Years ago on an Instructor's course, I was told, " You can waffle on all you like, but a clear demonstration is the best way of teaching" and I believe this excellent video reinforces that advice. 👍
Well done and I like the subtle nod to Gallagher (RIP) with the apple smashing 😊
I miss the "Sledge-O-Matic"!
I can't stand videos without commentary. I think this was the first one I've ever made it through. Excellent job, sir!
I loved how you didn't have to speak during this video. It was wonderful simply to watch.
Wonderful video. Please do more like this with outdoor tools. Always fascinating to see.
Always great to see you on Sunday
Andy, with respect from Australia 🇦🇺! We, my son and I have watched you for the last three years. I have never had a response or a thumbs up from you brother. Maybe we are not worthy of your response but we are worthy of listening and learning from you mate. It's ok buddy. My grandad was the company Sargent major of 1rar infantry who went to Vietnam twice. My grandad taught me the best technique ever, the poncho raft. Now I don't care about getting wet and can get to places that most will not tread. It is with greatest respect that I show my 9 year old your channel and we take it into the bush/scrub/forest. With greatest respect ranger Andrew give my boy a thumbs up please sir!.
👍🏻
What a champion!.
Man you didn’t get no extra did you 🙄🙄 I don’t understand these people they want you to watch there videos & buy there stuff but act like it kills them to answer a few questions every now and then.
@@shanesims2864 it's pretty obvious this guy is a tool. Just the way he acts in his videos and the way he talks. But people still watch and subscribe so it is what it is.
@@daleyfun2247 what has he ever said that hurt your feelings enough to be upset by a bush crafting video
Thanks, Andrew!
Thanks Andrew for another great class. Much respect for what you do. Bravo.
So extremely satisfying. Very little commentary. And useful
Now we need 5 more . Awesome video, tools and skills.
Another great video! I love the basics. Some people are just getting into bushcraft/survival.And the rest of us can always use a brush up! You never know, you may learn a different or better way to accomplish that!
Excellent video Andrew, basic tools that most people never think to make but will progress their bush craft skills. Thanks.
“Jesus my Joy” by J.S. Bach is playing on the radio while watching this. It really gives the watching experience a new depth.
Thanks Andrew
Andrew the blisters on your hands say a lot!
You're a warrior
Great to see the channel growing.
So refreshing to come on here and see essential skills being taught.
Thanks Andrew. You are always showing how to use the landscape to advantage. Well done!
That apple looked pretty good !
Well done Andrew , this was an absolute must for students to know these skills and how to make and use the tools you made.
Tools are the way.
A wonderful lecture/learning experience without a spoken word,
Don’t know why you went to the silent video format. Your previous vids had so much useful explanations!
I was not in the military but I worked for the as a civilian employee and I did my part. Every time I watch your chanel and croprals corner I seem to learn something new, we may not see eye to eye on the way we do things but I admire workmanship. Keep filming videos
Appreciate that slow mo !
Didn't wasn't that chuck tho.. haha
Solid as always. Thanks for the info. Have a great evening
I also have DMT files. Mine are the 4 piece 4 inch files without the handles. I separately added the xx-fine and xx-course files to the existing set. Gets my cutlery nice and sharp to my expectations. So far no complaints.
Very cool Major! Thanks for sharing my friend 🤠
Thank you so much for your time. I chill out and watch your vids.
This was one of the best video's i have seen... will be watching more now!
Thx for your quick return, Skipper! This is the kind of time and labor saving knowledge so important in long-range treks and being stranded. Situations can obtain in truly remote wilderness where you need to shelter in place indefinitely. The tools you carry are everything to isolated or lost folks. Weapons & ammo, metal canteen, canteen cup, survival knife, incomparable Viking hatchet, folding bow saw, stove and fuel, Bush Knife, sharpening tools, ferrocerium sparker, are all very packable together, and invaluable multipliers. Add 2 or 3 feet of baling wire, paracord, a little bottle of peroxide for disinfectant, a camo kit with mirror, compass, foil, some paper towel and wipes, etc. Too soon you may be subsisting on spruce bark, rose hips, squirrel, and evergreen needle tea.
Something to watch out for in Arizona when digging with a stick or anything else near a black ant nest is the capability of these ants to inflict a very painful bite. Furthermore, if they decide that their nest is being disturbed, a swarm of them may climb on you and sting you in unison as if they were soldier ants from Africa. I am speaking from experience. These ants look a lot like the fairly innocuous black ants found in the Midwest. Mexico has some vicious white ants that are legendary, and fire ants anywhere can also be mean. Better to learn this stuff a priori than by painful or fatal experience.
Outside video Andrew! I love the bushcraft. Makes me want to get get out in the woods and use my tools. I will soon.
Always enjoy watching your videos, and learning from you.
Nother great vid, Thanks Major. 👍
Another interesting and informative video. Your channel is one of my favorites on CZcams. Thanks for sharing.
Another awesome info packed video. 👍👍⚓⚓🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank You for the demonstrations without all the fluff
Keep it simple !
Great Great vid many thanks
A classic!
Great Pathfinder gear.⭐⭐👍👍
I tell you, gloves are a hugh difference in the cold...great video ❤👍❤
i highly recommend that you dont smash an apple with a stick in a survival situation :P
KISS method useful, perfect.
On the maul make the stop cuts first then cut to length.
That’s an options; I prefer this method so I can move the wood as opposed to moving around the piece.
Great video, all the tools, you made, with the wood around you, was very useful to have around the camp site!
Damn good job Andrew.
Thank you, Major, for another superior video. Skills and information that is useful in almost every place on earth. In the Philippines, we have bamboo that is abundant in many areas. Bamboo is a strong and lightweight resource. You need a saw if you wish to make a smooth cut. You need sharp tools to work efficiently. Much like the laws of physics, some things never change.
Cold steel bushman I have both variations , they ride in mine and my wife's packs but they are a backup to the back up blades , great tips great tools thank you for sharing Andrew .
A pleasure to watch as always 👍
As always, the Best!
Thank you.
Thank you for another great video Andrew!
Damn. That was a good looking apple.
Thank you for a great video.
Great video, thanks Andrew.
Thx for the vid Andy
Great video, another good tool to have is a settlers wrench
Everyone should know these skills.
Best bushcraft video money can buy.
Great to see you back on the trail Andrew!!! Great video in fashioning tools from the landscape! Hatchet work is not seen enough IMO, and you showcased it well making the wedges.
Keep up the Fire Ranger!!!
Andy! I like the long diamond abrasives!!
Пила и нож понравились.
Fire hardening the tip of the spear, too cool. Great video
Great information and video. Thank you for your service. Stay safe...
Most of these were what I was expecting.
Point, Blunt, wedge, baton, mallet.
The Anvil impressed me. Simple notches on the sides were genuinely usefull additions. I never thought to do that myself before.
Great video! Loved it!
Excellent video Andrew. Thank you...
Outstanding video.
Great skills to know.
Thank You!
Great video, ty
G'day Major.! Without a doubt another great class reminding us of the basics & perseverence for survival. All presentation are what we learned in our Outback Survival Training. With the Saw Horse/Anvil, we make it without sawing it off the main tree trunk so others that may come after us can use it or get intrigue by it.! Then again it does make a great seat or swedish stove etc. We use all your vid for class revision & some skills as part of our class training. Cheers Digger & thank you for your service. Greetings from Australia.
Thank you for taking the time and all the work to make this skill presentable and benefits to all skill level in surviving in the wild. GOD Bless you and your leaderships.
Andrew, great video and info!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent brother. Keep ‘em coming.
Good stuff! Keep it coming! Thank you.
Great video...freedom for all people ..
I'm a tad more crude,I use/pack various chainsaw files for sharpening purposes.A sharp tool is a safe tool!Thank You Andrew, that's some damn good knowledge to have!
Thank you more informative content. Skills we all may be called upon to use to survive.
Very enjoyable video lots of good information thanks for sharing
Yet again, another great educational video. Concise and to the point, without a lot of chatter letting the viewer concentrate on the visuals. Keep up the great work. Admiration from the Uk 🇬🇧
Outstanding! I am definitely going to improve my sawing and chopping logs! Thanks!
Awesome video Andrew👍🇺🇸😎
Your skills are amazing thank you so much for sharing.
Andrew, thank you for another informative video, time well spent watching. Have a great week, Happy Thanksgiving, take care, stay healthy and God bless you and your Family always.
Great stuff!
Interesting stuff, I believe this is the first time I see a video on any specific basic set of wooden tools to make out of wood for survival purpose.
Excellent videos but the way you whittled the maul handle was violent lol
👊🤘🍻
Awesome skilz..
Great video as always. I also keep a few nails and a spade bit with my pocket saw kits and a hand auger with my crafting kits. If I can save cordage, I will.
A follower from Tunisia, a big greeting to you and your channel
