at the time we didn’t know Jeongyeon was even going to make it bc she had anxiety as well, just seeing OT9 for the first time, being the first crowd bc the first LA night was the first time they performed as OT9, it was amazing

Same with me! "Fancy" and "Feel Special" got me into Twice but at the time I wasn't aware about what Mina and Jeongyeon were going through as KPop idols. I'm so happy for the both of them now and where they are in their lives and still together with the rest of the Twice members (renewed contract too!!!). Twice discography is simply a "chef's kiss*.

She had the neck problem initially, which brought on anxiety and when her medication made her gain weight the Knetz were relentless in their hatred and insults against her.

This was an amazing year for songs but difficult for the girls. That’s why FEEL SPECIAL has so much meaning. It’s the members being there for each other during all their hardships.

Feel Special came out at such a meaningful time for the members. 2019 was when they were getting lots of hate, especially Sana. JYP, after he helped finished writing the lyrics, he had them framed and gave it to Sana. He wanted to talk with them 1 on 1 to get their stories and how they felt.
2019 was the roughest year for Twice so JYP himself wrote the lyrics for FEEL SPECIAL after speaking with the girls 1on1. The girls had gone through a lot of controversies, rumors and Mina's hiatus that year, Feel Special means a lot to "Onces" and TWICE.
When Fancy was released Twice killed the fandom ❤️
When Feel Special was released, it was the day the fandom cried a lot, both for the lyrics of the song and because at that time Mina was on hiatus and she appeared in the MV and so many bad things happened with the girls that year, both they and we were very fragile and this song warmed our hearts
Feel Special was a special song for a number of reasons:
1. JYP wrote the song for them as a group, based on a conversation he had with them over how they felt while dealing with pressure. It's a song that is primarily dedicated to Twice. It's sung by Twice for Twice. It highlights their struggles and how them finding each other gave them a better purpose in life. It's the most OT9 song there is and one that Twice members consider to be one of the most important songs in their careers.
2. This was also significant as a Twice dedicated song because it was the first time Mina returned after a hiatus due to mental health issues. This was a huge thing for Once.
3. The album "Feel Special" is the first time member-written songs were in the forefront. Every original song other than the title song were written by a member, with 21:29 being written by all of them. 21:29 was also a fan-song, which the members wrote as a response to fan-mail they got during their tour that was going on at the time.
Feel Special is my all time favorite TWICE song. I love their entire discography. But Feel Special holds a very special place in my heart. I have been to three TWICE concerts and I have cried in every single one as soon as this song plays. It's so meaningful to the fandom because of the hard time we were all collectively experiencing with the girls, specially Mina and Nayeon. When this song came out, it perfectly captured how the girls feel for each other, they are each others comfort zone, and how the fandom feels too. One of the many reasons I am such a big TWICE fan, is because they are a group that have gone through a lot of trials, specially dealing with Mina's anxiety and Jeongyeon's physical illness, but they way they have stuck together, not letting the hurdles separate them and actually making them stronger is so beautiful. Feel Special as a song, captures all of that and that's why to this day is still my favorite song.

Yes or Yes was the gate to their more mature sound. Fancy was an amazing follow up to that in my opinion
12:46 According to JYP, "Feel Special" was written with the message of conveying the message of hope and a reminder that people aren't alone. He had been inspired by Twice's closeness as well as a particular incident where Sana (who let's admit it, is normally a ray of sunshine) was going through a really tough patch due to online harassment. Also, for additional context, Mina had been on hiatus due to mental health difficulties and for a moment, it wasn't clear whether she would be well enough to participate. So much so, that in the behind-the-scenes clips for the MV, you can still hear JYP's sample vocals for her part as they hadn't recorded her sections of the song yet.

Fancy was definitely their big turning point between cute and more mature. Fancy was the beginning, Feel Special was the grounding, and their next comeback More and More was like the complete evolution. And then I feel like the next comeback after that (I Can't Stop Me) was the cementing of "grown woman" Twice.
Feel Special is certainly special to the fandom. It came at a time when Twice was going through quite a lot, mentally and emotionally. Nayeon was dealing with a crazy stalker, and Mina was dealing with her anxiety, among a multitude of other things within the group. I think I saw somewhere that JYP talked to each of them individually about how they felt about the other members, and then that's how he crafted the song. I could be wrong with that, so correct me if I am. But yes, the core of the song is for onces and Twice on how we make each other "feel special".
don't forget about sana, with the post on Instagram, d the song was a lot for her too, because she was so sad and stuff and the fancy era, she even said that things at the twice lights
I like to believe these 2 songs increased TWICE’s popular tremendously. So many casual listeners became ONCEs during 2019 because of these songs
True. I became a Once because of Fancy, but not in 2019. I first got hooked with Twice when I listened to Fancy in 2021 and then I learned more about them. Prior to that, I wasn't into Kpop at all.
seeing the difference of Dahyun from yes or yes to fancy gave me a stroke. something definitely shifted with those 2 songs. And finally time for feel special!! it's one of my absolute favorites of all time. 2019 was a rough year for twice but they really still pulled through with the bangers!! so happy seeing you guys enjoying this :)
I don’t think it was mentioned by others, but each Twice member has their own designated color that you can select on their lightstick (Twice bong).
Mina’s color is mint green. Feel Special came out while Mina was on hiatus. During After Moon on their TWICELIGHTS tour, ONCE would all switch their lightstick to Mint Green, since Mina was absent from the tour. I was at a stop and literally CRIED. Mina’s scene in Feel Special features her color, so it’s like the fan love/support was bought into the MV.
Fun fact: Feel Special was also Momo’s first time without bangs!

I remember when I first watched the Feel Special MV I thought a lot of the scenes were inspried by Blade Runner 2049 (great film), which is a film about loneliness and human connection. Feel Special is really cherished by both Twice and the whole fandom because the song itself is about Twice and their own difficulties and how through the hard times, when they might feel alone and really down they would draw strength from eachother to move forward together. So any time I hear the song I always think about this MV aswell not just the music because its clear they put a lot of meaning into creating both.
Also FYI there was an article that came out last year where they interviewed JYP about the song and why he wrote it for Twice. He mentioned in particular it was Sana that inspired him to write Feel Special based on a difficult period she went through in 2019 and how the other members cared for her and got her through it. Seeing the love they have for eachother really touched him so he wrote the song based on that. He said he even wrote down the lyrics, framed it and gave it to Sana as a reminder to her that the girls would always have her back. After reading the article I think they probably end with a closeup of Sana for this reason which I think is fitting.
Fancy and Feel Special are one of a kind songs. They are one of the greatest kpop songs there ever will be. Twice out did themselves with these masterpieces 🤌🔥

Man I dont even know where to start. Fancy is what got me started on the amazing coaster of Twice and kpop. I fell mad hard for them and their music, they helped me through such a hard time in my life and especially with Feel Special, that hit me hard since Mina is my bias. I will say in my humble opinion that Fancy is my favorite Kpop song ever and the greatest kpop song to ever touch this Planet. I say that humbly again haha. So glad y'all were able to these 2 amazing songs. This is when Twice turned another page in their musicality and never looked back. This is wear Twice won more fans over. Feel Special is the 1st Twice song i cried bcoz the lyrics really spoke to my heart knowing of the struggles they had that year. 2019 was the most difficult year for Twice. It was the most emotionally draining year they had and yet they thrived really hard. This song is extra special if you knew and was a fan of Twice for a long time.

Feel Special is very near and dear to our hearts. This song hits a lot harder once you know what it’s truly about ESPECIALLY Mina’s lyrics once you know about what she was going through at the time. Us ONCES truly cherish OT9 and we were there worrying so much about our Texas Girl Queen Minari and then later down the road with Queen Jeongyeonie that’s why certain songs and/or MVs are almost sacred to us.

To Feel special is the most important and special era for all of us, and for me this is the era when I became one, this song has a wonderful message, everyone's first viewing is under shock, and it becomes even more special and cooler when you already know what her background and lyrics are. Other than what poeple have already mentioned, one of my favourite fun facts about feel special is that they chose their scene partners for this music video (specifically sana mentions in ep.7 of the behind the scenes that she chose dahyun). I think it's really sweet and shows the bond that the girls have and they were able to express it through this special song 🥺

Feel Special is probably my favorite, the lyrics are so beautiful and this comeback was after Mina's hiatus. It came out at a difficult time and it really is such a special song. Literally cried so much when it came out, especially at Mina's part. Then breaking down for my girl Dahyun lmao. I think you two should also deep dive into both of these albums as they have really amazing and underrated B sides. I still listen to Get Loud on the daily as my gym song.
